After changing back into my clothes in the locker room leaving work I felt a tickle on my stomach and found this engorged bedbug crawling by my belly button. Obviously I changed in the garage when I got home and took a shower and am currently cooking my clothes I was wearing in the dryer. I can’t help but be paranoid about bringing them home. Any advice for possibly traps that can warn us if we have any or anything else?

I'm on a work trip right now and got up early this morning to find this crawling on my pillow. I immediately packed up my things and let the front desk know. The front desk woman tried to deny that it was a bedbug and I wasn't having that because this is 100% a bed bug and it was full of fresh blood when I killed it 🤢.

I still have one more night here and they moved me to an upgraded room in a different building, but I'm worried about my clothes and bag because I know they're easy to spread. Ugh

How do i keep getting hitchhickers? Its been 4 months since I last seen one, which ended up being in the same area (on the couch, during the day) it was a male, unfed. We had a inspector come and spray and then we ended up using crossfire again just for precaution, fast forward to today I find this one, in the picture above.

Everytime I find one of these f*ckers no signs are ever shown.

No eggs, no blood stains, fecal, nothing!

My mother lives in a facility with older people and claims they spray every month for bed bugs, not sure if it snuck in because of that, or I purchased some cloth diapers off FB marketplace last night that ended up going right in the wash anyways, no where near the couch.

We have no carpet but obviously a lot of cloth, I have no idea what to do or why I keep randomly finding these guys but I feel like these f*cking bugs are going to make me go into phycosis.

I have woke up in the mroning and found a weird brownosh to blackish stains all over the bed sheet. I also found these on my partner’s pyjamas, mainly on her t-shirt.

What can it be? Can these be from a bed bugs?

Just to clarify, there is onfoing renovation on our building (exterior) and we have no visible bites nor bites that would itch.

Photo is from the parner’s t-shirt. The t-shirt was washed in washing machine but it does not seem to go off. The same stains but not that big were found in small amounts (2-3 little stains) on clothes in our laundry basket as well.

Some of these stains have like a hard black thingy in the middle, and we found some of those on our body as well.

We are sure there were none before.

Can it be from bed bugs?

Can some one help to identify if this is a bed bug? We found small few behind sofa and then in the bedsheet found smaller bugs crowded together and their white powder kindof eggs. Is pest control needed even at this stage? I washed bedsheet in hot water and cleaned sofa with urban company service.

Hey all - I don’t know where they came from but they infested my home. My problem: I have 2 small children and the younger one got bitten so badly yesterday we had to see a doctor. We were not home for some days and just came home and in the meantime these bugs must have exploded.
I saw sheddings, bugs, larvae and eggs on my boxspring bedframe yesterday and found 2 sheddings on the sofa. I do have a professional steam cleaner and steam cleaned every corner/seam/matress with 180 degree hot steam. Today there are no bugs visible anywhere. I‘m thinking about hot steam cleaning the whole house today again - we do have an appointment for heat treatment on monday.

I do have questions: if i found sheddings on my sofa is it clearly infested?
Is it possible to get rid of them with the hot steam cleaner only?
Do I have to do a heat treatment in every room of the house? I don‘t think its gonna be possible in my open kitchen/living room.
How do you avoid having them everywhere with small children?

Edit: just had an inspection and they said heat treatment wont work because we have an acoustical ceiling 😭😭😭
And they are also in the kids room. I could cry…

Found this crawling on my shorts in my apartment shortly after coming home. Tore apart my couch, bed, box spring, bed frame (its a platform, checked all slats and drawers) no evidence anywhere.

Obviously hoping its a hitch hiker and its likely a bed bug but I am just not sure. Ive already sent a message to my building asking for a professional inspection.

I thought it may be possible its a bat bug cause im in a high rise on a top floor, idk.

As title says. My SO and I bought our first house last week, YAY! A few days in I was cleaning and found 2 live bedbugs on top of the window trim and another on the floor of a different bedroom, not yay 😔. Bed bugs are my literal worst fear in the world, never had them, never had to deal with them, never even saw a live one until a few days ago. They were the reason I was constantly scared living in apartments, and why I was so happy to finally have a house.

