Stop posting pictures in your underwear. Pt 3

Should you be adding muscle? Or should you be cutting fat? It’s a question we all have come across on our fitness journey. It’s not always a simple one to answer.

Love handles, pooches, lack of definition, vascularity…everything plays a part.

You lost a lot of weight, or you added a lot of weight. They are all part of the process. Everyone here is going to do our best to help you with your journey.

That being said:

The community does not need to see an excessive amount of skin to give you advice.

If you’re wondering what your BF% is, it’s not hiding in the 3/4 of an inch away from your genitalia. Swimwear is included in this.

This goes for all genders.

There are a ton of fitness subreddits that can help you if you feel the need to get more specified advice.

If you feel /r/bulkorcut is not meeting those standards, please go visit them.

The serious part:

Do not post sexually suggestive posts. If you are not wearing gym attire your post will be flagged and removed.

If your profile has links to questionable subreddits you will be banned at the moderators discretion.

Talk of steroids, cycles, or anything related will be an immediate ban.

Lastly:

Any attempt to circumvent the rules or a ban is auto reported to Reddit admins. We tested it and it works very well.

Second lastly: This is a subreddit to help individuals attain their goals. Not a platform for anything else. Sexual, monetary, cruel, or any other posts or comments outside helping someone make the decisions of bulking or cutting will be removed and users banned.

Report any third party links in this subreddit. Especially macromatic.

We do a pretty good job of keeping this sub clean of spam and sexual content. You all know the rule we hard enforced over the underage and then the underwear situation.

MacroMatic is a spam data stealing app that is being spammed here. I hope you read the terms of service before you upload anything to them but if you don’t feel like it here they are:

1: Their 4th agreement states you will, by agree to by using their application, allow the application to access all of your personal data. And they will be able to use it how they please.

https://imgur.com/a/9vBcR6n

2: 5th agreement (see above image) makes it so anything you contribute to the community (I assume a forum) YOU PERSONALLY are liable for. So if you use peanut butter in your shakes and suggest it you’re the one getting sued.

3: Their 6th agreement: https://imgur.com/a/ln0Hooo

The worst one.

They are saying they can use your image for promotion, manipulate it, use it however they want AND MAKE MONEY OFF IT.

We have mods and mod tools here but we can’t do this all on our own.

Report this type of thing immediately If there are any external links report them.

The boring part:

We were approached by this company months ago and declined to sponsor them. And then to be compensated by them. We have banned 7 accounts so far and counting.

Don’t waste your time and your personal information. Stay the fuck away.

28M cut from 205->180 lb in about 5 months. Target was to hit 10% at 185 but I wasn't as lean as I wanted so I pushed to 180 and I've been maintaining for 2 weeks. I thought I'd have separated lower abs and back by now, but also don't want to lose all my size.

What do you guys think? Keep cutting until I'm shredded? Maintain? Lean bulk?

T3 and sex hormones were crashed post cut making my libido non existent and sleep quality terrible. I estimate I am currently 30% bodyfat and was 15% in the previous picture taken 2 months ago. Bodyweight in the second image was 155 lbs and as of today I estimate I am 175 pounds. Weight was gained through multiple binges some of which exceeding 12k calories in hopes to regain hormonal function but was instead met with insane bloating and rapid fat storage

Normally the answer would be obvious and I really want to cut again but with training intensity at an all time low, terrible energy levels and poor sleep persisting I am unsure what to do. I developed poor binge eating habits post cut and an insatiable appetite which I am currently working on but I feel like I am in an uncomfortable position and I don’t know what to do next. Help would be appreciated

Can provide bloodwork if would assist

My guess is 16.5%.

Started cutting one month ago from 151 lbs and estimated 18.5% (BIA on Inbody 770)

I have a small frame with a 15.5 cm wrist. Probably natty limit is somewhere like 165 lbs at 12%.

