I currently have a 13 Pro, and it’s about time for me to upgrade. I was originally gonna wait for the 18 Pro to come out to upgrade to that, but now after hearing that the 18 Pro lineup may get a price hike as a bunch of other Apple products did, I’m reconsidering just getting a 17 Pro instead.

So I guess my question is, should I still wait to get an 18 Pro, even with its potentially increased price tag, or should I just get a 17 Pro now (or when it’s price goes down once the 18 releases)? I can afford both as it is, but I wanted to get some other opinions/thoughts.

I have been using an iPhone 12 Pro Max since its release.

Before that I was on a 24 month refresh cycle.

Now I am ready for a new Phone. I just replaced the battery on the 12 Pro Max to hand it down to the kids.

I will certainly not go with a Pro next, as I am tight with money these days. I'll miss the 3rd camera, but it's just not worth the price hike for me. I would have probably gotten a pro if it was titanium... Aluminum feels like butter. Drop once, big dent.

I plan to keep the new phone for at least 4 years.

I am pretty certain that the iPhone 18 will be significantly more expensive, so I think I'll get the 17, no matter when I'll get it.

After prices of iPhones increased by ~10% in Japan, I wonder:

1. Should I get the 17 right now, as prices might increase?
2. Should I wait for the release of the 18 and get the 17 at a potential discount from a reseller, as it used to be in the past...

I'm planning to buy an iPhone as my Samsung S23+ is dying. I've had it for 3 years, and the battery drains very quickly despite putting everything on saving mode. I was considering an iPhone as people claim it lasts longer than any Android phone. What I really want is a similar screen size to mine (6.6) and a better camera, as this is the function I use the most. I naturally ended up looking at the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The price tag is quite high, so I started to look at the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I found the 15 Pro Max, 512GB for 1489 CAD on Apple Refurbished, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is at 2049 CAD (512GB) or 1789 CAD (258GB) brand new. I don't feel like this is worth it for a phone that's two generations old, almost three. What do you think? Thank you

The only ones left in stores are refurbished, used, or with opened boxes. I really need a brand-new, unopened one and I don’t want it to turn out to be a scam with a box full of rocks or something. Could you guys please help me... I’ve checked all the websites I know, and I’m ready to order from somewhere overseas. (I'm in Europe, specifically Poland)

And please don't tell me to buy 17, I have a personal reason for why I need this exact model.

I purchased the ESR Geo Stand Wallet (£42.99) and Moft 2-card wallets (£39.99) for my silver iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both wallets are full Find My functionality, but the ESR was too bulky and I hated the branding, and the Moft is awkward to use and does not feel as durable.

I am on a budget and, including shipping, have picked up the same Moft wallet (without Find My compatibility) for £11.99 and the first-generation Apple leather wallet (2020) in black for £17.50. This is less than the price of just one of the cases I previously mentioned in the paragraph above.

Do you think this was a good change?

I’d also like to find a “Find My” card that I can fit in these wallets. It would need to be thin. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi all! I currently have a 14 Plus which I got pre-owned around 3 years ago. The one I had before was the 11 Pro Max. I like the size of both of them and don't care too much about weight.

Recently went to a concert and long story short, realized I was due for an upgrade. Most conspicuous reasons beings

1. I had arguably some of the best seats in the arena (lower bowl at eye level facing the center front of the stage) and my camera could not even get a clear picture of her face. People next to me were recording videos with clarity and vibrancy 10x better than what I had and it was almost embarrassing to pull out and record or take pictures of anything
2. My camera always puts a strange filter over my pictures when I take selfies... Unfortunately I am somewhat conceited and hate what it does to my pictures. It discolors me and I know it's not what I look like because if I screenshot my camera app vs when I take the actual picture the colors are different. :(
3. My storage is 128 GB and I am at 100. I have icloud storage and whatnot but I only have space leftover after doing a deep clean twice. I'd like a bit more storage
4. My phone is just a bit slow in general. Lag happens too often that I am almost used to it... I feel like that is not a good thing

My budget would ideally be 1000(lower being better of course) but if it is truly a noticeably great upgrade am willing to be slightly flexible. Would also ideally like to keep this for the next 4/5 at least. I don't mind buying preowned. Or should I hold out for the next phone? Will take any and all perspectives and suggestions as long as there's some insight or reasoning :)

As an Apple tech-obsessed GenZer with adult money, I wanted to share my setup with you guys and give an honest ranking after using everything daily as a young professional.

