I had a friend post on here for me because I don’t use Reddit, but I just decided to make an account. I’m a full time student at UCSB and I’m trying to find a job right now, but my cat just got surgery and I used majority of my savings paying for it. I live in student housing, so he is required to be an ESA to live with me, I will include photo evidence.

For context, my cat is 8 years old turning 9 and he had to get teeth extractions. He had nine teeth removed which is a lot. Before the extractions, I got a call saying they found a surprise mass in the back of his throat and they needed to surgically remove it, and send it to the lab to test and make sure it’s not cancerous. The total cost for all these procedures ended up being more than I expected, and I ended up pretty much emptying what’s left in my bank account. I’m still in the process of job hunting, so I don’t have income right now. The very last bit of money I spent on his soft food post surgery that’ll last for the next month.

I’ve never done something like this before, so I’m not really sure how to proceed. I don’t like asking for handouts or posting, but I’m financially in a tough spot right now. Although I have certain resources that help me save a lot of money, I still have other bills outside of school to pay and without a job currently it’s been rough. I’m a pretty private person and I don’t like sharing personal information on social media, but I was made aware scammers are everywhere especially when it comes to pets so I understand. I’m taking the advice from a comment left on my friend’s post about posting the invoice with my cat in frame and username/date written on top. Anything helps and any feedback/advice is welcome!

Hello. This is going to be a little long but please bear with me. My partner and I have been getting put through the wringer recently and I am at the point of panic.

We have had to miss a significant amount of work due to a seemingly never ending cycle of car troubles. I'm in pretty heavy debt from 2 different CV axle failures as mentioned in a previous post in a different help sub, as well as alternator and starter replacements over the last year. I ended up taking a loan out of my pitiful 403(b) to catch up on bills. My mom has been a huge source of help in times like these in the past but she asked for a demotion at work (long story) so her money is tight now.

We've got about a day's worth of electricity left in my prepaid account (though I count myself incredibly blessed to have a prepaid electricity account as an option).

My dogs are out of kibble and we are nearing the end of the people food (not nearly as worried about people food as I am about them). My partner made them pork, lentils and wild rice for dinner out of our emergency rations last night but that only goes so far.

I missed the food pantries last week because my car was out of commission, and missed them again this week because I had to be at work during their distribution hours.

I tried to sell all of my books at a local bookstore but they would only offer store credit. I tried to sell my retro gaming stuff and I guess none of it was worth much.

I tried to sell my partners antique foreign coins from his grandfather but they don't seem to be worth much either and I don't know where to sell them that isn't online.

I can post whatever proof needed but I am hopeful that someone could maybe contribute some money to my electricity account and maybe order my dogs some food? I believe there is a way to add money straight in to my utility account without having to send it directly to myself.

Writing this is incredibly uncomfortable for me, but I’ve reached a point where I don’t know what else to do. I’m in urgent need of extensive dental care. Right now, I’m looking at potentially having most or all of my teeth extracted, depending on what a dentist determines can still be saved. After that, I’ll need some form of restoration so that I can eat normally and finally have a smile again.

I do have state insurance, and I’m grateful to have it, but getting the level of dental treatment I need in a reasonable amount of time has been extremely difficult. I also don't have thousands of dollars available to pay for this myself.

I survived sexual, physical, and emotional abuse throughout my childhood. Hygiene was sometimes used as a form of punishment and control. When I fought back or refused what my father wanted from me sexually, basic things like being able to properly clean myself could be taken away from me. I wasn't allowed to simply feel clean or pretty, and even bathing could become something he controlled. My baby teeth were already rotting before I was six .I experienced abuse from multiple people throughout my childhood until I was around 15. I survived it, grew up, got married, became a mother, and eventually did something I never imagined myself doing: I went to college. I'm 32 now, but my teeth are one physical reminder of that childhood that I've never been able to escape.

For years I've looked in the mirror and felt disgusted with myself because of them. I've hidden my smile, avoided pictures, and silently carried the embarrassment. I know logically that what happened when I was a little girl wasn't something I chose, but that doesn't make looking at the damage every day any easier.

I'm not expecting a stranger to magically pay for an entire new smile, but maybe if i could get a remote high paying position to help me get there faster..

hi! I tried to post this last night but it was deleted, not sure why. I just moved out and I wanna thrift furniture from stores and marketplace but the issue is I have no way of transporting it back to my place. I don’t know anyone in real life with a car or truck that can help me transport it. any ideas on what I can do? trying to save money by thrifting and be more environmentally conscious/friendly. Sometimes I offer people on marketplace a bit of extra money if they could deliver but mostly they say no.

Hello! I live in upstate NY and I’m trying to figure out whether choosing between education (health or physical education) or accounting would be a better fit for me. I live in a very financially hard household and I’d like to help my parents out eventually after college when I graduate. Thing is, I feel I’m more passionate in education or working with children but I know it doesn’t make a whole lot starting off. And I don’t think I’d mind accounting but it isn’t my first pick, and accounting makes pretty decent money depending on the place.

So I don’t know, if I choose Physed/health education I’d have to transfer to a school that offers it, or continue at the school I’m at now with accounting.

So what do you think, I’d appreciate any advice, suggestions or guidance.

Hello i am from Birmingham and im currently 20yrs old i live in a hmo which is paid by my universal credit.

I as a teen lived with st basils from 15-17 as living with family was not an option. St basils changed towards the end of my process and i was forced to either re enroll and spend another 2 years in the system or be considered "homeless" and leave i was unaware of the problems with HMOs and unfortunately chose this option scared that i would be stuck in a loop with St basils. I have since been lost trying to figure a way out but due to not being able to work as my universal credit would stop this would make me homeless. I have wanted to work and move forward with my life but i feel as if i am trapped in a bad situation with no exit i have a strong desire to work and im sick and tired of living this way of life how would i better my situation and move forward?.

Hi everyone, my partner and I moved into an apartment 8 months ago and we have been dealing with a cockroach infestation, a seemingly “unfixable” leak, and mold.

We are currently in the process of breaking our lease and will be suing the management property for damages and expenses but we need help getting into a new place. We are trying every route available to us but we weren’t anticipating having to relocate only 8 months into our 13 month lease.

I’ve never really thought I’d be in a position to be writing something like this. Even if you take the time to read it and boost it’ll be appreciated. I don’t expect anything, I am however taking all of the chances that I can.

I’m a student and estranged from my family. I have been living at university for the past two years, and have subsequently kept on top of my finances. However, 3 weeks ago, my brother, who was the only one I kept in contact with had passed away, and my parents refused to help fund his funeral, which I had to do with remainders of my student finance and also savings from jobs I’ve had over the years.

I need to pay out £650 towards my rent immediately, and if I’m unable to I’ll be at a risk of losing my accommodation. I have gotten in contact with my university, but they take a while to process a payment, if it even comes to that.

I’ve been trying to keep everything together and sort things out on my own, through friends, random odd jobs and so on, however I haven’t been able to make that amount besides my deposit as well. I feel ashamed having to write this, as I’ve never thought I’d come to the terms of it.

I’m not a scammer, and I definitely would never love to be on here and ask for this favour, however if anyone at all is capable of help, and willing, it would be highly appreciated.