I'm glycogen depleted here but anyway I feel I currently look like I don't even lift despite having some reasonable strength (12x60 lbs @ incline db press 20°)

Been training on and off since I was 19 years old had many major surgeries and set backs from sickness now I am coming on 26. My mind tells me to keep bulking but im just curious to see what others think. Some people at my gym think I should cut and really see how lean I can get but IDK how much interest I really have in being tiny if that makes sense.

I’m bulking right now, but honestly, it‘s always the same: I bulk, feel uncomfortable, quit the bulk, and cut a little just to feel small and bulk again. I want to quit that endless loop and thought it would be a good idea to just lean down to 10 - 12% body fat and do a recomp or very controlled bulk.
Also, when we’re already on it: where do you guys think I‘m at at the moment? I’d guess something around 18-20% or even higher; is that realistic?

Should i start lifting or continue with dieting

I dunno if this is the right sub to be asking this .

I had this type of body my whole life but last year i was going through alot and started eating too much and sleeping all the time to escape everything, i reached 83 kg (183lbs) i'm 177 cm (5'8") in june .

I started dieting and doing cardio 4 times a week and i managed to get down to 76kg (167lbs) .

I want to know if i should lose the belly fat which i'm very insecure about or start body recomposition.

I have a goal weight i want to reach before starting hitting the gym ( i want to be 70 kg 154lbs ) but i'm afraid that going to the gym will make me eat alot again and not really loosing the fat i want to get rid off. I dunno i'm very torn and confused .

Edit : i really would like to know if going to the gym and eating lot of carbs will affect my weight loss journey .

BoC Lost 90lbs, still struggling with my physique [5’11", 21M, 250lbs -> 160lbs -> 185lbs]

Progress Reference:
Photo 1: 250 lbs (July 2023)
Photo 2: 160 lbs (September 2025)
Photo 3: 185 lbs (Current)

Hey everyone,
I'm 5’11" and 21 years old. Over two years, I dropped 90 pounds (250 down to 160). After hitting 160, I realized I didn’t want to be victim weight anymore.

I’ve been fairly consistently going to the gym for 7 months now, while my nutrition hasn't been perfect, I’ve managed to put on a decent amount of muscle in my opinion. However, I am still very much struggling about how I look without a shirt on, particularly my mid-section. I dislike my wider hips and the loose skin/stubborn fat around my stomach (which makes my belly button look weird). Is there anything I can do to improve these issues or am I cooked?

Looking for advice or feedback. Thanks :)

TL;DR: Lost ~90 lbs, still hate taking my shirt off.

This April, my goal was to recomp while losing weight. I started at 175.3 lbs.
I have 2 questions,

  1. Should I stay in a deficit/cut?
  2. What is estimated bf? My BIA scale says I’m in the mid 17%

For context: I would not consider myself an experienced lifter but I have training for the past 3-4 years. Had periods of serious lifting and no lifting within that timeframe. For a year and a half now, I have been consistently training. I do have limitations on certain back/leg exercises due to back surgery.

All pictures were taken on same day, fasted. No pump.

Thanks!

Edit: The purpose of providing the context that I’ve been training 3-4 years was to say that I’m not a stranger at the gym. I’m familiar with progressive overload and getting enough calories, especially protein. I have done so within that time mentioned time period, just had times where I fell off the wagon really badly. I am aware that if I were training consistently for 3-4 that my current progress would be quite poor.

BoC 5’ 7” 23M 160 lbs,how many calories below maintenance should I aim for?

Post image
Upvotes

From October - April I went from 200 lbs to 160 lbs eating ~1500 calories a day. As of May, I’ve mainly focused more on weightlifting instead of cardio. I’m guessing I should still continue in a deficit, but am unsure of how much I should cut by. I believe my maintenance would be around 2400-2600 cals. With that, how many calories should I aim to eat a day for fat loss/muscle gain?

Trying to do it slow and recomp, I'm guessing my current bf is 22-24/25, but I have no idea, just keep going or would you recommend something else?

r/BulkOrCut 12h ago

Been cutting for about 6 weeks. Went from roughly 180 to 166 lbs (shown in the pics). What % body fat am I? I’m wanting to achieve a visible 6 pack.