Disclaimer obviously: I'm not a tech reviewer lol. I don't know about benchmarks or specs, and I'm definitely not going to pretend like I do. I'm just someone who really loves Apple products (and really loves to yap), use them every day for work, and figured I'd share what I think is actually worth buying.

AirPods Pro

Literally everyone recommends them and there's a reason for that. If I was going to buy one Apple accessory, I'd probably get these.

I honestly don't even know which version I have, possibly the 2 ? But I've had them for years and they're still going strong.

They're probably my most-used Apple product after my phone and Mac. Perfect for the gym, running, traveling, and meetings thanks to how small and minimalist they are. The ANC is great, and they pair well with all my devices. I honestly forget I'm wearing them half of the time.

The MacBook

Personally, I have a 15" MacBook Air with an M5 chip. I previously had the 14" MacBook Pro (M3), but the Pro really wasn't worth the extra money for what I do (mostly reading, researching, and writing), so I decided to invest in more RAM and storage instead.

I absolutely loved the 14" size, but it was noticeably bulkier than the MBA, which ultimately tipped the scales in favor of the Air when it came time to choose my next laptop.

Yes, it is an expensive for a laptop (granted I chose the 32GB, 2TB version), but it's probably the best Apple product I've ever owned.

I originally bought the 13", but exchanged it for the 15" after switching to a single Studio Display and buying an Ipad for portability.

I travel a lot for work, and having a larger screen means it can realistically replace my desktop monitor in hotels or when I'm away.

My advice: if portability is your #1 priority, get the 13". If you spend most of your day at a desk reading, writing and multitasking, I believe the extra screen real estate on the 15" makes a noticeable difference.

I'm well aware that it may not be the best laptop in the market, but hey, we're also here because we love Apple products lol.

The iPhone

I still think the iPhone offers the best overall smartphone experience in terms of UI/UX.

The phone in the picture is my old iPhone 13, since my current iPhone 17 Pro Max is the one taking the photo.

I also think the iPhone 13 is one of Apple's best designs. It was the perfect size, felt great in the hand, and somehow never seemed to heat up.

As much as I love the battery life and performance of the 17 Pro Max, it's simply too big for me. I have pretty small hands lol, and I've realized I much prefer a phone that I can comfortably use with one hand. I've also noticed that my 17 Pro Max gets noticeably warmer than my old 13 ever did.

I'm planning to switch to the regular iPhone 18 Pro as soon as it's released.... Not gonna lie, but I'm already obsessed with that Dark Cherry color.

Luxury but worth it

iPad + Magic Keyboard and Pencil

I have an iPad Air 11" (M4) and it is probably the Apple product that surprised me the most.

I'll be honest, and don't hate me, but I used to think iPads were kind of a scam. I just couldn't understand why anyone would spend almost as much, or sometimes even more, than a MacBook on a device that was less powerful and couldn't run macOS. In my head, they were the kind of things people bought because they had money to burn, used for a week, and then left in a drawer to collect dust.

Turns out... I was completely wrong. I use this thing all the time now and there are days when I reach for it before my MacBook.

It's become my go-to device for flights, trains, coffee shops, or just sitting outside on my terrace. I use it for reading documents, answering emails, watching YouTube, listening to music, browsing Reddit... basically everything that doesn't require me to pull out my laptop.

It's truly perfect when I'm traveling for work. I pair it with my 15" MBA as a second display, and having a dual-screen setup that still fits in a backpack is honestly amazing. Working from hotels is so much more comfortable now, especially with the extra screen of the 15''.

Important note though: the Magic Keyboard is what completely changed my opinion of the iPad. Without it, I wouldn't recommend an iPad to most people. With it, though, it feels like the perfect middle ground between an iPhone and a MacBook. It doesn't (and isn't trying to) replace the MacBook, but it's way more than a big iPhone.

If you're thinking about getting an iPad, my advice is this: if your budget allows it, get the Magic Keyboard too. I genuinely think it's what makes the iPad worth owning.

