Do someone know want happened to this powder juice from 2010, it was so good and today almost every Guarana juice has an awful artificial flavour

I'm coming to Rio de Janeiro for a 5-day family trip (no kids). This is my tentative itinerary—please critique it and let me know your thoughts!

📍Day 1 – Arrival, Copacabana & Ipanema

• Morning/Afternoon:
  • Arrive in Rio.
  • Walk around Copacabana Beach.
  • Check out the Copacabana Fort (Forte de Copacabana).
  • Grab breakfast/coffee at the fort's café with an amazing ocean view.
  • Stroll down the boardwalk toward Arpoador.
  • Keep walking all the way to Ipanema Beach.
• Night:
  • Dinner at a traditional Brazilian steakhouse (rodizio).
  • Walk along the Copa boardwalk to soak in the night vibes.

📍Day 2 – Christ the Redeemer, Santa Teresa & Historic Center

• Morning:
  • Head up to Christ the Redeemer.
  • Explore the Santa Teresa neighborhood (walk around the streets and viewpoints).
  • Browse the local artisan shops.
• Afternoon:
  • Lunch in Santa Teresa.
  • Check out the Selarón Steps (Escadaria Selarón).
  • Visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian.
  • See the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura (Royal Portuguese Reading Room).
  • Stop by Confeitaria Colombo for coffee, dessert, and pics.
  • Visit the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB).
  • Hit up Uruguaiana Market for souvenirs and quick shopping.

📍Day 3 – Sunrise, Maracanã & Carioca Nightlife

• Super Early Morning:
  • Catch the sunrise at Copacabana Beach.
  • Take some photos with the surfboards.
  • Walk along the beach as the locals start their day.
• Morning:
  • Grab breakfast.
  • Do the Maracanã Stadium tour.
• Night:
  • Light dinner.
  • Head out to experience Rio’s nightlife.
  • Go to a bar with live samba or join the party in Lapa (highly recommended) or Copacabana.

📍Day 4 – Favela, Nature & Sugarloaf Mountain

• Morning:
  • Take a guided tour of the Rocinha Favela.
• Afternoon:
  • Visit Parque Lage.
  • Explore the Rio Botanical Garden.
  • Grab some lunch.
• Sunset:
  • Head up Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar) for sunset.
• Night:
  • Dinner in Botafogo or Copacabana.

📍Day 5 – Porto Maravilha, AquaRio & Heading Home

• Morning:
  • Walk around Boulevard Olímpico.
  • Check out the Eduardo Kobra murals.
  • See the Museum of Tomorrow (inside or just from the outside, depending on time).
  • Visit AquaRio.

Hi, i'm planning to go to Brazil during september for two weeks. The first week we'll stay in Rio, but I have a hard time choosing where we should go the next week.

We are a young group of 6 people, so we'll visit only 2 places as it is quite difficult to move around with a big group. We all love nature, parties, beaches, etc

Does someone have a recommendation where we should go for our second week?

Hello I bought a plane ticket to Rio De Janeiro for mid November. I enjoy betting off the beaten path and meeting local people and getting to know them. I strongly dislike doing the touristy things. I also love being outside getting into nature and I enjoy doing a little drinking.

Does anyone recommend any places to go in Rio or the surrounding areas?

I am also gonna visit another part of the country. I am currently between Manaus, Florianpolis, or Bahia. Are there any recommendations between the 3 or other suggestions?

Does anyone know these companies: Tricon Energy, Quantic, or Neromar? I'm not really sure how established they are in the Brazilian market or what kind of market position they have there.

I also find it pretty surprising that Western companies are collaborating with the PCC, especially in the energy sector. I had no idea the PCC was involved in the methanol business.

I should have added this to my original post, instead of a new post, but it in a lot of ways, it's a separate topic to the frequency and duration of hanging out with family.

The first is chores. While somebody brings a dish they made to a family event is extremely common and at least an offer to help with dishes is expected, the degree that Brazilian guests chip in to help with chores just doesn't happen that often in the US.

The second, and more complicated, is paying for things. Generally, in the US, whoever the host is pays for everything except for whatever token dish or bottle of wine or whatever the guest brings. When it comes to going out for restaurant meals, my friends and family there tend to practice a sort of socialism: whoever makes the most money, generally pays the most often. And it's usually one or two people paying for the whole thing, rather than splitting the bill.

While I grew up solidly middle-class, all my immediate relatives are now comfortably upper middle-class and I tend to be the most "poor," so rarely pay in family situations.

