I'm trying to cosplay as spiderman (as per the title), and I want to purchase from print costume, i was told not to buy a face shell from them as its always not perfect cause you cant custom tailor a face shell from them. I want to buy one from Etsy because you can custom tailor those, I have a 400$ budget and the cosplay usually costs 250-300$ which leaves me with not enough for a face shell. Any tips as to where to buy one thats custom tailor and/or cheap?

I’m planning on cosplaying Homura Akemi for an upcoming convention (July 26th), and I’m unsure what to do with the wig. I purchased the wig from Doki Doki Cosplay (listing pictured) and it arrived pretty messy, which I expected since it was shipped internationally, but I’m not really sure where to go from here?

I’ve only worn a wig for cosplay once before, and it was for Ashley Graham from RE4, so it was short enough that I didn’t have to worry about tangles and only really needed to brush it out once. But I’m worried about my Homura wig getting super tangled at the con, and I’ve gotten some conflicting information about styling it?

Ive seen several people talk about crimping longer wigs to prevent tangles, but I’ve also seen people say not to crimp wigs that are supposed to look naturally styled, which was what I was going for? I’ve also seen some people say to wash it with fabric softener or conditioner, but other people have said that will damage the wig?

I’m very inexperienced with wig styling so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I really want to cosplay Aizen for my very first convention as I have wanted to go to one for many years and Aizen is one of my fav characters, but any I find are from websites I probably can’t trust or would have low quality options.

I have had an airbrush for a long time and mostly only used it for weathering and certain effects. But I started using it for the entirety of the project. But I am noticing that it isn't nearly as durable as acrylic or spray paint.

This has been incredibly disheartening and is making me very sad to see my last 2 projects get scratched so easily. What am I doing wrong?

I've been trying to find an answer for this but no luck. I've been thinking of trying to be a live seller but idk if cosplaying is allowed while I'm at it? Obviously non official costume will be used and I'll put no official endorsement on the live but i figured most will be interested in a host cosplaying. I don’t see why me simply existing in cosplay means I constantly have to fight of random absolute strangers who keep trying to shoot their shot??
It’s just outrageous that despite being barely legal(19 since June, though I be been cosplaying since 16) and someone who’s frequently told I look younger than I am, that there are still these men in their late twenties and thirties that actively try to get with me.

It always starts with a casual con photoshoot, exchanging socials cause ofc I want to see the photos taken. Then it’s invites to go to cons together or private shoots, followed by straight up being asked out on dates.

Hey can I use a hair straightener instead of a crimper at the lowest setting or do I use a hair dryer? I cant buy a crimper and I'm just wondering because the wig I have needs to be straightened and is wavy.

We're two months away from Ft. Lauderdale Animefest, and I would like to start working on my cosplay but I don't know where to start. I've done a costume like this in the past, in which I dressed up as a Pz. IV for Halloween but I'm having trouble with this idea as this time I will be representing one of the characters in the tank; Helmet-Chan (See the last photo). I've found cardboard for the tank and a pattern on Etsy for the Tanker Helmet, but it's the mostly the tanker jacket that I'm stuck with. As expected, tanker jackets are not cheap! The tanker jackets I found available are priced over $100, which would be expensive for a piece of clothing I'm only intending to wear once. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any patterns for the jacket, and no military surplus stores are around my area. I am most likely going to find a normal brown jacket similar to the design and sew on the star. Additionally, in the series one of the other characters uses a Radio Intercepting Balloon, but I'm wishy-washy over having it wrapped around my back as it may be too much (I was planning on 3d printing the balloon, then using wire). This is the character sua from zombie stage, I’m a bit clueless on what to do for her “flesh” parts for my cosplay. I was thinking of doing makeup for the face and shoulder but I’m scared it’s going to transfer onto the white dress or gloves by accident. And for the leg I suppose makeup or paint could work aswell but is there anyway to thin down my thigh so it skinny enough to look like the bone part?( obviously not THAT skinny but just enough that it’s noticeable and looks like flesh from my leg is missing, I was thinking some sort of tape to wrap around my leg?)

Anyways if you have any suggestions please let me know! this might be a difficult one because her flesh parts done really look like flesh in the show! :,)

As the title says, I want to cosplay a car for a competition in September. It’s more of a joke-idea so it doesn’t have to be perfect but since I never did anything like that, it would be amazing to get some insight from others :D

This is my plan so far:
- I want to sit down on one of these boards with wheels people use to transport heavy furniture and maybe have a friend pull me
- the body of the car itself has to be transportable by train so I was planning on making the individual pieces foldable and out of cardboard and then taking a hot glue gun with me and finishing it right before the event
- the hood, trunk and main body of the car would be the three pieces I’d prepare kind of like a big paper craft template, paint beforehand and then assemble upon arriving.
- If possible I’d like to add a functional door with some kind of a hinge (possibly just a fold in the cardboard? Idk) to get in and out of the car on stage

What do you think of the plan? Does it sound like something that’s doable to you or am I being delusional? Do you have experience with this kind of craft and can possibly help me with some advice? I’m thankful for any kind of feedback!

(For reference: i’d call myself a skilled crafter, have done cosplays and made props for about five years but I’ve never made something even remotely as big as this out of cardboard)

Hot glue didn't stick. I'm trying to attach these lenses (one plastic, one cardboard) to this headband made with fake leather, to create some goggles as you can see in the last photo. But I can't think of a way to get the lenses to actually stick to the leather. It's not very grippy, so hot glue just doesn't stick. Any tips?

PS, the circular leather piece was my previous method of getting the larger lens to not fall off when the headband opened or closed. I had glued the fabric to the lens, and then glued the other side of the fabric to just 2 points of contact on the headband so that it could move flexibly. But the issue is that the hot glue simply doesn't stick to the material.

Hi all, I’m an amateur (second-timer) cosplayer and I’m trying to cosplay as a member of the Firebreathers from Fallout 76, an elite group within the Responders faction. Now I know I have to buy some firefighter gear and whatnot, but I cannot seem to find this kind of jacket. I know it’s a long coat as the Firefighters put it, but I cannot find the design or look for this kind of jacket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I am somewhat new to cosplay, and my next cosplay project is gambit, I have his costume and wig but I do not know where I can buy affordable Eye Contacts. The only options I found were ones that costed $150+ and $60+ which are not within my budget range.

Does anyone know any cheaper alternatives? Please and thank you.