AirPods Max 2

I love them. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a sucker for aesthetic and good design, but I think they're one of the coolest-looking headphones on the market. They look futuristic as hell.

Do they sound better than my Sennheiser HDB 630? Not really. But do I use them more? Absolutely. I use them even more than my AirPods Pro, and that's saying a lot as someone who is constantly listening to music.

The seamless switching between my Mac, iPad, and iPhone is incredibly convenient, the build quality is excellent, and they're very comfortable to wear for long periods.They're perfect for long rides, listening to movies, and I also love the lossless audio.

They are bulkier than a lot of other headphones but you get used quite rapidly and it's like they're not even there after a certain period of time.

If you're an audiophile, there are definitely better-sounding headphones for the price. But if you're already invested in the Apple ecosystem, they're a luxury that are genuinely enjoyable.

Magic Keyboard with Touch ID

I don't think the Magic Keyboard is a must-have, but if you're trying to recreate the MacBook experience, it's the obvious choice.

As for Touch ID, I initially bought the version without it because I couldn't justify paying extra for one additional button.

Turns out, I was constantly reaching over to my MacBook to unlock it. It's one of those tiny annoyances that really adds up over time, and since I spend 10–12 hours a day at my desk, anything that makes my workflow a little smoother and optimizes my setup is worth it.

So naturally, having Touch ID built into the keyboard ended up being one of those small quality-of-life upgrades that I now use dozens of times a day. I didn't think I'd care about it, but I definitely do.

Now as for the numeric keypad: I was actually gifted the Magic Keyboard with it before buying my current one, and I absolutely hated it. It just added unnecessary width to my desk for a bunch of keys I never used. My hands were always positioned on the left side of the keyboard anyway, so it felt like wasted space. Unless you work with numbers all day, I'd personally skip the numeric keypad.

Magic Trackpad

I love it. I know it's not for everyone, especially if you've always used a mouse or don't own a MacBook. But before I bought an external monitor, I worked exclusively on my MacBook, and I still do whenever I travel, so using a trackpad just feels second nature to me.

Once you get used to it, the gestures become hard to live without. Swiping between desktops, navigating tabs, zooming, etc...everything just feels incredibly fluid and intuitive.

Also, if you're trying to decide between the Magic Mouse and the Magic Trackpad, I'd get the Trackpad without hesitation. I think it's one of Apple's most underrated accessories.

Wouldn't buy again and wouldn't recommend

Studio Display (unless money isn't really a consideration...but even then)

My Studio Display (2026) is genuinely a beautiful monitor. The 5K display is stunning, the speakers are incredible, the webcam is excellent, and the build quality is exactly what you'd expect from Apple.

I actually bought the Nano-texture version first because I was worried about reflections. I spend 10–12 hours a day in front of my monitor (and I have ADHD), so I really didn't want glare affecting my productivity. In the end, though, I just couldn't get past the slightly grainy look of the Nano-texture display. I exchanged it for the standard glass version and honestly haven't looked back.

One design choice I still don't understand, though, is having all the ports on the same side. For a monitor that costs this much, I really think Apple should've put Thunderbolt/USB-C ports on both sides. I bought the 1.8 meters chord but I hate the look, and it takes up too much place so I actually decided to rearrange my whole desk and move my Mac from the left side to the right just to make the cable management work.. It did end up working out though because I realized I naturally glance over at my Mac more when it's on the right. But for a monitor at this price, I really don't think I should've had to redesign my setup around where Apple decided to put the ports.

Also, yes, it's glossy, and yes, you'll notice reflections under certain lighting conditions (especially on dark backgrounds if you have bright lights behind you). But honestly, it has never affected my workflow. My apartment is actually pretty bright during the day, and once I'm focused on work, I barely notice the reflections.

Ironically, my previous monitor, the BenQ MA270U, was actually less reflective than the Studio Display. It was also designed for Macs, looked great, and cost significantly less. The only real downside was that the display wasn't quite as sharp as the Studio Display's 5K panel, and every now and then it would act up when waking my MacBook Air from sleep. Nothing major, just an occasional annoyance.

The Studio Display is objectively the better monitor BUT I just don't think it's worth paying more than twice as much.

