After more than a year of using claude and claude code exclusively, and being subscribed to the pro plan, i always thought id stay team anthropic forever, but today i cancelled my subscription because i've had enough, not only does anthropic have way stricter limits than openAI and gemini, which is already bad enough! And now they decide to remove fable from the pro plan completely meanwhile openAI offers a similarly capable model with higher usage limits and included in the 20$ plan! Anthropic's downfall seems to be inevitable. Waiting for gemini 3.5 pro to see if we stay team openai or join team google!
I have a Pro account and we have recently got $100 in usage credits for Fable so I thought let's give it a try. I enabled that and I have merely done a little bit of code work, barely 30 minutes, and it's already like $12 of them is just gone. Can you believe it? Pro membership is $20 and lasts me a month whereas just 30 minutes of work just takes away $12. That's just crazy.
So, I've been running two accounts, and have had this applied to one and not the other. Only a matter of time till it rolls out to everyone.
Instead of Opus 4.6 showing its normal thinking, the system has changed it to vague, half-sentence summaries, so you don't get to read it anymore and make sure it's on the right track.
This was one of the only genuinely better features Anthropic had against GPT - to be able to actually check its thinking process and whether it was understanding what you said. Hope it's not permanent, but we'll see!

Looks like Anthropic removed reasoning summaries in the latest update. I used it a lot to see how Claude works with a specific prompt and if there’s a bug or any problem in the process and how to fix it. This is a mayor L if it will not comeback.
It says I used 75% of my weekly allowance. How? I haven’t seen that since I got rid of my pro plan. Plus this is probably wrong considering my session went from 90% used to 97% used some time this week but that’s another problem—WHY DOES THE FREE PLAN HAVE A WEEKLY USAGE?

When I accepted the $100 for Fable credits, Claude Code sneakily turned on Usage credits AND Unlimited Monthly spend limit. While using Opus 4.8, it just kept going while I was away and didn't notice this. Now it seems I've spent about $10 bucks. I wonder who is going to pay for this...
So on the max 20X subscription the rate at which I use tokens and see the percentage go up seems way slower then when using these promo credit offers. I'm gauging this on doing basically the same sort of tasks but it just seems off. Anyone else notice this?
I didn't open a single conversation, ask a single question, or post a single task, and my credit limit just disappeared. And this isn't the first or second time. I'm using Claude Pro.

Please, I’m confused about token usage. I’m a free user, and when I open the Claude app, it already shows that 53% of my tokens have been used… without me typing anything, without sending anything—just by opening Claude. My project is more on documentation and policy/ SOP making and Fable helps a lot by producing complete SOP unlike the other lower models which only produces limited sections per document. I've been using CC and Codex back and forth past 6 months and have prioritize efficiency and optimization. I went ahead and bought Max 20x yesterday and already out of fable and 88% of the weekly.
My codebase is nowhere near "large" but work on a lot of projects and optimize with good MDs and skills to get things done.
Anyone else notice anything change recently, this is definitely not normal compared to what im used to. Most times I rarely read 90% throughout the week.
Eu utilizo o Claude Code e não, eu não tinha nenhuma atividade em segundo plano (Agente), não tinha routines habilitada, não tenho API de token habilitada na Claude, simplesmente meu limite semanal foi de 18% e foi para 99% e o Fable 5 que consumiu. Eu nunca utilizei o Fable e se pudesse desabilitar no Claude Code eu desabilitava!
Conversei com o Fin (Suporte da Claude no chat) e ele não consegue fazer nada por isso. Cara, no mínimo quero retornar meu limite semanal para 0% por conta desse erro da Claude ou um reembolso.

was perfect for a full month. not a single error made. This last week, is confused, forgetting context, forgetting goals of the project, not executing, giving up mid prompt if it cant figure it out, bad execution, bad debugging.
how is token use on fable5? Opus is borderline unusable. i have to run the first prompt through codex or gpt just to walk through claude on how to execute the code...

Me acaba de pasar en esta sesión, de la nada mi uso se disparó tengo Max 5x, ya llevo tiempo usándolo ya Masomenos conozco aprox el uso que me va a consumir cada prompt.
Me levanté y continúe mi proyecto en el que estaba trabajando, mandé un mensaje a Claude code para que hiciera algunas cosas y todo normal, me gasto lo usual, después fui a cowork, que es donde hago auditorías, revisiones etc, de lo que haya hecho Claude code, osea como que en Claude code ejecutó y en cowork discuto, y mandé un mensaje a cowork de algo muy sencillo que ya he pedido varias veces y se quedó pensando 15 minutos, lo cual ya se me hizo muy raro, para lo que le pedí son 4-5 minutos como máximo, y me metí a mi uso y como un putazo, 64% de uso de mi sesión de 5 horas, 64% en los primeros mensajes, y encima mi uso semanal salto al 50% la verdad no me había fijado antes cuánto uso semanal tenía pero ayer la última vez que revisé era 28-32%, fue un salto muy grande solo por un mensaje simple a cowork, jamás jamás me había consumido tanto uso, que hable con soporte a preguntar que podría haber pasado y me dijo que justamente estaban resolviendo unos problemas, me decía que hace 1 hora habían resuelto algo que probablemente si pudo haber afectado directamente a mi problema (ya no indague más de eso), y después pregunte acerca de eso, y me dice que (al momento que le contesté) que hace 3 minutos detectaron un error y lo estaba revisando que si podría afectar mi uso de el error y para seguir la resolución me dió este link https://stspg.io/3c161l5nt3kz y si en efecto en el tiempo que me dijo detectaron según relacionado a la creacion de documento algo así no investigue más, la verdad nose si si este relacionado a mi problema, ya he leído varios comentarios hablando del exceso de uso consumido, y ahora me toco a mi, la verdad no se que sea, y n siquiera me deja detener el output, sigue pensando ya apenas después de 20 minutos me contestó cowork y sigue pensando, realmente nose que está pasando, ya voy a 72% de uso de 5 horas, nose si a alguien más le habra pasado esto que me acaba de pasar pero de verdad fue excesivo el salto en el uso, de un segundo a otro, por un prompt demasiado simple.
Espero y receten el uso, hay varias especulaciones y filtraciones con que opus 5 sale mañana jueves, y espero que venga con un reset, me imagino que esto que me acaba de pasar a mi le pasó a mucha gente al mismo tiempo, o nose capaz y solo me pasó a mi pero lo dudo mucho.
