Hey I’m a new immigrant here in Canada (please educate me haha) and I just wanna ask if I’m a full-time student with bachelor program, starting this Fall 2026, when will I graduate? Will I graduate in 2028? I mean, this is what I’m thinking lol. Is this correct?

Year 1 - Terms: Fall 2026, Winter 2027
Year 2 - Terms: Spring 2027, Summer 2027
Year 3 - Terms: Fall 2027, Winter 2028
Year 4 - Terms: Spring 2028, Summer 2028

Hey, i applied for student housing pretty close to the deadline, not at all by choice. As you might expect, ive been waiting since then for an awnser.

I finally emailed on july 8th telling them about my situation and asking if there was anything i could do or any steps i could take, because im 17 and its super hard to find housing that i can afford and roommates within my age range.

I dont have a car and i dont know what i will do if i dont get student housing.

However, they had replied back and told me there were under 20 spots back and that my best bet would be renting.. but they didnt say my place on the waitlist or if it was a definite no that id be accepted.

Before i had emailed they said the next housing update would be july 14th. I waited all day july 14th and i got no email. Its been silence since.

They said in a zoom meeting to email them if we didnt get in and really needed in and so i did and they didnt do much..

Is it a good sign i havent heard back from them? I haven't been officially declined or anything. But do i email again or wait it out?

Hey y’all! I just finished my first year at KPU, and I’m interested in transferring to CapU and going into their Costuming for Stage and Screen program for Fall 2027. I don’t know much about this program and would love to hear from current students or graduates about their experience with the program. 

If anyone could answer any of my questions that would be wonderful and much appreciated! 

1. What is the program/courses like? Is it very lecture heavy? Or more hands-on and practical?

2. Is the program worth it? Do you learn a lot?

3. Is it hard or competitive to get into the program? Like do I have to be a hard-core sewist/designer? I would say I’m about beginner-intermediate level when it comes to my sewing skills, but I truly have a passion for costuming and would love to learn more and improve my skills. I have created/sewed a couple of cosplays, and my most recent one was made primarily from scratch. 

4. Is it easy to get a job after graduating? Or is the job market very tough?

I’m looking for some advice. I don’t have any accounting or bookkeeping background. I completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, and I’m currently exploring career options.
I’m considering taking a Bookkeeping program at either Langara College or Capilano University. Do you think bookkeeping is a good career to get into right now? Is it possible to find an entry-level job without any previous accounting experience after completing the program?
I’m also considering studying Payroll instead. Which option would you recommend—Bookkeeping or Payroll.
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thank you!

I live abroad and want to apply next year for 2d animation but I'm very nervous because my life drawing skills are still not that good and I may hone my skills alot before submission. I think I may not get it because of the number of people applying or portfolios better then mine. Can someone give me an idea of what talent I need to be accepted?

Note I draw since I was young but slack off on it but I have experience in animation even if it's chopped and my drawing skills is very good visually but no bone structure gesture

I’m a BC student and under the prerequisite it sounded like I did not have to take the English test because I’m over 67% in English 12 but when I tried to register it said there was a prerequisite and test error? Does anyone know what to do or also experienced it

Hi! I’m an international student attending Capilano University this Fall for ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education). I apply for classes soon but I’m a little overwhelmed and confused with how everything works and I was hoping to get a little help 🙏

As someone who went to trade school. All my classes, scheduling and requirements to graduate were set up for me so this time where we get an option to choose certain classes and build our own schedule is throwing me out the loop… so I apologise in advance if any of my questions sound a little dim witted

For the first Level 100 ECCE courses there’s 9 classes. Ive also been informed that I should apply for ENGL 100 so does this mean I should apply for 10 classes??..

I’ve been warned about being waitlisted or not getting a class you applied for due to it being full

Normally how many classes should I apply for? And are there any recommendations of what classes I should start with in my first year?

So I'm on a Budget so it'd be nice to know what other animation students are starting the semester with in terms of tech. Do I need a dedicated PC, a cintiq, or a light table? I'm starting this fall 2026 so any advice is great :)

Hey everyone , i just got accepted to the 3d animation program , i wanted to ask if there is anyone doing that program ? How do you feel about it ? Is it worth it ? Im an international student so its very expensive , i want to look for scholarships, awards , bursaries , etc... is it accesible for International students to get this type of awards to help with tuiton ? Does anyone have any experience with the Outdoor Filmmaking Certificate program? I’m a landscape photographer and videographer and want to improve some of my skills and make connections with people interested in combining filmmaking with nature/outdoors

I’ve looked online but haven’t seen much about the program besides some info on the CapU website. I’m assuming it’s new this year? Just looking for an honest opinion on what the program is or could be like as well as how the school as a whole is for someone not from the area.

Hello I got accepted in to the ASAS program. (Acting for stage and screen) and I want to know what to expect. Also for the schedules I know it’s a cohort system and we are told what classes to take when I get my time card it does tell you which ones to take right?

What stands out to me is that it’s not just for standard undergrads—it’s built for a massive mix of people. You’ve got working professionals, community volunteers, and recent high school grads all in the same room. Since it’s part-time, it seems way more realistic for people who are already working full-time but want to pivot their careers.

Since sustainability is such a huge part of the culture and local economy up the Sea to Sky corridor, I'm curious:

• Has anyone here checked out the campus or looked into this certificate?
• Do you think niche certificates like this are the future of adult upskilling?