If someone asked me what monitor to buy, I'd recommend an LG UltraFine or a BenQ without hesitation. My BenQ MA270U paired beautifully with my MacBook, was noticeably less reflective than the Studio Display, and delivered an excellent experience for a fraction of the price.

And honestly, even if you can comfortably afford the Studio Display, I'm still not convinced that that's where I'd spend the extra money. I'd probably invest it instead. Or buy a Herman Miller chair lol.

Magic Mouse

Mine was actually a gift, I'd never buy one myself. Compared to the Magic Trackpad (or even something like the Logitech MX Master) it just doesn't improve my workflow.

It's also very different from a traditional mouse, and not in a good way, in my opinion. If you're going to spend time getting used to a new input device, I'd much rather recommend the Trackpad.

I've also never been a fan of the design, and the charging port on the bottom still makes absolutely no sense to me. Having to flip the mouse upside down to charge it means you can't use it while it's charging, which seems like a pretty bizarre design choice for such an expensive accessory.

Apple Watch

Probably my biggest disappointment, but maybe I'm just not the target audience.

I always have my phone with me anyway, so getting notifications on my wrist never really added much.

I bought the cellular model because I wanted to leave my phone at home when I went for runs, but in reality I always forget to charge it. I've also had enough issues with it connecting to my AirPods that I've ended up halfway through a run with no music. I'd rather just bring my iPod.

I also prefer wearing traditional watches, so my Apple Watch ends up sitting at my desk most of the time.

If you love yours, though, I'd genuinely be interested to hear what makes it indispensable for you. I feel like I'm probably just not using it to its full potential.

iPod Touch (6th generation)

It was a birthday gift. It's so damn cute though.

I use it occasionally when I want to go for a walk or a run without bringing my phone, and it's a nice way to disconnect from the internet for a bit. That said, I probably wouldn't buy one myself. I already have more than enough gadgets as it is.

So I’m really torn between these two devices which I can get for about the same amount of money. The good thing about the M5 is its longevity as it is brand new however other than being new the M1 Pro has a better screen, speakers, ports… at the same time I value longevity as well as having solid hardware. I currently own a barely working MBP 2017 15” 15/512 the 2,9ghz intel i7 config. I use my laptop mostly for office work, video streaming, listening to music sometimes, browsing the net, maybe some light gaming and most challenging but still easy photo/music editing.

I am in a bit confusion rn and i need ur help. I have 15 pro since almost 1.5 years it was refurbished (100% battery supposedly) but the battery is extremely terrible for my usage . I know i may use it alot but before it i had the 13 and it was almost perfect or at least slightly better than the 15 pro, right now i am thinking to change and i was wondering between the s26 ultra and the 17 base , for reference i have been ios since 2015 so i know the switching will be hard but honestly apple have been underwhelming or not advanced enough in the last years except for some phones . In germany both costs almost the same . I have a new airpods pro 3 as well which is honestly perfect in everything. I heard alot of good things about the base 17 and the s26 ultra aswell , i know a fair comparison would be 17 pro x s26 ultra but they are not the same price here unfortunately . What do you guys think?

i am switching from android to iPhone this year because my android is almost 6 years old. The thing is I hardly use my phone. My screen time everyday must be 1-2 hours because my primary device is either my laptop or my ipad. I want an iPhone mainly for the camera and the ecosystem so which is the best one for me rn?

The Macbook will be used for school. A lot of Powerpoint, Word and Excel. I will not use it for anything else then school stuff.

I’m looking to get an Apple Watch being I recently got an iPhone this year but I don’t know what one I should buy. I’m wanting to track my heart rate mainly but I’m also not sure what all you can do on the watches.

We’re about to get on a phone plan that covers the 17e for free but charges $22 US a month for 24 months for the 17. Most people here say that the 17 is worth $200 US more than the 17e….but is it worth $528 more? The camera is important to me as we do a lot of media to help shelter dogs get adopted…but I don’t know if $528 makes sense.

