BYU has been on a great trajectory these past several seasons. The Cougars just barely missed the Big 12 Championship in 2024 and made it in 2025 but lost to Texas Tech. 2026 feels like the year that BYU makes the leap and wins the Big 12 Championship and subsequently secures a CFP bid. The NCAA Division I Cabinet unanimously approved the organization’s age-based eligibility proposal

Should BYU be concerned about unintended consequences of limited eligibility for returned missionaries? I get this is to make sure college students are actually playing college games, but wouldn't this remove 2 years of eligibility for a 2 year mission?

I’m sure some of you listen to Pardon My Take as it is the biggest sports podcast. Today’s episode featured Roger Bennet talking about the World Cup.

He mused on which traditions from the WC might catch on in American sports. The two examples:
