Darlings.. If you're using birth control correctly you do NOT need to be taking plan b on top of that.. its a waste of money and medication.

All you're doing is adding a huge dose of hormones to your body which can mess things up for a while

morning after pills are to stop/delay ovulation when your condom or birth control fails or there was no protection it is not to be popped like aspirin.

Plan B is the same as 40 BC pills. .. and you're just dumping that into your system without any need.

I've used condoms.. and have been on 3 different types of hormonal BC and used cycle tracking.. I have never once needed a plan b. (when I started having sex plan b wasn't available)

So I don’t know what to do at this point and maybe I’m just ranting but I could use advice and help

So when I was 15 (18 now) my mom forced me on Nexplanon, and I tried to bargain and say I couldn’t touch moody do the pill or go back on the shot, but she said no because the shot put me in the hospital, and she told me I was too stupid to remember to take the pill

But I’m still in school and I was told by cops themselves I legally cannot move out until I graduate? It’s stupid idk. But I go in November to get it removed and replaced but I don’t want it replaced and I want something different, but I’m too scared to talk to my mom about it and it’s all I can think about now a days since November is coming.

And my boyfriend’s(17y/o) mom won’t let me stay or sleepover anymore if I’m on anything other than this birth control, and my own boyfriend has gotten mad/upset at me for bringing up me being on a different birth control, and I don’t want to break up, as we’ve been together for two years now.

If I could get any advice I would greatly appreciate it, and even if I don’t get advice or anything like that, it just feels good to get this off my chest.

Oy. 37F, 1 toddler. Had my placebo week. took Sunday through Friday pills, Didn’t take Saturday. sex on Sunday (Week 2). Realized on Tuesday I hadn’t taken a pill since Friday. So on Tuesday, I took Monday’s and Tuesday’s. I’m gonna be pregnant aren’t I?

should i be worried if my bf finished inside me atleast 2 times im on birth control (Aurovela 1/20) im just scared idk i waited atleast 7 days after i took it and i take it on time everyday not one missed and i started taking it the first day of my period and ive been taking it for two weeks now.

I haven't gotten my withdrawal bleed. I've been on birth control for years, and I'm on day four of the placebo pills. I'm just kind of worried right now because I am sexually active however I take my birth control on time every day and I’ve never missed a pill.

I am getting my kyleena IUD removed after 5 years (it's actually a bit past 5 years, oops). I'm not so worried about the actual removal experience, but would love to hear how others felt after the fact? I'm going to be on no birth control now, and I was on the pill for years pre-IUD, so I can't really remember what it's like to not be on hormonal BC.

Some specifics:

I had half my thyroid removed so take a low dose of levothryoxine daily. Assuming i'll need to get my levels checked post-IUD to make sure everything is stable?

I never had acne in my life until my IUD insertion. For 5 years I've had intense cystic acne on my chin that no topicals or even spirnolactone could help. My derm said the IUD could be causing this. Did anyone find their skin cleared up after removing IUD?

I lost 30 lbs over the last 2 years and am a little stressed about putting it back on. Would love to hear if anyone found weight gain to be an issue upon IUD removal!!

(F24) I went to get my iud insertion done or yesterday and I started to get really stressed out about the whole insertion, as I was finding it very disturbing that this object was getting inserted into my uterus. I didn't realize how far it was going, I thought it was going into my cervix (I know that probably sounds silly) but I was alone and didnt have any support person with me, so that made me more stressed if something were to happen afterwards and couldnt drive or whatever. I basically tried to push myself and only got to the speculum and asked the dr to stop. I felt really bad and apologized a lot for wasting her time, she said no need to apologize as this happens alot and I can reschedule for when I am ready. I really do want this done as I had an unexpected pregnancy and went through termination (please no judgment for my choice) so im very scared of getting pregnant again, until i am of course ready to. Then seeing others experience on social media has really scared me for the whole thing. If there is other opinions out there that arent expensive (yes, being absent is cheap, but let's be realistic, were human, so the deed is definitely going to be done, while in a committed relationship lol) or if theres any words of encouragement to get the iud done, I would love to hear your experience. Im just a girl who is scared and worried lol!!

so I recently threw up in the beginning of my pack of lo loestrin fe. I took a replacement on time and then continued with my pills normally every day at the same time. When I got to the white estrogen pills, I forgot that I had to take an extra active pill that I was short before taking the white estrogen pill. six hours after I realized that I was supposed to take an active pill I looked up what to do online and it said throw the pack out and take the first active pill of a new pack. So that’s what I did, corrected it the same day. i know this may sound a little dumb but i used chat gpt and with every detail it said that i was fine because i corrected at the same day so six hours wouldn’t drop my hormones. but today (the day after) I woke up with brown spotting randomly I don’t ever have this. especially when I just ended my full 5 day cycle a couple days ago before this happened. and yes, I have read the big paper that comes with my pack on all the instructions if a mistake were to happen but nothing matches my situation. And I don’t feel 100% ok trusting Google or chatgpt, that what I did was right and I don’t need a plan b or to take action in any way i may be at a risk for pregnancy. there’s also no way I could speak to my doctor without it being through my mom.

