Wide feet and different foot lengths is Shamma size 9 okay?
Hello, I'm interested in the Shamma Elite Maximus sandals.
My right foot is 25.5 cm long and about 11 cm wide, while my left foot is only 24.5 cm long. I've attached photos of my right foot on the size 9 sizing chart.
Does size 9 seem wide enough, or should I choose size 10? I'm worried that size 10 will be much too long for my smaller left foot, and I feel like size 9 is really too narrow.
I've seen some people cut the soles of their Shamma sandals with a utility knife. Is this safe, or could it reduce the durability of the sole or cause it to come unglued over time? This way, you can go up a size to get a wider fit.
I plan to use them for running, daily walking, and hikes up to 25 km. Thank you!

Weekly mileage on concrete sidewalks?
For those of you that walk or run fully barefoot on concrete sidewalks, what kind of mileage are you able to do weekly without wearing through the soles of your feet?
I do a lot of walking (75-100 miles per month), and while I prefer trails, I live in suburbia so most of my miles are on some sort of paved surface.
I'm fairly new to fully barefoot walking, and I find if I do multiple miles a few days in a row, my soles start to get tender. Once I got a small bloody spot on the ball of my foot, which took a couple of days to heal.
It makes sense—concrete is like very coarse sandpaper.
Is there a ceiling to how much you can walk on these artificial surfaces? Or does your skin just continue to toughen the more you do it?

question Bedrock Sandals, Pro models – How long will the Megagrip sole last on pavement?
I just bought a Cairn Evo Pro, with softer but more grippy sole. I am going to use it for hiking and other outdoor activities.
I am tempted to wear it casually around town, to work, etc, but that involves a lot of walking on pavement. Anyone have experience with a Pro version for all-day every-day use? How long might they last? Thanks in advance.

Shoe sizing for a man in women shoes
I (M) need to know if I can order vibram fivefingers shoes from women, im having this issue with sizing, and of course their customer service just replies with links, tried twice for different issues, both responded with links. However, i measured my foot once midday and it measured 25.1cm approx, and today measured it later in the evening, it measured 25.4cm (longest measurement) approx.
According to their sizing charts
41W|25.1cm
42W|25.7cm
41M|25.4cm
42M|26cm
Im leaning towards 42W but im hesitant knowing women shoes tend to be narrower, and some sizes and color ways arent available in some of the men sizes. Does anyone have any experience maybe ? What do you guys think?

question I'm sick of Vibram sizing. I'm scared of making an order at this point!
Hi! So my first Vibrams were awesome, as you can see in the picture: KSO Evo, V alphas and then V trail 2.0... Everything was great until I decided to order the V runs in the same size (38, 7.5-8, 23cm) from Trade Inn. I'm from Perú so I have to order everything overseas and the only ones I could order trough Amazon were the V trails which actually came defective (pinky toe pocket on left shoe much slimmer than the right) so glad I could send them back and get a new pair... I don't have that option with Tradeinn. The V runs were SO NARROW and a bit big (maybe 1 size too big). Actually, I'm glad I try to get them again and as some people said, I'll be getting the retros, but I don't know how the sizing it is compared to these shoes I have and I know fit well... A couple of months later I ordered the Foot Map V souls, I found them so cute after a long time of seeing them in Reels by non Vibram users... After buying them on their US page and then paying $20 for someone to bring them to Peru in their luggage.... And they were... AT LEAST 2 sizes too big. like WTF VIBRAM??????? can't you make your size charts consistent???? I'm so tired of throwing money away. Ugh.
Right now I need a shoe that would acommodate my feet as well as the others did... I need a good pair for the gym and my cycling rehab path with a lot of plyometrics training...
I've been looking at the Groundsplay LS... AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO! Do I follow the size chart and pray so I don't lose money?
Anyone with a rec on sizing of the Groundsplay LS and/or V run Retros, compared to the KSO evos or the V alphas?
I'm just so tired of this... I was just "blessed" with wide ass feet from my indigenous heritage. I just wished I could get more comfy shoes aside from Softstar and Realfoot...

question Can I ever be barefoot? (shoeless = pain, shoes = no pain)
I live in slides, I wear them all the time when I’m not wearing my other shoes which I only wear to run or sometimes school.
After realizing how unhealthy it was that I was wearing shoes every waking moment, I decided to stop wearing shoes indoors and start going barefoot (with socks).
I tried to transition as slowly as possible, taking off my slides for a few hours at a time and going for a walk.
Pretty much as soon as I started, I got a really painful case of plantar fasciitis. The only thing that eases the pain is putting my slides back on.
I want my feet to be healthy and don’t wanna depend on shoes, but it feels impossible to achieve if I can’t even stand barefoot without pain.
What should I do? For now my plan is to abandon my barefoot pursuit until the inflammation heals and the pain stops and then try again. I also stopped my daily runs for now on doctors orders, which sucks because I miss it a lot.
Maybe I can at least switch to slippers and running shoes that are still cushioned, but with a wider toe box and less/no heel? Maybe that can be my goal for now, but I really wanna be able to walk barefoot without pain. Perhaps my biggest mistake was trying this on hardwood floors and concrete instead of grass or sand, my next attempt will definitely be on soft ground at first.
Any advice is appreciated. ❤️ I’ll try anything, even out of the box suggestions like “wear 5 pairs of socks for a week” (my sister suggested this, gonna try this).
PS: I tried posting this on the plantar fasciitis subreddit and it got deleted for some reason, sorry if this is the wrong place.
