I’ve been looking for what feels like forever and I can’t for the life of me find even semi accurate leggings as to the one she wears, nor a jacket but I I’m okay with getting a different camo jacket, are there any leggings that look similar?

Buying Has anyone bought the Jazwares Brand New Day Suit?

I'm trying to find a decent BND suit before the premiere. I bought a suit on Etsy but the sewing was poor quality so I have to return it. Is this suit decent? Not looking for anything fantastic, just good enough. I'm planning to use my own shell and mask as well so the mask isnt a concern.

Buying Where can I buy a trustable and high quality Aizen Sosuke Cosplay?

Upvotes

I really want to cosplay Aizen for my very first convention as I have wanted to go to one for many years and Aizen is one of my fav characters, but any I find are from websites I probably can’t trust or would have low quality options.

Painting fabric

Upvotes

Hello! Would like some advice on painting fabric/pleather clothing. Working on a cosplay that’ll require a heavy amount of detailing and painting to achieve the desired look I’m going for. I already had an idea of using plasti dip to coat parts with but I need some extra advice as I have limited experience with painting fabrics.

miccostumes shipping times?

Upvotes

I was looking for a cosplay on miccostumes and was wondering about the shipping times. some people say it comes on time while others say it comes late or doesnt come and they can`t get in contact with them. i`m in Canada and it says it would come between august 3rd and august 10th. i would need it probably before august 26th or 27th and im not sure if its even worth it since its pretty soon. does anyone have expirience with ordering from here?

How can I add these stripes to my outfit?

Post image

First time cosplaying and I'm a bit unsure on how to go about adding these stripes to a track jacket.

I've seen I could either try sewing a red ribbon onto it or using fabric paint but I don't know which one works best for this type of clothing.

Thanks in advance!

Prop I want to cosplay a cat

Hi guys!

As the title says, I want to cosplay a car for a competition in September. It’s more of a joke-idea so it doesn’t have to be perfect but since I never did anything like that, it would be amazing to get some insight from others :D

This is my plan so far:
- I want to sit down on one of these boards with wheels people use to transport heavy furniture and maybe have a friend pull me
- the body of the car itself has to be transportable by train so I was planning on making the individual pieces foldable and out of cardboard and then taking a hot glue gun with me and finishing it right before the event
- the hood, trunk and main body of the car would be the three pieces I’d prepare kind of like a big paper craft template, paint beforehand and then assemble upon arriving.
- If possible I’d like to add a functional door with some kind of a hinge (possibly just a fold in the cardboard? Idk) to get in and out of the car on stage

What do you think of the plan? Does it sound like something that’s doable to you or am I being delusional? Do you have experience with this kind of craft and can possibly help me with some advice? I’m thankful for any kind of feedback!

(For reference: i’d call myself a skilled crafter, have done cosplays and made props for about five years but I’ve never made something even remotely as big as this out of cardboard)

Accessory Fallout Trader Cosplay

I know Fallout can be pretty out there and anything really flies when it comes to the possibilities of things, but how far is too far when adding your own flair to an original character? I'm looking to dress up as a travel traveling trader from Nuka World which doesn't really exist in the game.

I'm planning to go a little bit darker and adding in teeth and eyeballs to lean more into a raider look. Is there any point where you have gone too far away from the character where it becomes unrecognizable? A lot of this is new to me so I'm trying to figure this out as I go. Thank you for your time and responses.

i plan on wearing this to a con, the dress code is pretty lenient (their dress code says most things are fine as long as no genitals are showing) but i would just like to know what the best underwear option would be for these.

Any tips on how to help my 11 year old with her Halloween project

Hello, I have never done anything like this before, but my daughter wants to make her own costume, I’m really not that crafty but I’m willing to learn for her, so she wants to be Sun from FNAF but sort of human? And a mask that she can hold on her hand , she actually made a sketch and kind of started making a list of things we might need, to me this is a huge project but I think it would be fun to do. Just don’t know where to start. So if anyone can give me any guidance I will appreciate it. These are the sketches

Hi all, I’m an amateur (second-timer) cosplayer and I’m trying to cosplay as a member of the Firebreathers from Fallout 76, an elite group within the Responders faction. Now I know I have to buy some firefighter gear and whatnot, but I cannot seem to find this kind of jacket. I know it’s a long coat as the Firefighters put it, but I cannot find the design or look for this kind of jacket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Armor Need help with painting my Nightwing Costume

This is a nightwing costume I'm currently working on. The armor is made out of eva foam and will go over a pre-existing nightwing bodysuit I have. I want to try and paint the armor to have a similar finish to the nightwing costume in second photo. But I'm still debating on how to get that satin/matte texture. Idk if I should just do plasti dip, sand, and then paint. Or to plasti-dip, filler primer, sand, and then paint? (IK his armor isn't made of foam, but still want to try anyway)

Buying Prescription circle lenses help?

I really would like to buy circle lenses for cosplay, but I have a weird prescription. One eye is nearsighted, the other is farsighted. Unfortunately, all the circle lenses from the brands I know of only have negative prescriptions, no positive ones. So I was wondering if anyone knew of brands that carry negative and positive contacts and you can pick different prescriptions for each eye. I’ve been just wearing regular contacts for the past 11 (oh my god) years I’ve been cosplaying, but especially since I’m going to cosplaying Miku soon, I would really want some blue circle lenses

Etiquette Is Cosplaying while live selling allowed?

I've been trying to find an answer for this but no luck. I've been thinking of trying to be a live seller but idk if cosplaying is allowed while I'm at it? Obviously non official costume will be used and I'll put no official endorsement on the live but i figured most will be interested in a host cosplaying. I just wonder if this is technically allowed since I'm kinda selling things with it.

Can I crimp a wig without a crimper

Hey can I use a hair straightener instead of a crimper at the lowest setting or do I use a hair dryer? I cant buy a crimper and I'm just wondering because the wig I have needs to be straightened and is wavy.

Buying Wig vs Dyed hair for OC Cosplay on a Budget

Thumbnail

I'm new to cosplay but it's been my wish to create something for quite some time now. I have previous experience with sewing small costume pieces for theatre at school but my knowledge is small in every other aspect. I'm also on a very tight budget (as in like about 60€ a month max).

Now I wish to atleast somewhat portray my character from World of Warcraft in a Character Bound way but I'd need white net contacts and a wig and I can't afford both (especially since I'd need a crimping iron for the wig as well). My thought was I could just dye my hair with temp dye to match my character and save some money for the contacts and clothes. I have light brown hair so maybe even a toner would do the trick.

I'll give you guys pictures of the hair style my character usually sports (the longer twin braids) and the alternative which matches my current hair(the short style).

I'd love your guys opinion on which option would be cheaper^^

Thanks in advance!

Accessory Attach lenses to fake leather?

Thumbnail

Hot glue didn't stick. I'm trying to attach these lenses (one plastic, one cardboard) to this headband made with fake leather, to create some goggles as you can see in the last photo. But I can't think of a way to get the lenses to actually stick to the leather. It's not very grippy, so hot glue just doesn't stick. Any tips?

PS, the circular leather piece was my previous method of getting the larger lens to not fall off when the headband opened or closed. I had glued the fabric to the lens, and then glued the other side of the fabric to just 2 points of contact on the headband so that it could move flexibly. But the issue is that the hot glue simply doesn't stick to the material.
