Just don't expect to get a good price when silver rips. I have one of those bars, and the best deal I got offered when it was launching into triple digits was -20% premium

I My LCS had a couple of 1000 oz during the peak... absolute beasts.

I've been with bullionstar for about 4 years - always a breeze ordering with them. Customer service has been great as well, able to answer all of my questions. Give them a go

My go-tos are Monument Metals for price, and APMEX for selection. I’ve also used JM Bullion, SD Bullion, Bold, and BGASC. Just do a little basic research before buying, and steer clear of anyplace that calls you, advertises on tv or by mail, etc.

JM 100oz bars are one of the more desirable large-format silver pieces going. Johnson Matthey stopped producing after Asahi bought them, so these are discontinued/legacy, which adds a bit of vintage/collector appeal on top of the silver.
Any dealer or private buyer knows JM instantly, so it's among the easiest 100oz bars to sell, that recognition's worth more than the small premium when you exit.

Buyers are focusing mostly on 1,5, 10 ounce bars . The 100 ounce bars are too expensive for average buyer. What if the price goes to 200 $ which some analyst postulate

My local coin shop was still $1 under spot this past weekend so “stack on”!
r/Bullion • u/cmiGoldSilver • 1d ago
Actually 90% is still -$20 or more, back of "bid spot" to this day. Morgan/Peace silver Dollars are around-25% and more off of "Bid spot".
I would say good call on the .999 silver.
Definitely look around. Have fun preserving your wealth/stacking guys and always be safe about it.

Definitely something good to keep your eye on if you are still finding 90% under spot. The larger brokers are back to over spot a little, like +.45 - +.85. Then the buy back is still around -$20 back of bid spot or more even. So Yes, to agree with CougarDevilZ, hunt down those under spot deals while they last.

checked the terms, this is not how acre works. Balance builds until your available balance hits whatever price the bar is selling for. There is no fractional component of this.
This helps OPs case tremendously as she was buying into gold at $5000-$5500 and when the bar ships she'll be getting it at a 25% discount. And yet, she's still complaining.

but I know we’ve been there!
You've paid in $400 for a bar thats worth melt value of $650... What do you mean "I know we've been there?"
At this rate shipping is $200!
How on Earth do you figure that?
Did you mistype "5g" for "2.5g?"

Anything I can get at spot with no shipping fees (excpt junk, just not my jam).

Definitely not “always able” to find under spot 90% silver.
This didn’t exist just 18 months ago. 5-20% premiums were the norm for the prior decade.
Stuff like mercury dimes, walkers, bu 64 kennedies never really dipped below 20x face, even when melt was 13x. Silver dollars were even better as they were hard to find under $30 even when melt was $15.
Finding under melt silver by has become a norm that I would not get too comfortable with.

Also check out Provident Metals, Bold Precious Metals and BGASC. Stay away from those commercialized dealers. They are too high priced.

I’m with you on this. Few bars and rounds here just because they’re neat.
Add Monument Metals and bullion.com to that list. Shop the ‘Deals’ pages for spot price deals. Also, You’ll find better deals if you can wait and accumulate your money for at least 2 or 3 months and buy slightly larger coins or bars. At $400 you’re more likely to get scalped by premiums each time.
