Discussion [COD] What was your first Call of Duty?

What was your first Call of Duty, what system did you start on, and how were you introduced to Call of Duty?

I started off with Black Ops 1 on the PS3. I got introduced to it because my older brother got it for Christmas, and he allowed me to play it and I remember just falling in love with it. This today is still my all time favorite video game

Discussion [BO2] - MW19 will be older at MW4's launch than BO2 was at MW19's launch

When Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026, Modern Warfare 2019 will have been out longer than the original Black Ops 2 had been out when Modern Warfare 2019 released.

Scary how fast time passes!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Black Ops 1/2 ports.

Discussion Why has call of duty got so fast [COD]

I don’t understand why everything has got so fast, look how good of a reaction Black ops 1 has got. Please look at what made the old games great and implement them in the new games. Including match making and map design it really not hard

Discussion [BO2] SMG’s Hard to control on PS5

Post image
34 Upvotes

After the latest deadzone update, I went back to comparing the PS5 version with the original PS3 version, and I still don’t understand why SMGs feel so much harder to control.
Do you guys remember how we used to beam people from surprisingly long distances with the PDW or MSMC back on PS3? Now it feels almost impossible to get a Long Shot medal with an SMG.
My biggest issue is the aiming. Fine adjustments feel way too sensitive. Even on the lowest sensitivity, making tiny corrections feels incredibly fast. But if I lower my sensitivity any further, tracking becomes awful. If I raise it, long-range fights become much harder.
Am I the only one who feels like I can control almost every weapon except SMGs because it’s so difficult to make those small, precise aim adjustments onto the target?

Discussion Missing the fun [BO1] [BO2]

Post image
Upvotes

So iv been a ps3 gamer since 2022 I always wanted to be on Playstation since I was a kid but all my friends where Xbox. But I remember the summer of BO2 and that was probably the best summer of my gaming life. But now with the ports out and everyone playing them I want to play them so bad but dont have a ps4 or ps5. It feels even if its a little that the summer of black ops is back and im missing out. Iv been so tempted to max out my credit card just to play them. I know I can play them on ps3 but its just not the same waiting sometimes 20mins between games or no one on at all. So just wondering is it feel as good as it was? Does the magic feel back?

Discussion [COD] Funky timeline

Post image
14 Upvotes

I feel like no one talks about how, because of warzone, the Black Ops timeline is the definitive main timeline and that Dark Aether zombies is canon to it. And if anyone did, I never noticed. I just think its super interesting and wanted to see other people's opinions on it. This list is everything in chronological order as far as I am aware.

Edit: I've been made aware that Bo4 takes place before Bo3, that WW2 is canon, and the Black Ops Declassified exists.

Corrections: WaW+WW2

Declassified goes somewhere between bo1 and the bo2 flashbacks

Bo4->bo3

Discussion [BO2] Anyone else's lobbies filled to the brim with snipers & quickscopers?

Now I'm not one of those guys that thinks quick/hard scoping or whatever shouldn't be allowed in CoD. It's a valid playstyle and you can play the game however you want.

BUT when the lobby is 90% snipers it makes the match so fucking dead, slow, lame, and annoying because no one is moving anywhere and just camping in spawn or headglitching every corner and window. It reminds me of the new MW games at their worst, where people just post up on somewhere and mount their weapons so anyone that dares move an inch just gets obliterated from every angle, which is the exact OPPOSITE of the experience I want from CoD and why I bought this re-release to begin with LOL

And then to top it off when the snipers realize this is a lobby where some people AKA me and usually a few others know how to flank and farm snipers they fucking LEAVE and now the lobby has like 5 people in it total.

I realize I'm preaching to the choir here but I'm hoping this is a temporary thing as people are farming camos or leveling up weapons.

I don't remember it being this bad back in the OG days.

Question [BO] [BO2] should I get Black ops 2 or black ops 1?

Wassup everyone, I never played neither of the two as I’m fairly young lol, I remember bo3 and ghost were so good. I wanted to cop both honestly as I have a discount, but I’ve been reading people mention problem in matchmaking like people leaving and not being able to find lobbies. If I were to cop 1 for now, which one should I get? Thanks a lot guys

Discussion [MW2] [MW3] Did Russia face any consequences in Modern Warfare?