Boyfriend and I had sex for the first time, he did not finish inside, had a condom on always and it did not break or slip, we are not sure about leaks. Neither of us oeed after and we went for round 2 with the same conditions as round 1 and we were safe. Did not take plan B coz didn't think I needed it. So I started Junel Fe 1/20 on June 20, and I skipped the placebo pills because I had a trip. I started the new pack on July 11, and on day 6 of the new pack I had really bad cramps and spotting, and I’m still experiencing it a week later. When it started, I shed a big piece of uterine lining, and it freaked me out.
Is it normal to bleed this far into a pack? And have bad cramps this often? I’ve been taking 1,950 mg of Tylenol for the pain (I’ve always had bad cramps, but they’ve never lasted this long). Aside from the cramps and bleeding, I haven’t had any other bad side effects, so I like this one compared to other pills that gave me mood swings. What’s your experience on Junel Fe? Should I stick to it and see if my body regulates itself, or give up and start a new pill?

I’m starting nexplanon in a month, and I’m excited because it’s going to help with my cramps that usually have me doubled over in pain. What are some side effects that are most common? I know there are things like periods stopping altogether and cramps getting worse, but what are the side effects that are the most common that I should be watching for?

I (24F) started a new BC about a month ago. My last BC had no side effects or breakthrough bleeding, but it didn't help with my vaginal dryness, which is the reason I'm on BC. Estrogen creams don't help and I have lower estrogen (51 during predicted ovulation). I also have low RBC count with my last being 4.08. My last labs were June 9th, so not too long ago.

I'm now on the sugar pill week as of 2 days ago, but I've been bleeding for 15 days. I told my provider the pain and bleeding was getting worse each day and they told me to keep taking the pill for 3 months. Last Thursday I passed a decidual cast (very painful!) and the bleeding seemed to slow, but has not stopped. My flow is lighter now and mostly clots. Blood goes between brown and dark red throughout the day. My issue is that I am now so tired and moving is difficult. I worry about my RBC count since I already run low. Simple tasks like taking a shower make me weak and my heart races. I already have heart conditions and don't want to strain my heart further. I'm dizzy everytime I stand. My bedroom is on the 2nd story and stairs are a nightmare.

What do I do at this point? I've lost my health insurance so planned parenthood is all I can afford and that's who I've been seeing. Do I just stop taking the pills and hope I go back to being dry and uncomfortable, but not slowly bleeding out? This can't be normal

I think I’m just paranoid. But I’ve had consistent periods since I got my IUD placed in November 2024. I’m now 2 weeks late, but now experienced exaggerated period symptoms. My boobs hurt, I’m incredibly emotional, I’m nauseous with a headache, and I feel like I may be peeing more often. What are my chances of being pregnant? I believe it could just be a late “ghost period”, but I’m just really paranoid. My last IUD, which I believe was a Kyleena, moved after 3 years so I got a new one. Doctors explained it was a fluke and I shouldn’t be worried about getting a new one.

I stopped taking birth control at the beginning of January 2026. I was on it for 10 years. I can’t completely remember what my cycles were like before birth control, but I am pretty sure I got my period every month. After stopping birth control, it took me 36 days to get my period. My cycles after that have been 56, 52, and now on day 52 without ovulation or signs of period. I have a gyno appointment scheduled soon, but curious to see if anyone else had a similar experience. A lot of things online say 3-6 months to regulate after stopping birth control and it has now been over 6 months and my cycle seems to be getting worse.

I’ve been on desogestrel for 3 years because my periods were horrible. I’d have intense cramps for 2-3 days, heavy bleeding and horrible thumping headaches. When I first went on it I had increased nausea, dizziness, feeling hot, breast tenderness, tiredness, and extreme mood swings. I had one bleed 3 weeks in then my periods/bleeds completely stopped, for 3 whole years. But recently
I had a serious mental health episode and that, combined with worries about my fertility, has led to me wanting to come off it. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 years ago, I believe the pill worsened it. But at the same time I’m seeing horror stories from people who came off desogestrel like psychosis and prolonged bleeding and fertility issues. What were your experiences?

Making this post as i have gotten my first depo shot 6/15 it's now 7/22 and i'm still spotting.
I have a lot of frustrations about it because i wasnt told anything other than i may stop having a period after 3 rounds of shots and that the spotting would stop around the 6 week mark. I have about another week left but after searching this subreddit i'm scared if i want to continue. My next round isn't due until september. there are people who say the bleeding continues for more than 6 weeks initially. I constantly feel gross because of this. I got on birth control so I can practice safe sex... Now i dont want to have sex at all. I feel normal aside from the bleeding my libido is the same and i dont feel emotionally different. I want to have sex but even on the days where i'm not bleeding it still smells like blood and it's disgusting.

