I'm confused. Even though it is marked Presto, it's played slower than the Scherzo in the second movement. I know it's also marked agitato, but is that really enough reason to play it that "slow". Correct me if I'm wrong :)))))

As a Chopin fan, I really love many of his works, especially Études and Préludes. One of my favorites is definitely Op. 25 No. 7.

I can’t believe that I only found out these arrangements for Cello and Piano today!! They are gorgeous!! I prefer the second one, because I feel that D minor fits the dramatic tone and character of the piece more than E minor. What do you think?

there’s a fashion trend that is following rappers and singers style. i don’t see why, being a classical listener couldn’t i do the same. has anybody got any information about it?

I’ve been playing piano for almost eight years now and my piano teacher gave me this piece as a jump for me from pieces around MMTA Level 8 (Grade 6 level in ABRSM and Grade 8 in RCM) I’ve finished learning the first and last page but the Con fuoco part is whats the problem. I have small hands which can comfortably reach an octave but not a ninth which is really making the right hand difficult for me. Most of these double sixths are manageable on slow speed but some of these (ex. m 27, 30) are very uncomfortable to me. It’s also hard to play these double sixths quickly. The left hand is actually fairly easy, however the passage from m 27-28 is extremely uncomfortable. I know I can handle this piece but due to these reasons I stated above, I’ve generally tried avoiding this part. Any tips?

My new arrangement of Prelude No. 2 in A Minor is out today on all streaming platforms. This track is part of an ongoing project to adapt Chopin's Op. 28 Preludes into a rock format.

I have a few simple rules that guide the arrangements and production:

1. It should sound like Chopin lived in modern times, picked up a Strat instead of a Steinway, and joined a Seattle rock band.
2. Absolutely no piano in the track. Only electric guitars, bass, drums, and sometimes light organ padding for atmosphere.
3. Most (>95%) of the notes from the original score should appear in the recording, but they can be played by any instrument.
4. Small changes to notes of the original score are acceptable only if they are beneficial/required for the transition to a rock format, are tastefully done, and make musical sense.

I am working on No. 3 and I hope to have it out soon!