I recently replayed the modern warfare trilogy after only playing them once when they came out. I realized something I haven't realized when I played it the first time but the ending results of the war is deeply unsatisfying. Russia launched an all out attack on the US killing millions of civilians in the process for no reason because they were too stupid to launch a correct investigation. Then they attack europe for absolutely no reason. There wasn't even a terrorist attack. They just attacked them like that while under Makarovs leadership.

They then take it out on the civilian population literally enslaving them in a way. Then the Delta- and Task-Force are even risking their lives to save President Vorshevsky who started the war and all that is implied is that after he gets back into power he signs a peace treaty with NATO and thats it? There is no implying that Russia faced any consequences for what they did whatsoever. Don't get me wrong. I am aware it's just a game and ofc being a shooter its more focused on the action than it is on the politics behind it but come on. You're telling me that I have to witness my own country getting demolished and innocent civilians dying and I can't even make them pay for it properly? You can't tell me I'm the only who is kinda pissed off about this.

Discussion ( [MW3] Modern Warfare 3 ) What is y'alls opinion on reboot Makarov

I'm trying to get into the fandom more than just being hyperfixated on it so I thought asking an opinion would be a good place to start. I personally love reboot Makarov and he's my favourite design of Makarov. I honestly am interested in peoples take on this topic :D

Discussion [BO] Interesting detail about the first Black Ops mission

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, just wanted to share a little cool detail that I learned about the first mission in the Black Ops campaign!

In the first mission, OP40, the mission plays amidst the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961 - a real life CIA sponsored operation - where Mason, Woods, and Bowman are tasked with assassinating Castro

In the beginning, when you are in the Cuban informant’s bar, “Quimbara” by Celia Cruz and Johnny Pacheco is playing in the background.

Interestingly enough, Celia Cruz, the singer of the song, permanently left Cuba on July 15th, 1960 after a tour in Mexico. She and her family were banned from the country due to Celia famously denouncing the Castro regime and vowing to never return. She would only return once in 1990 for a performance at the Guantanamo Bay US Naval station.

I’m not sure if her music itself was banned from being played openly in Cuba, but it made me think that this was perhaps a reason the Cuban soldiers entered the bar to shake down the people inside, unless her song being played was just for atmosphere or a mistake.

This campaign has so many cool small details such as this :D I’d love to hear everyone else’s findings or thoughts on this

Discussion How crazy is having Avenged Sevenfold in Black Ops II? [BO2] Spoiler

Upvotes

I just finished the campaign (which I did thousands of times back in the day) and I still find crazy that the developers said at some point “okay, we got a bunch of thousands of dollars left for the game’s budget, what should we do?”…

…and some dude thought that getting Avenged F**king Sevenfold to play a song alongside Woods and Menéndez as the post credit scene, starring almost every character of the campaign as the public with a bunch of cameos and easter eggs from the franchise, was the best idea. And it was. I wish they gave that guy a bonus. F**king legend.

Bug [BO2] Are the non-season pass and season pass players in the same lobbies?

Upvotes

At first I thought it was a strong dislike people have towards DLC maps that made them leave the lobbies, but now it just seems strange. For the last 15 minutes I've been trying to find a proper lobby since whenever random settles on a DLC map more than half the people in the lobby disappear instantly. Could it be because they don't own the season pass?

I do get some DLC games sometimes but they are few and far between...

Question So if Black Ops 2 is in 2025 and Modern Warfare 4 is in 2026, doesn’t this create an inconsistency in the shared timeline because BO2 tech is more advanced? [BO2]

I’ve been told Black Ops and the Reboot Modern Warfare saga now share a timeline. Unless the advanced Black Ops 2 technology is referenced in Modern Warfare 4 somehow it isn’t going to make much sense how we had active camo in 2025 and now we’re back to grounded technology in 2026…

Question [BO] can I play split screen with bots on the new ps5 port. Ive seen conflicting things. Whats the difference between that and combat training?

Considering buying this and want to play with younger brother. Split screen is a deal breaker