We found what the pest control inspector believes are poop stains along the baseboards near where the previous owners had their beds, and also around wall holes (like curtain rod holes). We suspect they are in the walls. We have found multiple dead bugs.

We are getting a whole house heat treatment soon and I guess my question is how effective is it at getting the ones in the wall? We are lucky we haven't moved pretty much anything in yet. I hope we haven't tracked them anywhere else. We decided to go ahead and pull up all the carpet too. So there is 0 carpet left in the house it's all vinyl or just subfloor.

The former owners claim they had no clue, but with finding them in multiple bedrooms I really don't believe that is true and I feel so disheartened and upset about the whole thing 😞

I found this insect(?) shell on my bed next to me when I woke up this morning. It looks like it has some sort of flat round abdomen similar to a bed bug, and it has some sort of red spot right on the abdomen. But it looks really old. I’ve had bedbugs before, and know they usually leave their sheddings near their harborages, but that was several years ago and I moved. Now I have a Murphy bed and I’ve been checking all throughout it and can’t find anything else. Is it just old?

roommates and i finished round two of chemical treatment for bed bugs last tuesday after our other roommate spotted an adult bug in her room last month.

we didn’t see any evidence of bed bugs anywhere after the first spray, but i wasn’t sleeping in my apartment so i wasn’t keeping a close eye out at nighttime when they might be more active. tonight i spotted this bug barely moving still but alive on my floor. it appears darker brown than i would expect a bed bug to be (less reddish-brown, a deeper, almost black-brown) and has this shiny silver underside, but the shape looks bed-buggy to me… should i be worried that our treatment didn’t work?

So I recently had a relatively bad bed bug infestation in an old apartment. I tried everything, and thankfully I was moving into a new place to escape the old infestation. Everything that I brought into the new place was either new or heat treated, like clothes. Everything that couldn't be heat treated was sealed away in many trash bags and boxes with Nuvan Prostrips. I've cross fired my new place and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I placed my shoes in Walmart and Target bags and then placed them in a larger trash bag with a Nuvan Prostrip at the end of May. Now, in the middle of July, I want my shoes back. I opened up the trash bag to air out the shoes, according to the Nuvan Prostrip advice. When taking some of my shoes out, I noticed tiny, fast moving bugs on the outside soles of my shoes. They move rapidly and I would not describe them as apple seed shape. They were still small, pale/translucent looking, and in my old apartment that was infested. But at this point, I don't know and I am scared, and I want my shoes back.

Against my better judgement, ChatGPT has not been able to identify these bugs in any photos or videos. It is also convincing me that these are probably not bed bugs, but again I just don't know anymore.

I don't have a clear-er picture at the moment. When I re-open my shoes again in a month I'm hoping if they are bed bugs they will all be gone. Any advice or identification would be greatly appreciated.

Hi so I'm under 18 and I still live with my parents.

We started having bedbugs because my stepdad had a friend who has bedbugs and didn't know how to properly get rid of them and has now brought them into our house.

I am now paranoid about finding them when doing to sleep.

Context.

I have found 5 out of the 6 that we found in our house, 3 were on my pillow, two on our kitchen chairs, and one bedbug was on the carpet which my mother pointed out.

All bedbugs have been found downstairs only.

My room is upstairs.

The reason I have found them on my pillow is I have a medical condition where I often need naps and sometimes I take naps in our sitting room, and I also sometimes don't have enough energy to walk up the stairs so I sleep overnight in my sitting room and we have a pull out bed and I keep two pillows downstairs for me at all times, so at night I will be there drifting off and i find a fricking bedbugs inches away from my face and i immediately sit uo and freak out then call for my mother,. This happened twice, a third time I did see it at first, I was about to sleep, something in my brain told me to check, so I need and I find one underneath my pillow.