I currently have an iPhone 16e, a MacBook Air M4, and AirPods 4. Since my brother’s phone broke, I’m planning to give him my iPhone and buy a new one for myself.
I’m actually very happy with my 16e because it has a bigger battery, and I almost never use the camera. Most of the time I use my phone for social media, calls, messaging, and occasionally playing simple games like Archero 2.
Battery life is one of the most important things to me.
In my country, the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 16 Plus cost exactly the same. From what I’ve seen, the 16 Plus offers better battery life, while the main advantage of the 17 seems to be its 120Hz display.
I could also buy the iPhone 17e because I really like my 16e, but I don’t want a phone with a notch.
If you were in my situation, which one would you choose and why?

Hi everyone! First post here. I currently have the base model Iphone 13 and I am really happy with it. Got it almost 5 years ago, but it is still like new. The only two reasons, I am considering a new device are:
- I sadly bought the 128GB version, which at the time was more than enough for me, but sadly now almost half of it is taken up by the operating system and apps. I have 30GB of photos and videos.
- my battery is still doing okay, but I can see that it won’t last long.
What would be a smart decision in my case? For the battery, I could probably replace it, but there is still the memory issue. For some reason, I refuse to consider iCloud. I hate subscriptions. I would really like to have a device with 500GB. Any recommendations? Thank you all in advance!

Edit: I also read that upcoming phones might have easier to replace batteries. This sounds really appealing, but definitely will not be present in the upcoming iPhone.

I’ll be doing a lot of admin support (think multiple tabs open) and some light graphic design (think Canva and maybe Capcut desktop, not Adobe). I will likely use it for Spotify and TV streaming and general use at times too.

1. MacBook Air M1 series - excellent condition - M1 8-core - 7-core GPU - 16GB memory - 256GB storage [A$ 800]

2. MacBook Air M2 series - good condition - M2 8-core - 8-core GPU - 8GB memory - 256GB storage [A$ 950]

3. MacBook Air M3 series - excellent condition - M3 8-core - 8-core GPU - 8GB memory - 256GB storage [A$ 1250]

Good condition refers to light signs of use on the body, flawless screen, verified parts, battery for daily use.

Big price range so I’d love to hear from people who know about the specific differences with the M series. Also if anyone’s able to ‘dumb down’ what the differences are between the models and ‘core’ meaning I’d really appreciate it 🙏🏽

With verizon i can trade in my iphone 12 128gb and get an iphone 17 pro for about $250 right now. Should I get the 17 pro for $250 or wait for the 18 pro?

Hey there, I've been using Android since a very long time and finally decided to buy an iPhone. I will be joining a med school soon, and am planning to use my phone for atleast 5-6 years, with occasional videos for YT. I know I'm asking a lot but I want the best for the price. I was hoping to go for iPhone 17 Pro but the differences are very minor, considering the price jump from the base. Hence, which one should I go for, iPhone 17 (256 or 512GB) or iPhone 17 Pro (256GB)

P.S.: I'll buy an iPad Air 256GB soon for the actual medical school notes and books. Kindly help.

I would like to share my dilemma. Comming from iphone 12, Iam deciding between air and a pro model. In my country Air 1Tb is cirka 1050$ and 17 pro 512gb is around 1300$. (I am not gonna use any cloud service, therefore I want more memory.

I love the feel of the air in the hand, the larger display, the look, I am not a professional photographer and I am not a heavy user (around 3-5hrs screen time).

But I am also buying a phone again for atleast 5-6 years. This fall I am also becomming the father (so you know all variables haha). So maybe a telephoto and ultrawide might come in handy. I am worried about the battery life, but the battery can be changed ofc.

I have never been so indecisive in my life (first world problems)….

Its more of a battle between brain (pro) and heart (air).

Anybody had similar dilemma? Would be nice to see your perspective. Thank you!

i currently have a 14pro 128gb. i’m pretty much out of storage so my main goal is to upgrade storage. either way i am getting the 512gb.
i like the idea of the system cooling/venting feature of the pro but much prefer the color options of the base model. EDIT: is the system cooling worth the entire upgrade? what’s the big deal day to day? i’m not on my phone all that much.
camera wise i really just take pictures of my kids and sunsets and the occasional concert.
i don’t care to wait for the 18, i’m out of storage and it’s bugging me.
thoughts? opinions? is it worth it to get the 17 base or in that case should i just go for the 16 since its cheaper and looks similar? or at that point would i be sacrificing upgrades that are worth it?