Also, when I go out with friends to a bar in the States, very often it's just one person who pays, and there's an informal rotating basis on paying.

I must admit I found it really odd, after spending a few days at the pousada of my partner's cousin, to be effectively presented with a bill. The expenses were added up and divided.

(Note my partner has a young kid and so does her brother, so this is a factor for consideration.) In the US, I maybe see my family once every month or two for two or three hours at a time. By contrast, my partner will be with her family for eight hours at a time. Going to a SESC event, a park, or over someone's house. It's generally low pressure. One can take a nap with no offense taken. I even sometimes bring a book. But this is a looooot of time for an introvert like me to spend with people, especially in a language I'm not fluent in.

Also, when I was going on dates with Brazilians, I almost always was the one to end the date, whether it was a good or blah one. It seemed like there was an expectation to hang out for hours.

Are my observations correct?

I have a lovely boyfriend from Brazil, and his English sounds wonderful to me. I love his accent and think his voice is beautiful. He could say nearly anything with his accent and I enjoy hearing him speak.

I'm curious if I learn Portuguese will I also have an accent? What does it sound like?

I'm Australian with an accent that is closer to British than what people think when they imagine Australians from stereotypes. My voice isn't very nasal and even though I was born here I get asked where my accent is from. I'd be curious how that is going to blend with Portuguese. I would love if I could sound as lovely to his ear!

Hello! I'm planning a trip to Salvador de Bahia and I'm looking for advice about whether it makes more sense to rent accommodations on the mainland and visit Itaparica island on a day trip or if I should spend 1-2 nights on the island.

I expect to be in Salvador for around 4 or 5 days and if I stayed on the mainland Barra would be my base.

Things I'm considering:

- Whether there is much night activity on the island (entertainment, food, etc) or if it's better as a daytime destination

- Whether it is realistic to go back and forth on the ferry in one day and still get to enjoy visiting the island (i.e experiencing at least one historical/cultural activity and experiencing the nature)

I am also interested in visiting the Ilha dos Frades, Pelourinho and an art museum during my time in Salvador as well. Is this doable?

Hi all! I’m a Canadian Gringa coming down to South America as part of my honeymoon trip and Rio will be the last stop over NYE.
We will probably look into a Michelin restaurant one night, but on the 31st I want to go somewhere walkable within our accommodation as it sounds like transport on NYE is a nightmare.
We will be staying either in Copacabana or Ipanema.
I would love recommendations for a great restaurant (expensive is no issue, it’s our honeymoon, we want to enjoy!) that we can walk to.
Also would love to know, is it worth it to go to a nice restaurant like this, in this area, on NYE, or will it be so busy/hectic that we should just grab something easy and convenient instead?

I've lived in the US for the majority of my life, but both my parents are carioca (born in the city of Rio), and so I have inherited some of that culture. My mom was part of a Flamengo household, while my dad grew up as a much larger and I guess you could say fanatical Botafogo fan. They were born in the 1960s-1970s so they experienced mostly the 80s and 90s of their respective teams. Considering I myself was born much later and haven't really done my due diligence when it comes to looking into their past games I guess I don't really know what kind of story or cultures either of those clubs have. I went botafogo by default and do have a couple kit tops, but I'd like to at least be a little educated in what types of clubs I'm getting into. Let me preface by saying I’m American. During the World Cup, I saw discussions with Brazilians on SM saying that ⚽️ has become or is becoming a sport for the middle class in Brazil and the sport is suffering. I was shocked to read that because in the US, Brazil is seen as the ⚽️ epicenter where talent is constantly coming out all income brackets and demographics. Has it gotten that bad in Brazil where poorer kids can’t break through in the sport like in the US? How disappointing and unfortunate if so.

I overstayed my tourist visa in 2017 for around 4 months.

I have not been back since, but I am considering going back for vacation, however I wonder how my visa overstay will be handled, which I hope someone can help with or maybe share their experience.

I have read different things - some information state the fines expires after 5 years, others say I will need to pay including interest rates.

I would like to pay the fine, if it didn’t expire, but preferably before entering to avoid issues and I would also like to know the specific amount ahead of time, considering their might be interests. I have tried contacting the Brazilian consulate in my country as well as the Brazilian federal police on email, but without luck.

We don’t like hot and sunny weather, hate bathing on the beach, contrary to most haha (but walking on cool temperature along the coast is absolutely amazing). 15-20C is ideal for us. Love nature and amazing food. Currently learning Portuguese. Where in Brazil would be good to slow travel for couple of months or longer (Brazil winter time)? Thank you!
