"bokete" is essentially the Japanese equivalent of r/CaptionThis, but on a massive, country-wide scale. It is an image-based comedy platform operating for 18 years since 2008, holding a monumental archive of around 116,000,000 user-submitted posts.

On September 30, 2026, the mobile apps will completely shut down. The web version will stop allowing new posts and will turn into a read-only site for a very limited selection of specific topics. This means the vast majority of its 18-year history, user accounts, individual posts, and comments will become inaccessible.

The official announcement states that they do not provide a bulk download tool for users, so community-driven archiving is urgently needed before this legendary piece of Japanese internet culture disappears. Could you please look into this or add it to the project list? Thank you!

Our TV archivist, **Singapore TV Archive (@SGTVArchive)** has been terminated from YouTube after recieving 3 copyright strike from National Archives of Singapore. For the media archiving community, this is more than just the loss of a single channel. It's a reminder that preserving history is becoming increasingly difficult.

Hey all, I have a mediawiki that's nearing 20 years old. The software/server haven't been updated in at least 10 to 15, so it's running on a fairly ancient LAMP stack and is almost certainly vulnerable to exploitation. The wiki has been locked down 10+ years ago and is essentially read-only and will no longer change.

I'd like to mirror it and just host a static copy of it so I don't have to lose sleep at night. I was thinking maybe I'd set up some sort of reverse-proxy-cache that saves to disk, and then after a month or two, once I'm satisfied the whole site has been cached, I can switch to hosting a purely static website that doesn't require mysql/php/etc.

Does anyone have a recommendation on the best approach to accomplish this?

Presently, the website Archive of Nethys hosts reference documents for the tabletop game Pathfinder. However, due to the end of their partnership with Paizo, some of those documents are going away as of July 24 (ten days from now), specifically:

• The legacy Pathfinder Reference Document hosted at https://legacy.aonprd.com/ .
• Various art in the non-legacy Pathfinder Reference Document pages.

At least the legacy PRD website should be archived before then - is anyone able to help with this?

Does anybody know a place where they archive old YouTube videos that have been deleted?. Really hoping to find this old YouTube video that I I loved watching when I was a kid. It was an old AMV from Yu-Gi-Oh. It was up online from about 2012 when I first discovered it eventually a few years later, it ended up getting muted, but you could still watch the full video. And then eventually it got taken down in between February 2018 and July 2018.

I found my old funny or die account on the way back machine is there anyway to watch or download the old videos? It won’t play them for me.
