Questions Samsung ST66

I recently bought a digital camera and don't know how to take better photos with it.

I don't know if it's just me, but the lens seems to be dirty or something similar, as I see a whitish cast in all the photos.

Does anyone have tips on how to get the most out of the camera, how to clean the lens, etc.?

Questions Streaks on Viewfinder Glass - Cannon 2000

Post image
Upvotes

Hello everyone - I was wondering if you'd be able to help me identify what these streaks are on my camera's Viewfinder glass. I've tried wiping them away using my breath and a microfibre cloth, but they don't seem to be going away. As a side note I bought this camera from CeX in the UK a day ago. I'm hoping they aren't scratches.

Thank You.

Recommendations Reusable disposable cameras

Hi,

After a long time of using disposable cameras and seeing the environmental and financial disadvantages to that, I finally want to change to a reusable one. But I still want the exact same features and lowkey shitty quality as well as not having to mind if it breaks or not when I throw it in my bag. So I looked for a camera and was overwhelmed with the amount of possibilities. My favorite disposable camera till now was the Fujifilm Quicksnap – Do you now any camera that comes close to this one or do you have any recommendations (preferably under 70€)?

I saw the KODAK EC35 35 mm Film Camera and the Kodak M35 Reusable 35 mm Iconic Retro Film Camera which both looked promising for what I am looking for but at the same time I really do not know anything about cameras...

Thank you all so much already ((:

Tech Support Issue with my Finepix s7000

Post image

At first sight it might seem like a senzor issue but i believe it is not. For example when i put in fresh batteries the issue goes away. But after a while this starts to happen again. I think the issue is with the power supply. I took the camera apart and tried to renew the solder connections to the metal chassis. After that the issue went away for a bit than returned. When i tilt the camera in a certain way it sometimes goes back to normal. Does anyone have any experience with such issue or an idea of how to fix it.

Camera Collection Unbelievable sharpness-Hasselblad Super Wide C (SWC) camera

Post image

In this week's camera collecting blog, I write about the Hasselblad Super Wide C.

In my opinion, it's one of the most desirable vintage medium-format cameras ever made. Its fixed Carl Zeiss Biogon 38mm lens, mechanical precision, and iconic SWC design make it a standout piece in any serious collection.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with a classic treasure.

(Disclaimer: English isn’t my first language)

I recently bought this camcorder on Vinted. It works great except for the fact that when I put in a SD-card it won’t put it on the SD-card. I checked the SD-card on another camera and seems to work. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

Questions How broken is my lens (Olympus pen E PL1)

When the lens is fully extended and I press the on button, it makes a strange buzzing as it does the autofocus thing, so I just inspected the lens and this bit looks a bit suspicious . It looks like the broken bulging bit has snapped some of the plastic which you can see when the lens is fully extended. The camera still seems to take pictures fine.
I haven’t dropped it or done anything else similar. It’s been travelling so maybe it has been knocked about in my case a bit. Of potential note is that I have waterproof housing for this and have taken it scuba diving ~30m. As fast as I know the housing hasnt leaked at all, but maybe pressure has done something (though it should be fine as this is within the confines of the waterproof housing hasnt leaked.
Image 1 shows the lens fully extended where you can see the bulge bit to the left inside, and image 2 shows the lens fullyf retracted where the bulge has now moved ‘inside’

ID Request Can anyone identify Peter's camera?

Post image

Peter Christopherson, photographer with the Hipgnosis design company, moonlighting here in 1980 for his side hustle band Throbbing Gristle...if you can't see him, then the camo wear is doing its job. But can anyone identify his camera in this photo? I'm attempting to work out how often he updated his gear - a 'did he always have the latest camera' kind of thing.

I saw the rule regarding not asking 'wot camra tuck dis foto?' but this take I hope is different...

Recommendations Recommendations for a family camera

Hi everyone,

Just after recommendations for a digital camera that will mainly just be used for random family moments/travels/capturing special events. I know next to nothing about cameras but am wanting to start the tradition of physical family albums and would like a camera that can capture the “feeling” of the moment rather than just the moment… if that makes sense lol. Inbuilt nostalgia is the best way I can put it.

I have an Olympus mju film camera and while I loveeeee the outcome of the pictures, it can get quite expensive to buy film and process it.

Thank you!

Budget: $800 MAX

Country: Australia

Condition: new or used

Type of Camera: Mirrorless (I think)

Intended use: hybrid but mostly photography at this point

Portability: as portable as it can be!

Cameras you're considering: love the look of fujifilm photos but am worried about the size of the camera

Cameras you already have: Olympus mju and I love every damn thing about it!

Me and my dad found this camera while we were cleaning, It had a manual but it was so old that it ripped, I mean it was reduced to shreds. I just want to know some cool facts about this little guy, and one of my biggest questions/concerns is that it doesnt play audio from videos. I swear it did once. I swear it did. I might have remembered wrong though. Please share facts about it if you can.

Recommendations Fujifilm X-T30 III for beginner?

• Budget: €1500 total
• Country: the Netherlands
• Condition: new or used (if I really know there aren’t a lot of signs of use).
• Type of Camera: mirrorless
• Intended use: mostly photography, but the option to make videos is also nice.
• If photography; what style: travel (hiking), everyday life and portraits. Maybe sometimes astrography (but it’s more hobby).
• If video what style: travel (hiking) and everyday life.
• What features do you absolutely need:
Least editing AFTER taking the photo.
Good depth
• Portability: preferably lightweight. If possible, fitting in a daypack.
• Cameras you're considering: Fujifilm X-T30 III, or another fujifilm. But a camera shop employee told me Canon EOS R50 is the best for beginners.
• Cameras you already have: none, I’m an absolute beginner
• Notes: Since my total budget is €1500 and the camera body/kit will take up a big chunk of that, what are the best compact lens recommendations to get that "good depth" on landscape photos?

Recommendations Canon R50 carry case?

I'm going to get a Canon R50 Twin Lens kit (so the 18-45mm and the 55-210mm) soon and I need a camera case for it, only a carry case not a really heavy duty case. Does anyone have any suggestions?
