Hi all! My daughter just moved back to Boca for her junior year at FAU and is looking for a restaurant job.
She has hosted, served, and been a food runner/expo. She has reliable transportation and can provide references. She is 20 and lives off campus if that matters.
Any referrals appreciated! Thank you in advance.
Editing to add: Nowhere on this post do I say she is not already looking on her own. I thought that maybe respondents would have first hand knowledge of a place that is hiring or could be a good option (thank you to those of you who did offer that kind of info). I didnāt ask for, and donāt need, parenting advice. So if you donāt have any thing useful to add, please scroll on by. Itās not that hard.

I'm a Boca Raton resident, and I need to talk about something that's been bothering a lot of us: the Flock ALPR cameras spreading across our city. These things are collecting data on where we go, who we meet, and what we doāall with basically zero transparency or proof they actually work.
The city installed these cameras supposedly for safety, but there's been no public evidence they've solved trafficking cases, caught drug dealers, or done anything meaningful. Meanwhile, they're getting upgraded to track Bluetooth signals. That means they're building digital profiles of our daily lives. No warrant. No cause. Just constant surveillance of residents in our own community.
I started a petition because we deserve a say in this. Our Fourth Amendment rightsāprotection from unreasonable searchesāshould matter in Boca Raton too. If this concerns you like it does me, would you consider signing and sharing? Anyone else here feel like this crossed a line?

Looking to move down soon. Young family. Mission Bay was the target based on all the research I did but inventory is extremely scarce right now which is disappointing. How is the Boca Gardens area?

My JURA E4 is about four years old and has started making some unusual noises. Itās still brewing coffee normally, but Iād like to have it serviced before it turns into a bigger issue.
Has anyone in South Florida had a good experience with a local shop that repairs or services JURA machines? Iām in Boca Raton but donāt mind driving to Fort Lauderdale or Miami if the shop is reputable.
Would you recommend using JURAās mail-in service instead, or is there a local technician youād trust? Iād appreciate any recommendations or experiences.

Does anyone know of any good CSA or farm share programs for fresh, locally grown produce in South Florida (preferably Palm Beach or Broward County)?
Iāve come across the one from Swank, but I havenāt found many other options. Iām looking for weekly or biweekly produce boxes from local farms rather than grocery delivery services.
If youāve had a good experience with one, Iād love to hear your recommendations. Thanks!

See title.
Pretty much anywhere between Boynton and Pompano will work. Just need to find somewhere with washers sturdy enough to handle what I need to throw at them and I've driven to several and struck out, so I'm turning to the collective knowledge of reddit before I waste even more gas.
The trouble items are:
5x7 washable rug
3x4 faux sheepskin crate pad
Thanks!

Was thinking to go to the beach today near Spanish river and South Pavillon. But not sure if the seaweed situation is bad right now during the summer. Has anyone been recently and can let me know how itās been down at the beach? Let me know, thanks!

I know these are hard to find but I really want to make fried smelts and can't find anywhere based on online searches. Anyone know if a fish store that helps these? Doesn't necessarily have to be in Boca

Iām a 28 year old male looking to make extra money. I currently manage a valet company with a decent salary but am just looking to make extra money in the summer with my free time. I have experience in construction (windows, doors, handyman work), moving, chauffeuring, lawn maintenance, etc. I am pretty open to doing anything, if anyone has any advice or is needs task/projects done?

I feel like likely due to our city or South Florida in general. Anyone I try to hire for work around the house tries to treat you like a sucker and jack up the price. And then sometimes you do book a company for some work and some subcontractors show up that arenāt even fully aware of the job.
Iām mostly having these bad with companies I find on Google. My neighbor has recommended some contractors for some work that have been good but how can I find reliable people? How do you do it?

Was my primary gym and really close to where I live and work. Anyone use the youfit at the mall? I worry the LA fitness on 441 and glades is gonna be crazy busy now. Any other solid gym options?

Hi! Ive recently been getting into snorkeling and paddle boarding. As a total beginner, i've been making the trek all the way to WPB for blue heron bridge. Ideally, i'd like to find a local place thats beginner friendly where I can see some cool marine life.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Also any resources or tips on what to look for in the weather when wanting to snorkel/paddleboard is greatly appreciated. A lot of the time ill look at weather forecasts for the week or i'll look at the cityofboca beach forecast and it'll say poor conditions but when I look at beach cams the water looks completely flat and gorgeous. I know florida weather can be pretty unpredictable but I have somewhat of a busy schedule and would like to try to plan when I go in advance if possible!
Any advice, recomendations, or tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you!
