Playstation Is it just me, or is gaming media suddenly running a coordinated “physical is dead” campaign?
I scrolled through Facebook/gaming news pages today and you’ll see almost the exact same story from five different outlets within about 24 hours of each other and there many more of this
TheGamer: “Only 7 PlayStation games sold over 100k physical copies”
Gfinity Gaming: “Are physical games really as future-proof as we think?”
GamesRadar+: “When was the last time you bought a game on physical disc?” (bait engagement post)
TweakTown: “Your physical PS5 and PS4 game collection might not last as long as you think”
GameSpot: “Physical PS5 Game Sales Are Weaker Than You Might Expect”
Individually, any one of these is a normal news story. All five hitting the same day, using the same stat, the same framing, and the same “digital is inevitable” undertone?
What do you guys think on sudden attack on physical ownership and that makes me furious
