Discussion Boost Mobile (Blake): I’m still here—and I want to show up differently for you

I’ve noticed it’s been a little quiet in the community lately, and want to help bring some excitement back. Also, I wanted to reach out and remind everyone that I’m still active here, monitoring the threads daily, and ready to jump in whenever you hit a snag.

In 2025, we proved that this sub isn’t just a place to vent—it’s a place where we get things done. We resolved over 1,000 individual cases and pushed through 15 major fixes because of your reports. As we move further into 2026, I want to move from being a "firefighter" who just fixes problems to a "partner" who helps prevent them.

How we can get things all set

If you’re running into a technical hiccup, you don’t have to wait for a "support window" to post. Whether it's an eSIM activation, a device swap, or a plan question, I’m here to be your insider resource. You also don’t have to wait to post to receive help, I’m only a chat away Monday through Friday.

While I can’t share details on NDAs, ongoing internal projects, or specific network/contractual obligations, I can change how I provide utility to this sub. I want to know how I can be a better advocate for you.

What should the "Blueprint" look like?

I’m planning my next set of resources and I want to know how I can show up for you differently. Here are some ideas to stir the pot:

  • 🔍 Monthly "Inside Boost" Explainers: Technical deep dives into the "why" behind the "what" (without the corporate speak).
  • 📅 Real-Time Status Reports: Quick updates highlighting known system issues or fixes that were recently pushed.
  • 💡 "Inside Man" Guides: Proactive checklists (like the Porting Guide) to help you navigate our systems correctly the first time.
  • 🎤 Live "Office Hours": Dedicated 1-hour windows where I’m live in a thread to answer non-account-specific questions in real-time.
  • 🏆 Community Spotlight: Recognition and "early look" opportunities for our most helpful members.

Let’s build this together

My job is to be your voice inside the building—so tell me, how can I use that voice most effectively for you?

I’ll be checking this thread every hour to read your suggestions. If you have an account-specific issue that needs immediate attention, please send me a direct message so we can keep your details secure.

Full disclaimer: This is me asking how I can better show up and support our Boost Mobile community on Reddit. I take my role on here very seriously and want to do everything I can to help our community grow and be supportive. Please keep any feedback or questions about the brand or service itself for another day, or if you really want to share, please send it to me in a chat!

Which of the ideas above interests you most, or is there something entirely new you’d like to see from my presence here?

Discussion Why are all the good upgrade deals only for the $60 plan? It's frustrating that loyal customers on cheaper plans get almost nothing.

Been with boost for so long and i swear they never had any good deals anymore the last one was that iphone 13 for 150.

Question Does Boost Currently Work In Puerto Rico?

I am traveling there next month and just curious if Boost Mobile customers currently have service there? I was looking at past threads on here and FB, and seems to have mixed responses. When I asked at my local store, they didn't even know and just said it should because Puerto Rico is considered Domestic.

Question Infinite Access iPhone Upgrade

I am currently due for my annual upgrade. this is my second time going through the upgrade process. when I first got the Infinite Access plan through Boost, it was $60 a month. I understand new customers can no longer get the Infinite Access plan but existing customers with the plan should have zero changes, everything stays the same, my monthly payment should still be $60. unless the pro max or extra storage is chosen, there should be no extra. I currently have the 16 pro with extra storage (monthly payment is $63 & some change for the extra storage) and want to upgrade to a 17 pro with no extra storage. they both have the same exact monthly phone payment of $30.56. the monthly finance discount for my current phone is $30.56, which covers the phone as it should, same as it did when I upgraded from the 15 to the 16 pro. but when I go to check out to complete the upgrade order, my monthly payment is now $67.50 before tax vs $60 before tax & the finance discount for the phone is only $23.06.

I've tried doing the chat & I've tried calling, nobody is knowledgeable on the infinite access plan & tell me I have to pay for my phone in full & then get refunded when they receive my trade in from the upgrade. or they don't even understand what I'm asking. I went into a storefront & the worker knew how the plan works, but they can't access that type of plan at all anymore so he said he couldn't help me & he also said he doesn't know why it's charging me more monthly cause it shouldn't.

does anyone know why this is happening? anyone know how to fix it?

thanks in advance!

Question Travel to Canada - phone does not support eSIM or Wi-Fi calling

My phone is Samsung A25 model, unlocked. It does not support eSIM or Wi-Fi calling as far as I can tell. It does support dual physical SIMs. My plan is Unlimited talk/text/data no contract $25/mo.

I am traveling to Canada for ten days in the near future. After spending a lot of time I still can't figure out if I can get service there with my current configuration using a Boost add-on (which one?) or will I need to buy a SIM card once I'm there, like I had to a few years ago in London U.K.

Discussion Mini Me Games

I've been with Boost since my account was dumped there by Virgin Mobile, so a long time ago. I don't really have any issues. My phone works when I need it to.

But I woke up this morning to a text from phone number (949) 889-1435 with a validation PIN. The message didn't say what the PIN was for, so I almost marked it as spam and ignored it. Something told me not to, though, and through some searching, I found others who said this was connected to Boost and Mini Me Games being added to their accounts, without their consent.

Unlike those other people, I hadn't received any notification about Mini Me being added to my account, but it made me curious and I looked up my Boost plan. Sure enough, it had been added. I can't tell when it was added, but I definitely didn't pay for it last month.

I'm single, I don't have kids, I live alone, and there has never been anyone else on my phone plan. And I was asleep when the notification was sent. On top of that, I don't even know what Mini Me is!

I was able to remove it, but I'm angry. How many people have had this added without their knowledge and don't even realize they are paying $5/ month extra because it's on autopay? I shouldn't have to watch my account to make sure things aren't being added without my permission.