There have been many posts of people talking about what it's like when you end the depo shot. Bleeding for up to 9 months not even just spotting full on periods. I'm scared if i should continue and see how it works for me instead of others experiences. But also i dont wanna end it in a year and then have to deal with all that bleeding later on. it's been a little over a month now should i just stop the depo and get all the bleeding over with now or continue and see how it works? I'm now interested in the pill even though i only got the depo shot because it seemed easier and not something if have to think about everyday... I was never told the differences of these birth controls and how depo really affects you.

hello! i just want to clarify something on using cocp.

i had 2-3 episode of loose stool (its not straught water but its like a thick puree with some bits in it) in a week 2 months ago (was due to me eating spicy ramen and milk straight for the whole week, unhealthy i know)

tbh, i didnt think of it much at the time cause in the pamphlet, it said to only use backup only if i had vomit/diarrhea within 3-4 hours after taking the pill. i did not have any loose stool after taking the pill and only had the loose stool after eating the spicy ramen.

then recently i had a discussion with a friend who said that having loose stool for more than 24 hr also can cause reduced effectiveness for cocp. now im a bit worried and i cant go out to buy pt because of transport issue in the nearest time so i would like to hear some insight here first because i am spiralling rn…

I know there is so much about IUD Mirena and I heard more horror stories than good ones.

I am 40 years old and never gave birth, got heavy periods, fibriods, pcos and possibly undiagoised endo. They are regular periods but they have become longer bleeding 7 days instead of 5, heavy and painful. Also very low iron that I had to get iron infusions.

I have tried two birth control pills and I don't last on them as I hate the side effects.

My gyno recommended to do a small procedure (not to remove anything) just to check what is going on up there and she mentioned while she is in there she recommends putting in an IUD Mirena but it is up to me if I want to add that option or not.

I slept on IUD Mirena now for four years and things have gone worse that its effecting my everyday life.

Part of me is thinking to give it a shot and try it for atleast 3-4 months but the other part has so much anxiety that I may not be able to last that long 😅

Any positive experiences?

I just got off nexplanon due to one year of bleeding. Ive thought about going on opill but wanted to see yalls experience. I mostly wanted to ask how the spotting situation is. I also wanted to see if anyone’s taken both opill and been on nexplanon to see what the differences may be. Thank you:)

I started Slynd about a month ago, I’m almost to my first round of placebos.
I feel like it’s been ok, as far as mood and stuff. However, my boobs are SORE, they’ve been sore since around day 4 of starting, and starting yesterday I get sharp pains in my nipples! I know I’m not pregnant, so it must be from the Slynd.

Anyone else? Will it go away in a while when my body adjusts to it?

Hello, after several failed IUD attempts my doctor prescribed me Nextstellis for birth control only. She reccomended it because of my concerns of weight gain. However, I also am concerned about how it will affect my mental health. I am on the BPD spectrum and have OCD, depression, and anxiety. I just started abilify for these and am finally feeling better after almost a year of struggling with my mental health. Does anyone have any insight onto how Nexstellis has affected their mental health? Specifically if they have BPD or Bipolar?

ok i posted here like a week ago asking if it’s safe to skip the placebo pills and continue taking active pills. i expected some breakthrough bleeding but… it’s not even blood, not to go too tmi but it’s just brown spotting basically. but it’s been happening for a week at this point!!! my normal periods are 3-4 days, but i fr don’t know what to do or when this will stop.

i started on the combination pill ~2 years ago to help with pmdd symptoms (terrible mood swings/depression, really bad cramps etc) and it has really helped me and i’m planning to continue on it

however it greatly reduced my libido essentially to 0 for quite a while and even though my bf at the time was supportive of me and never pressured me i felt really guilty about it and was kind of upset that i had lost out on my sex life in a way

we split up amicably at the start of this year (for other reasons, mostly bc long distance) and i feel that my libido is slowly returning but whenever it does it’s not much and i also feel sort of ashamed/anxious which makes me not want to masturbate

i’m not sure whether the BC is still inhibiting my sex drive or if it’s feelings from my previous relationship but i’m still struggling and was wondering if anyone had advice for how to deal with this/if anyone goes through the same thing…. i’m still pretty young (university age) and i don’t really want the rest of my life to be completely sexless or have this be an obstacle in future relationships because i don’t think i’m asexual 😭😭

Has anybody else had an increase in vaginal infections since starting birth control? I currently am using the Nexplanon and i constantly have reoccurring BV and yeast infections. My gyno told me that there is studies being done about it but nothing is confirmed. Thinking of getting it out but would love others opinions.

This year i (16m) started dating a girl (16f) and she started taking norethisterone enanthate estradiol valerate (noregyna/mesigyna in Brazil), its a birth control by injection.

In june, 8 days after she took it (it was her 3rd time taking it), she told me i could finish off inside w/o protection, and so i went in, i got anxious about it and after 13 days from the sexual relation we took a test and it said negative, in the midnight of the same day (13 going to 14 days after the relation) she started bleeding, first it came brownish blood and the other 4 days it was normal blood with some clots here and there.

Now its been 34-35 days and im still a little worried, should we take another test? or are we safe?

I feel a little stupid posting this but, im just genuinely worried and i dont have anyone to rely and ask about those things.
