I know that the general consensus is that a beard and no mustache is usually no good. Does this look at all okay? Im so stubborn I'll probably still keep it regardless

21 yrs old, 1st month in, will my beard connect properly?

I am hoping that the beard connects from like the top downwards to the part above my chin, any chance this might happen or should I just rock the goatee and moustache combo?

28M, around a month of growth. Need advice.

First time I let my beard grow this long, took around a month of no shaving which I am not used to hahaha but I got motivated to let it grow since I got curious what I would look like with a beard. Now my concern here is that the other side looks patchy and doesn't look as dense as the other side. Should I continue growing it, shave it, or trim and shape it up? I have no idea how this beard would look like and what it should look like so I'll appreciate any advice I can receive. Thanks! :)

Hello beard brother and sisters, I've been growing out my beard for about 2 ish months now but it still looks patchy on the sides, it helps a bit when I use beard balm to bat it down, but I wanna know, should I just go back to a goatee, I really wanted a full beard. I'm 26

First time growing it out, advice?

Sort of looking to maintain a short beard. My main issue is that my moustache grows a bit slower and isn’t quite as dense as my cheeks, so it tends to look less full. Any tips on keeping the beard looking as full as possible, especially the moustache area? Thanks!

The bad thing is I had curly hair so they started to retreat. This is the first time I'm trying to figure out how it sees but I'm starting to lose hope. Or am I just being very desperate?

At least with the soul patch I did lose hope.

Is the density good enough to grow into a full beard?

Girlfriend says this looks like a balding person from the back and they had tiny ears lmao. Jokes aside, realistically can this be fixed with oils, dermarolling, and months of hard work or am I just cooked? 💀 I’m 28 btw

Alright lads, nearing two months- I’ve never let it get this long before. Definitely need a trim up around the neckline but I haven’t touched it whatsoever besides neck line maintenance, as well as minor and infrequent mustache trims (which I had prior to starting).
Feeling a bit patchy to me but I believe it may be in relation to the different tones I have going on, not entirely sure. Friends and family say it’s coming in nicely.. but as no men in my direct family besides my (now deceased) grandpa can grow a proper beard - I don’t have a good point of reference for the potential!

Do I stay the course to get to that three month mark and then allow a barber to line me up a bit? Go ahead and get it trimmed? What’s the play gentlemen?

Edit: I definitely want to keep trying to grow it! Basically just seeking grooming advice/product advice/ tips of the trade/etc!

Facial hair

I have growing facial hair and have been shaving my face for about 10 months now. I don't use a razor because I still have pimples and acne, so I use a trimmer instead. However, when I went to shave today, I noticed that I have more facial hair on my left side than my right side. My only guess is that it might be because when I sleep or lie down to watch something, I lie on my right side and press my head against the pillow. Could lying on my right side cause the hair to grow slower, or is it something like that?

Scratchy beard Part 2

Following on from great advice on my previous post, I’ve invested in some beard oil. I have a supplementary question, however.

Do I oil then comb, or comb out dead hair then oil? Does it even matter?

For context, I have a short, scratchy beard that my Wife finds prickly, so want to soften it up. Ty

Hi guys , could improve?

Half the hairs on my face are still short and thinner while the others aren’t…

Is this something that will change in time? Would love to have something more than stubble but it just starts to look weird after a few days. I can see smaller thinner hairs in the patchier areas but they’ve been like that for a bit now. I’m in my early 20s though.

Has anyone else suddenly felt the urge to completely shave their beard after years? I'm having a strange urge to shave my beard after years, but I'm scared I'll regret it.

I've had a beard since 2019 and haven't fully shaved it once since then. The only thing I've done is trim it and clean it up every now and then, but I've never taken a razor to it.

3 months in, patchy beard. Worth pushing through or should I trim it down?

Hello, I'm 29. I posted 1 month ago asking for advice on my patchy beard of 2 months. The feedback was mostly that it was fine and to be patient. Now I've reached the 3 months and wanted your opinion on how it looks ! Especially since that my beard is on the patchy side and it looks a bit different depending on the lighting. I go back and forth on whether it looks fine or rough. The first three pictures are taken outdoors, while the last two are taken under shade.

What I did :

Combed it daily with a bristle brush. Applied oils every two to three days. Frequent trimming on the neck and upper cheeks.

I kind of struggle to trim the mustache. It's hard to get a clean straight line as there's always some split hair and I don't want to overtrim it. Also, the hairs in the Charlie Chaplin's area seems to pile up while the rest is going sideways. So it makes the trimming even more awkward.

Do I maintain it like this ? Keep it growing ? Call off the whole thing or trim it down ? I'm open to any suggestions and advice !

Beard progress after three weeks – what do you think?

Hello.

42-year-old AI.

I've never grown a beard before.

I've made a few attempts in the past, but they never lasted more than three weeks. During those attempts, I didn't follow any beard care routine.

Three weeks ago, I decided to give it another try, this time with a simple grooming routine using beard oil.

It prevents the itching and makes the whole process much more enjoyable.

I don't think I have great beard genetics. My brother has a decent beard in my opinion, but it took him quite a while to get there.

Anyway, here are some photos.

For reference, I haven't trimmed anything except for cleaning up the neckline a little.

The first photos were taken at around one week of growth. The last four were taken after three weeks.

My plan is to keep growing it for three months. I'll document the progress with photos so that people with less-than-ideal beard genetics, like me, can get an idea of what kind of results are possible.

What do you think of the progress so far?

Thank you all.

Have a great day.