I'm posting here to hopefully make it easier for someone to find if the same thing happens to them, and also to warn people to check your accounts and see what you are being billed for. If things are added without your permission, No, it's not your imagination.

Question Infinite iPhone upgrade - “water damage”?

I’ve been eligible for awhile and I want to do the upgrade, but I’m concerned about the trade-in policy in regards to water damage.

I’m a fisherman and I work in a marina, my phone (iPhone 16 Pro) has definitely been wet plenty of times, but it’s an iPhone and it’s water resistant/waterproof.

It has zero issues, it’s totally functional and in great condition besides a few minor screen scratches.

If I send my phone back are they going to see a moisture indicator that’s been triggered and charge me for the device? If so I’d rather just keep it and pay it off.

I am due for my very first autopay to go through soon and I read on this forum that there has been issues with autopay in the past. Should I be concerned or is it now flawless for most people?

Discussion Boost Mobile Global Connection Plan Explained: Who It's For and What It Includes

Boost Mobile recently introduced Global Connection, a new unlimited plan focused on international calling & travel. Here's what it includes, who it's designed for, and where it fits in the current lineup.

Global Connection was designed for people who:

  • regularly call or text friends and family in other countries
  • travel internationally a few times a year and want to be connected when they land

The plan is available to both new and existing customers.

What's included

  • Unlimited talk, text, and data in the U.S.
  • 40GB of premium data (speeds may be reduced after 40GB for the rest of the billing cycle)
  • Global Talk & Text
  • 1GB of Global Roaming each month in supported destinations

Global Talk & Text and Global Roaming aren't the same thing

  • Global Talk & Text lets you call and text international destinations while you're in the U.S.
  • Global Roaming lets you use your phone while you're traveling in supported destinations.

It probably isn't the right fit if you:

  • mainly call and text people in the U.S.
  • rarely or never travel internationally
  • would get more value from mobile hotspot than international roaming

Where it fits in the lineup

Global Connection includes 40GB of premium data, Global Talk & Text, and 1GB of Global Roaming.

Unlimited+ also includes 40GB of premium data and Global Talk & Text, but swaps the roaming benefit for mobile hotspot.

The simplest way to think about it:

  • Global Connection = international roaming
  • Unlimited+ = mobile hotspot

For someone who visits family overseas or takes the occasional international trip, having international calling and a bit of roaming already included means one less thing to think about before leaving.

Discussion Best phone that's not killing me on price

Call me a boomer, I just don't feel like paying an arm and a leg for a cell phone, and I understand you get what you pay for. I'm certain the more expensive phones are likely better than the cheap ones, but which of the lower costing phones really gives you the best experience overall? I'm not doing any creative designing or video/audio editing, that's what my laptop is for. The A16 is free, the Pixel 10 I toyed around the idea of since I use Google apps a lot. Currently using a Celero 5g+

Question Pixel 10a How could I choose Physical SIM when placing an order online?

Pixel 10 supports eSIM while has a physical SIM slot too. Could I choose a pSIM over eSIM? From the cart details, it said "Activate with eSIM" however, I don't see any option to choose pSIM instead.

Any helps would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Not too happy with the service

Hello everybody! Just recently got Boost Mobile, and in itself it’s not bad, but the customer support is almost belligerent and so hard to understand verbally. Everytime I’ve had an issue i’ve been instructed to call Boost Mobile, and have them work out the issue on their end. Some agents I have found nice, others not very much. Not to mention that I deleted my esim and just simply needed it redownloaded, I spent 40 minutes on the damn phone just to get them to create me a new account and me spend even more money because I didn’t want to give them my SSN or ID. All they did was say they were moving me to another agent, then so on. Why don’t you just give me the right agent for the right reason when I say it? The reason why this occurred is because I needed to just simply needed to verify that it was me on my account. So stupid, and I can’t still fathom the fact that every person on the other line has an accent that is thicker than a brick wall. On the other hand, with visible I have never had an issue. Always top tier, worth it for the price and never had to mess around with customer support for 40 minutes while being on hold half that time. The reason I got Boost was to experiment a little bit on my backup phone with a new phone service, but this didn’t put a good taste in my mouth at all.

Discussion Reboost balance is a scam.

You can't use your reboost balance for ANYTHING but paying your bill.

I needed to request an extension and have 13$ on my boost account (broke till pay day)

Contact support requesting to use this balance to request an extension, the answer?

"You cannot use your reboost balance to request an extension"

Why? For what reason?

Question Need a second phone

Hi! So there’s a deal where you get an iPhone 16e for $99 if you bring over your number. I have a Google voice number but I know sometimes these deals don’t include VOIPs. Anyone know if porting that Google voice number would work for the deal?

Question Switching phone on my plan

So currently I have a pixel 8 pro phone, planning on switching to an s26.

How easy and fast is it to switch the phone? Do I just take the physical sim out and put it in the new phone and it'll automatically do it or is it more complicated?

Does this still require porting out and back in or can store/phone reps now switch networks seamlessly? Black has always been bad and low signal in my area.

Discussion Would Boost Mobile Work For Me?

I will be going to an area that only has AT&T coverage. I saw the Boost Mobile has the $10/month for 3 months offer. I assume there is no hotspotting on that, but you can add it for an additional $10.

Question Apple - “account not supported”

It’s time for a new phone. Trying to order a new phone through apple and I’m getting THIS message when I try to connect the potential new phone to my current number.

“Account not supported.
We've run into an issue completing your iPhone activation. Please call Boost Mobile at 1-888-962-0078 so they can resolve it.”

I am NOT trying to finance the phone, I’m going to pay for it outright. And my current phone sim is NOT locked.

Do I just have select “connect to any carrier later” and connect it on the boost side? I see in the app there is a change phone option in the boost app where you enter the new phones IMEI.

One more note: the new phone will be an existing model, not a pre-order
