Chillin on Melrose, love the attitude

i am sorry to be an annoying/complaining biker, but i have been biking up knickerbocker for work for ~5-6 years, and i am just struck how this business always has trucks or machines parked in the bike line, PLUS cars/trucks parked in parking line. so, bikers are forced onto knickerbocker which is often a busy car throughway, especially during rush hour. i genuinely feel shock/relief when i come up to this corner and am able to pass through on the bike lane.

i understand that cars and trucks and businesses need to use the bike lane sometimes, morgan just beyond here is also a madhouse a lot of the time, but what can you do with those huge businesses lining the street. this one business just really bothers me!!!

does anyone know anything about this business? or can anyone commiserate?

I live in Bushwick, Marco does not. On saturday during the storm my porter had to leave work urgently because his pregnant wife and son were at home while their basement apartment flooded. I’m still paying him despite missing shifts, and I’ve already sent him some money myself, just trying to see if there’s anyone out there beyond my normal IG circles that’s able to donate - every bit helps.

I always wanted to join a sapphic book club, but all those I came across are focused on contemporary books, or queer only themes.

I am still digging through classics, especially russian and ancient greek literature at the moment. Would love other likeminded queer women including transgender and non binary folks to form a little literary salon with me. I'm looking to rent a basement apartment that is on Stockholm between Irving and Wyckoff. I'm aware that knickerbocker can badly flood especially during flash flood type weather.

Was curious does anyone live on the block? How has it been for you with flooding. Have you delt with it at all? If so how often ?

Are there other things I should be concerned about (sewers backing up?)
