I’m growing flowers for my wedding this year and have a lot of excess right now! I’ve been setting them out with a free sign, but as quantities have grown it’s taking me a lot of time to harvest/process/arrange. Thinking about setting them up with a Venmo sign for maybe $10/bouquet, what do you guys think?

Statice, yarrow, peppermint, a bunny tail, a snap dragon, rudbekia, zinnias (one plant decided to make small zinnias 🥺), and the first dahlia of the season.

we’ve been having some crazy weather in Alberta starting with a tragically late spring and now thunderstorms everyday. I took the gamble and harvested my ranunculus & anemone so they could be enjoyed inside, but I’ll miss this darling little patch 🌸🌼

I cut this quick bouquet for friends! I'm impressed by how much the flowers have been resilient despite the weather.

My sister is getting married and I’m going to bring some of the flowers from my cut garden for table arrangements.

For those of you with experience, what is the best way to store and transport them? They would probably be cut at least one day before and have to ride in the car for a few hours.

Is there anything I can do to make them last longer?

Edited to add: likely will have cosmos, snapdragons, zinnias, sunflowers, clay eyed Susan’s and bachelor buttons

For those who grow it, how do I treat it? Do I keep snipping off just the flower heads if I don’t wind up using the stem and that stem will bloom again? Or do I cut the whole stem down at the bottom and it puts out more stems? I’ve read/ watched a lot about it and I can’t find a clear answer.

This is my third year doing a cut flower garden and it brings me so much joy! Anytime friends or family come over, I tell them to bring a vase so we can make bouquets together. It’s become one of my favorite little traditions and always leads to the best conversations and memories 🫶🏼

I am more of a pink/white cosmos kind of person, but I thought some darker colours would look nice for fall bouquets. I’m surprised by how beautiful this red is!

Just a peek at some of my early favorites here in Zone 6a, Massachusetts. These are all from various sources: OP Floret Seeds, Basket of Flowers Seeds, Queen Lime Blush & other random collected seeds.

Sigh. I was doing so well not over watering my plants- just once a week, with fertilizer. They were doing great! The Persian Cress was actually thriving best of all! Then we got a heat wave and I panicked. It was only a couple days of over watering, but it very suddenly turned brown. I stopped watering as the soil was still damp. A couple days ago I actually moved it to another empty pot I had, as the internet suggested that might help. Is it just dead now? If I cut off all the little branches, might that let new ones grow?

As for the Larkspur- I don't believe I over watered it. The brown leaves are a new development in the last couple days. I've read they don't like extreme heat, which we are experiencing right now. Are the brown leaves normal? Is there anything I can do to help it?

It is my first year growing in a larger garden (compared to before when I only had a few containers) and I’m so surprised by how long it takes me to harvest! It takes me 2 hours to harvest 3 buckets and strip the stems. I have started to get a little quicker, I used to be an hour per bucket but I would love to get even faster. How long does it take you to harvest? Give me all your tips and tricks!

This might be only helpful for a few folks, but I recently moved from Texas to Oregon. My gardening knowledge is largely based in Texas, so I'm keeping that flair for now cos I don't want folks to think I have Oregon knowledge when replying. Would it be possible for folks to be able to choose two (or more) flairs? Cos Texas and Oregon are reeeeeeeally different, and there might be someone else who would find it helpful?

Hi all, this is my first time growing Rudbekia (Cherry Brandy) and the stems are consistently 8” or shorter. Any tips for encouraging a taller stem? I’ve been cutting at the base of the plant, but the plant itself seems on the short side.

A beginner’s first attempt

Hi! First time posting here. I’m a beginner gardener and especially beginner in growing flowers. I aim to grow a small patch of cut flowers every year and hope to find inspiration and learn a lot from this sub!

I just wanted to share this little combination of Dahlia, Chocolate flower (I don’t know the name for it but it smells like cacao), Zinnia, Cosmo and Amaranth red tails.