The problem is I can't sleep now unless it's daytime or if I'm about to pass out kinda sleep.

none have been found in my room but when I try to sleep, I often feel something crawling over me when nothing is there, I contently turn on my light to see if any are there (I sleep in the dark) and I also check my pillows a lot and sometimes i will just start crying because I think they are in my bed, even if i know they aren't. I am now sitting here constantly looking around me, seeing nothing but I still can't sleep and it's non-stop making me cry, I don't know how to get over this but I really need my sleep and to feel comfy in my bed.

Hey everyone, right now I’m kinda losing it bc I think we have bed bugs all of a sudden. I am having a professional come tomorrow to do a free home examination or whatever and to give me an estimated cost if need be, but in the meantime I’m just losing my sht. This is sort of a venting post but also looking for advice and ideas.

About about a week 1/2 to 2 wks ago I started getting bitten while I was sleeping. I garden and all that so I’m used to bites, but these were different. I have arachnophobia so I then became paranoid it was a spider (we call them “s-words” in this house bc I hate even hearing the word). Anyways, things didn’t ease up, I kept waking up with itchy bites. We washed the bedsheets again despite having done so earlier in the same week, hoping that’d help. It didn’t. It’s gotten worse. Now I’m covered in bites, it’s excruciatingly itchy and I am freaking out. I’ve started washing things and drying on high heat & bagging them up just in case. We slept in the living room (it’s worth noting that my husband is not having a reaction, but through research and talking on the phone w a professional, I know some ppl don’t have the same histamine response - he’s much, much less sensitive than me, I’m hyper sensitive). I woke up without new bites after sleeping in the living room but this evening I laid down on the living room daybed (also mattress) to nap w the blanket from the night before and got super itchy and new red marks.

The thing is, I haven’t SEEN anything, I’m just having these terrible bites at night, and looking at photos, it seems to be very similar in formation/color/size/etc.

Any advice or kind words? I just started crying bc I don’t know where to sleep to be comfortable and ugh I’m just so frustrated right now. My husband is trying a trap of sorts that involves yeast/sugar/water bottle & bag to mimic the co2 they’re drawn to, in hopes that’ll attract and kill any and give confirmation. Has anyone tried that before? Can someone make me feel better? lol. I know im gonna see a professional tomorrow but im worried that its earlier stages and so it’ll be harder to see, and im just anxious as heck from being so itchy!!!! Omggggg. Anyway, thank you for letting me vent, pls don’t be mean to me, im a big sensitive cry baby, particularly rn while cycling 🥲😅

Found this flattened and dead on my bed. Is this a bedbug? I haven’t noticed any bites

We discovered the first bed bug shortly after my daughter was born. There was a small infestation on our mattress (something like 15) and we had it professionally treated. We waited a couple months and were still finding the odd bug. We ended up hiring a different company and did a whole house treatment again. They also inspected and found nothing except a small infestation on the mattress.

The second service came with a guarantee and they have been back about every 3 to 6 weeks for now almost a year. When they come, we strip and heat the bedsheets and blankets and they inspect the mattress, bedframe, lift up the boxspring, check the curtains, open drawers, and they always find a very small number (1-6) and spray the area again.

But then I'll find one two or three weeks later often in random places in broad daylight like on the bathroom wall on the opposite side of the house, on the couch downstairs (but we tore it apart and found nothing else), on a book, walking on the dresser, in my toddler's potty, etc. The exterminator will schedule and come out again and round and round we go. They tell us they are baffled that we still have them.

We got rid of the bassinet and crib months ago and my daughter was sleeping in a playpen, but just found one there a week ago so I got rid of it (but found no evidence of bugs after taking it apart) because the exterminators said they won't treat toddler beds or playpens. They did spray the perimeter of her room.

Mattress is encased, we took apart and got rid of the bedframe, we took down and stored our curtains.

We live in a standalone house, not very close to our neighbors.

Why can't we get rid of them? Any ideas or suggestions? I'm expecting a baby again and really want this nightmare to be over.
