Ok, Does anyone else know what the best thing to do when using the kiosks is?

Also should they be made have express kiosks like the self service tills? I went to return a bag of bottles yesterday, 6 I think. Just as I approach a woman gets there in front of me with a child. There are 4 large bin bags in the trolley. She lets the child who is in the child seat of the trolley hand her the bottles which slows her down more. The machine than gets an error so she lines up behind the only other kiosk where someone else has 2 large bin bags.

I couldn't be bothered waiting so went back to the car with the bags.

Honestly, why do people wait so long to bulk return?

What are others opinions on making this better?

Our kid just turned 18, he doesn't listen to us at all and is extremely disrespectful, he's been like that for the last 3 or so years now, but lately he started getting really verbal and nasty.

He doesn't obey any of the house rules, does nothing to help out around the house, doesn't clean after himself and leaves mess everywhere, leaves food out until it spoils, walks around in dirty boots, slams every door, tosses and leaves his things all over the place, cooks himself food at midnight when everyone tries to sleep and leaves a mess for us to clean the following day.

When we confront him or just try to talk, he just gets extremely disrespectful and angry, won't let us finish a single sentence, he'll just tell us to stfu and make some snarky comments, laughing at the way we look or speak.

He's still in school, but got himself a summer job, he thinks he's better and smarter than every person who talks to him.

I'm literally at my wit's end with this kid... What can I possibly do to control him? I am losing my mind here.

For example the current Prime Ministers of: UK, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand all have Irish Heritage (they were also all raised Catholic).

Mate of mine is getting married. He wants to invite his team and a couple others from the office cause they're friendly (do things outside work together - astro, pints, etc). He doesn't want his manager there cause they're a dry plonker, but thinks they'll be slyly spiteful about it if not invited when others are.

He's thinking of the politics of it all and saying he already has a load of political invites sent out to distant relatives and loose family acquaintances. I was saying its not a thing to invite your manager "just cause", but is it? My wedding was very small so this shit never popped up.

He's in a bit of a knot about it so hasnt invited anyone from work yet cause of this one thing. For reference its a massive company with hundreds in the building so its not some small office.

It struck me the other day that I've been paying something in the region of €13 per quarter to the CU's car draw for around 15 years and I've never seen so much as a cent if it back. They post up the winners every month in the branch, so there's at least an air of legitimacy and occasionally you'll have the mother point out someone in town who won the car whenever ago. There's a bit of a smell of a local raffle about the whole thing. In all honesty, I rarely go near my account so for the better part of those 15 years I've never even thought about the draw. Is it a well-known scam and I'm the gobshite to keep paying in or am I just supremely unlucky to never have even gotten the €1k 5th prize?

For me it’s the INCREDIBLE drying. Getting through multiple loads of washing in a day, what a rush.

For some context:

I (M24) am a contractor in the environmental sciences sector, been working at my job for about a year now. This is my first job out of college and I work full time (~50 hours per week). I am not paid for annual leave. So far this year (since Jan) I have taken 20 days off for various things, sick leave, holidays, etc. I did not take any time off from September to December last year as I knew I wasn’t being paid for it and I had just started… I was looking for a day off in August but had my manager come back to me saying that I’ve “used up all my annual leave for the year” and that my request would be denied… also saying that I wouldn’t get more days off until January 2027.

Is this legal/allowed? I was under the impression that as long as milestones were being met, that they couldn’t control my AL as I am not being paid for it. Any advice on this would be helpful and would love to just hash it out with people, see if I’m being unreasonable.

Can anyone suggest a brand of good frozen goujons? Whichever store is fine, would like that information as well.

Ok I don’t have notions! But I have just proven my own theory. White processed stuff isn’t filling me up. Bare with me now on this:

I was eating white ciabattas or bagels (from the shelf area) in the morning with an omelette. Used to find myself hungry within 2-3 hours! Sometimes felt I could actually eat 2 bagels because I’d finish one and wouldn’t feel full at all.

Last week I did a test, bought the Rye sourdough from Dunnes Bakery and had it with my usual omelette. I swear I was able to go 4-5 hours without thinking of food. Only problem is, didn’t like the taste of Rye at all.

On the hunt for something more palatable. Lidl bread from the bakery is full of processed stuff just like the shelf stuff. Any breads you’ve tried (wholemeal/grain/rye/fiber etc) that aren’t processed and keep you full? I see Dunnes have a high fiber loaf and cob?

So my mam is elderly and lives alone and the house is up a long lane and can't be seen from the road. This morning she woke up and this car was parked outside her house right where my dad always parked before he died. About an hour later a man came up and ignored her talking to him completely and just got in and drove off. I'm worried about his motives. Can anyone think why he would have done this. Her nearest neighbours don't know anything about it. The Nct was out on the car.

A guy from U.K. who has a channel abt overcoming insecurity / lack of esteem & confidence etc, posted an insightful vid recently about how Irish people he’d randomly met travelling inadvertently & positively influenced a change in his personal (and broader) view of life.

Watched it through & he seems very honest/hunble , down to earth abt himself, seemed sound fella, the type I’d buy a pint for.

Anyway, I found it interesting to hear about how cultural traits (we might take for granted) when abroad can have a positive ripple effect.

We’re not perfect but I enjoyed learning abt simple , random things that left an impression.

Any club who would let an international player join for a month or two? Alternatively, are pick up hurling games a thing where scrimmages are held where people just show up? Thanks!

- can you select the start date or does it switch same day?

- how do you avoid fees from original provider if it switches automatically?

- if you can select the date is it the date of expiry of existing contract or the next day?

I'm in Seabury, Malahide, and for the last couple of nights I've been hearing noises starting at 1am and lasting til 4am at times!! It doesn't sound like it's coming from my estate, but maybe the one behind me. I know estates can echo noises weirdly, so it's hard to tell.

It sounds like someone is moving wheelie bins, or throwing things in a skip. It's almost like far away thunder I'm tempted to drive around to follow it.

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or has any knowledge of work going on in the area? I did wonder if it's the warehouse across the estuary in Donabate, but I doubt the sound would travel that far.

Any suggestions/help is appreciated. GRMA.
