First cpa test (FAR) coming up this friday (6/24/26). I have just under 200 hours in Becker & have my undergrad in acct from Loyola Uni Chicago.

Took all 3 Becker sims, felt decent abt them.

Any tips or strategies for test day @ prometric?

Hi all, just finished F1 and having trouble, not with like easy foreign currency transactions but the concept questions talking about a currency depreciating/appreciating. I always seem to pick the opposite of the correct answer. Any resources to utilize to grasp this topic better? For context been using Becker.

I shared my license forms to Guam board and the license fees deduct 3 months and sent many reminders and no response from Guam board

Is that ordinary process and taking too much time i just wondering and need assistance to whom should i contact.

I am waiting on my results on my final test to hopefully go 4/4 and I was wondering if once I become a CPA i would receive a salary increase.

I currently work in EY and I know you receive a one time bonus if you pass it in the first two years of you joining, but I was also expecting some sort of increase to my annual salary as a result of my license.

I spoke with my counselor and he told me that they did not consider the CPA when giving out increases. I find this hard to believe given the need for CPAs in the industry. Can anyone confirm whether this is common practice among the firm?

I'm 32 just graduated from MBA business analytics but I want to get a CPA so I can have my own firm in the future, can I do it without a deeper accounting background how can I validate my credits and what are the steps to do?

I am creating an online marketing SAAS platform (like Yelp or Groupon - sort of).  

My service will offer referral "Bucks" to be used at discounts at participating businesses.  This will be similar to airline miles. Basically, if someone refers a business to my platform, I give them like $50 in promotion credits (bucks), to be used like at a restaurant they like.  The restaurant gives the discount, and I pay the business back.

My question is, do I need to give a 1099 to the customer who to get the discount?  So if they got say $4000 for referring a bunch of businesses in discount bucks, do I need to worry about that from an IRS perspective?

I’m not sure honestly this is just from chatgbt , as I’m currently studying for FAR , If anyone has taken FAR recently, I’d love to know if you’d change anything based on your exam experience.

I took FAR today. The MCQs were easier than Backer but all 7 of my TBSs were extremely hard and they didn't look like any I practiced on Becker. I felt unsure with every answer I put. I do not think I passed due to these TBSs. I had to scramble at the last TBS cuz I only had 5 minutes to do it, but time ran out anyway. 238 hours of studying and I feel so defeated. If I fail what do I do? How do I study??? I know I definitely have to practice those TBSs right?

I took FAR today and walked out feeling absolutely defeated.
I honestly feel like I bombed at least 5 of the 7 SIMs. My MCQs felt okay, but the SIMs completely destroyed my confidence, and the exam felt very different from what I expected based on Becker.

For reference, my Becker Sim Exam scores were 62 and 69, so I went into the exam feeling cautiously optimistic. Now I feel like I failed.

Has anyone had similar Becker SE scores, walked out convinced they failed because of the SIMs, and still ended up passing? I’d really appreciate hearing your experience because it’s hard not to overthink everything.

The MCQs started off really wordy and much more in detail than what Becker has, however, going into the later questions, they started becoming much simpler.

The first 2 TBS cooked me, I went into testlet 3 with 2 hours and 15 mins remaining and it took me 70 mins to do the first two due to how complex and foreign in concept they were.

I thought I was cooked cause I had 65 mins for the remaining 5 TBS but surprisingly I finished them in 60 mins and found them to be really straight-forward.

Overall, I found the exam to be really fair, and some questions were even the same as in Becker.

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for the Texas CPA Application of Intent and have a foreign bachelor's degree.

I know that I need to include the Foreign Credential Evaluation Form with my Application of Intent and have my foreign transcripts evaluated. My confusion is about filling out the application itself.

The application asks for:

Total semester hours

Accounting semester hours

Business semester hours

Since my foreign transcripts haven't been evaluated yet, what am I supposed to enter in these fields? Do I leave them blank, estimate them from my foreign transcripts, or do something else?

If anyone has gone through the Texas Board process with a foreign degree, I'd really appreciate hearing how you completed this section of the application.

Holy smokes I have never encountered sims so wordy. Felt good on MC but the sims were worded so weird.

Just finished SE1 and now I’m overthinking everything. 😅 If you’ve already taken TCP, would you mind sharing your SE scores and your actual exam score?

So far - I’ve been blessed to have passed FAR and Audit, and only have REG and TCP remaining in the next few months.

Even though I know I am more than halfway there (based on difficulty) - it’s still so difficult finding motivation and perseverance especially when it’s already cost so much (from a time/energy/relationship perspective).

It’s hard having to be selfish and carve out time, when it’s not even something necessarily enjoyable. It’s one thing to get in trouble with the wife/family for golfing on a Saturday - but at least in that case, i am getting something enjoyable out of the equation.

Anyone else have similar thoughts/feelings? I can’t help but to think that even after this journey is finally over, as relieved as I will be to have that license, I wouldn’t ever say I’d do it again or recommend it

I just started studying for FAR. Any tips I should know that will help me out for my future exam? Specific sections I should make sure I know? Any study tips?

I am taking the TCP exam on July 30. I’m using Becker to study and I already watched all of the lectures and went through the entire textbook. I didn’t do the MCQs or sims yet but I’m starting to do them now and I am flying through them. I feel pretty good with all of the material and like a lot of it is pretty easy. I’m going to be studying all day everyday until the 30th to really make sure I know the stuff. I also plan on doing the mini exams and simulated exams too. Do you think that if I finish the MCQs, sims, mini exams, and simulated exams by Sunday and just do review from Sunday to Thursday that I will be ready for the exam???

Sitting for Aud in 8/15 and it is my LAST EXAM!! Just started studying for it which gives me little over 3 weeks. Is this doable? And if anyone could give recommendations/tips/tricks please let me know.. I am desperate to finish all of this :(

I got 83% on my first simulated exam, but just got a 68% on my second.. based on the pass w Jack Becker bump it looks like most people do worse on the second but idk how to feel? I actually felt decent about that one haha. For those who have taken ISC - what are your thoughts? Should I just continue to review until my exam on Monday as normal?

I paid the fee for the TCP NTS three business days ago, but the NTS has not yet been issued. It is usually released as soon as I paid. Is it normal?

I applied to sit for the CPA exam in my jurisdiction on May 26, 2026. At the time, I accidentally submitted a transcript that showed my degree as pending rather than officially awarded.

On June 3, NASBA marked my application academically deficient because I was “lacking bachelor degree.” The email said that I could submit updated academic documentation and be reevaluated within 30 days.

I submitted my final transcript on June 10, which clearly shows that my bachelor’s degree was conferred. The National Student Clearinghouse confirmed that NASBA retrieved the transcript, but I never received confirmation or any other communication from NASBA.

On July 1, I emailed the NASBA coordinator to ask whether the transcript had been received, but I did not receive a response. I assumed there was a delay because of the volume of applications.

I called NASBA on July 21. The representative told me that they simply needed to attach the degree information to my application and that processing would contact me if anything else was needed. She also said that my new transcript appeared to show the required degree conferral.

However, on July 22, I received an email stating that my application was ineligible. The email did not explain why, and it does not appear that my updated transcript was evaluated.

According to my jurisdiction requirements, I should qualify because I now have a conferred bachelor’s degree and at least 30 accounting hours, including three hours of business law.

Has anyone experienced something similar with NASBA? I would greatly appreciate any advice on what to do next. Thank you.

Just walked out of reg and feel the same way I did walking out of FAR and AUD which was I could’ve failed or could’ve passed. I scored pretty well on beckers SE (SE1:81, SE2:88, SEFR: 83). How does everyone else feel that tested today? side note- why is the AICPA so petty when it comes to tricking us? I mean like seriously…
