Flutter V/S React Native
I have been trying to develop some APKs. From what i have heard, Flutter is good for its UI and Efficiency and for all other stuffs React Native is good. IF someone have experienced anything about those. Please Suggest me something,i personally think React Native would be a better choice as i am from web development. Thanks!

Sanity-checking budget/timeline before I post an RFP for a contractor build — feedback welcome
I'm getting ready to post an RFP for a fixed-fee dev build and wanted a gut check from people who actually do this kind of work before it goes out.
It's a real-time multiplayer app (think social game, players in a shared room, live score sync, sessions that can run over several days instead of one sitting).
Building it web-first (React/Vite + Supabase for auth/db/realtime), then wrapping it for iOS and Android with Capacitor, with Stripe on web and native IAP on mobile.
Budget I'm working with is $16–26k fixed fee for the whole build (web + native wrap), paid out over milestones. Timeline is roughly 3 months, kickoff to app store submission.
Trying to figure out before this goes live:
Does that budget range seem reasonable for this scope, or am I off somewhere?
Is 3 months realistic for one dev or a small team, especially with native IAP in the mix — that's usually the part that eats time. Any concerns with Supabase Realtime for this kind of multiplayer sync at small-medium scale?
And is fixed-fee + milestones the right structure here, or would you expect to bid this hourly instead?
Not trying to lowball anyone, just want the numbers to be realistic before real people are quoting against them.
Thanks!

Looking for an AI developer
Hey! I’m planning to build an AI-powered system that can automate repetitive tasks and also deploy intelligent agents for customer support and internal workflows. Before I proceed, I wanted to ask if you have experience with similar types of projects.

How can I let reviewers bypass a paywall in an app with no account system?
My last app was more straightforward: "here's a login for a free account, here's a login for a premium account" - but this app doesn't actually use a traditional account system and just makes use of Revenuecat with "restore purchase" buttons etc included.
So my question is, how can I give Google access to the paid content if they need it? Is it acceptable to have a secret menu (i.e, tap 'about' 7 times and the prompt screen will open) where they can enter a code to unlock the app?
And is there anything I need to consider with iOS if I do this?

Detecting Performance Issues Across Devices
How do mobile teams detect performance issues that only happen on certain devices, OS versions, or network conditions?
Some users may experience slow loading, freezing, or failed screens while the app works fine for others.
Do you segment monitoring by device model, OS version, app version, region, network type, or user session behaviour?
Interested in how developers identify these hidden performance problems before they become widespread complaints.

New Fully Customizable Social Media App
Right now I am developing (vibecoding) a highly customizable social media app that will be different from anything mainstream. It will have a dedicated customize section for every page (Home, Explore, Post, Activity, and Profile.)
-
Home Tab
For home it will allow you to have auto mode for the algorithm to learn from your scrolling activity and adjust based off of that, you can switch this to a custom mode in which you adjust meters to match your algorithmic needs as a user. Im thinking of a hashtag system similar to how instagram added a few months ago, however it may need to be broad chosen categories.
There is a dropdown arrow menu that will allow you to select quick presets (Auto mode with a line below it that has 3 options to add). In the home customize menu under the feed tab it will allow you to select up to 8 but only have 3 on quick arrow.
The same will be the case for following, you can have the exact amount of presets to your choosing for the people you follow, who you want to see, who you don’t want to see, etc.
There will be a community tab that allows you to select a location from the world map. (you don’t have to enable location if you don’t want to) Or you can have an intrest based community option that allows you to be in say a Minecraft community or Hiking, etc.
This will also have presets, the same as the others.
There will be likes and dislikes, where when you open the comments of a video it will display the action like to dislike ratio at the top of the comments. (Modern social media should’ve never removed it)
It will also have normal functions like saves, reposts, etc.
With the customize menu, on launch it will be more tailored towards user algorithm choice, but in the future it will have things like left handed mode, dyslexia mode, etc. (Modern apps don’t really tailor to people that have different accessibility types.)
I most definitely forgot some things, feel free to ask about something and I will answer. Also just adding that most things I added are presented as future tense but I have already add many.
-
Explore Tab
There will be a “your bubbles” page and it will be highly customizable once again, allowing the user to select auto mode if they wish to have one tailored to their activity, as well as having the same preset system as before. This time it will act as IOS widgets in the sense that you could have a small weather display next to your recent national politics bar. Or your city suggested food spots window next to your biking trail suggestions window.
It will also allow you to block certain things permanently if you want. Obviously you can block users but also can block sensitive topics like words or hashtags. Let’s say you have a hatred for baseball, you can turn off any post that has baseballs involved in its description, or in the future the app can detect it if you allow via AI
When you search something it will act alot like TikTok in terms of what will show up. If you look for seals, then seals will show up on a 2 video scrollable page. I see a future way to turn off where it detects whats relevant to the specific user, and just displays the most viewed/most recent results, some people may not want the app to cater to them just like a tailored algorithm.
Basically. Explore main page will act alot like X but for the users widget choosing, and search will act like TikTok with preferences for what you want to show up or dont want to show up
There will be other tabs like news, trending, potentially store in the future. Trending would be slightly different in showing you top 15 trending things kind of how x does it.
-
Post Tab
Post tab will act as a TikTok and Snapchat Hybrid. It will be lightweight like snapchat in terms of you being able to click post tab record a video and send it to friends, but firm and cemented where you can click continue and it will send you to the post section (Share button on bottom right, post continue button on bottom left)
It will allow you to customize post/camera presets the same as everything else. If you have a cinematic filter preset with things tweaked to your choosing, you can select that to take pictures, if you want the normal mode, it will be on auto.
It will have the normal ability to add photos or slides, as well as a description that will appear below name. Hashtags will be a separate entity from the description unlike TikTok, it will appear below the description of a post bottom left.
You will be able to select permissions for the post if you want, such as private, friends only, selected people only, etc. collab posts will be near future.
There may be some things im forgetting as well.
This tab will have the least bit of customization out of all 5 tabs, but still have way more than any other social media app.
-
Activity Tab
To get personal here, it’s absolutely atrocious how ever other social media app treats any activity section as a literal junk box, so I want this app to have a clean and clear interface
There will be the default messages tab where it will have snapchat/discord style messages where people message all on the left side of the screen, however you will be able to customize where you can go to normal message style where you are on the right and others are on the left, as well as bubbles or non bubbles.
There will be message themes just like snapchat where you can have custom colors and photos as well
Message customize tab will have people you can mute, if you want to see message preview, silent mode, etc. many little things
Notifications tab will be very organized, you can openly select what notifications to sort through. It will be sorted through video and also be sorted through type. Example: Lets say i post video of dog and someone comments. It will show the main video of dog and the comment that was said but if i want to make it easy I can select comment icon and it will easily show the comments for my videos.
I know explaining that was bad, im on a time crunch right now, but this is one of the things I have already developed and can show images if asked. It will be the most advanced yet clean sorting system that counteracts any clutter.
Notifications again same as messages can be silenced based off of the system mentioned. You can mute a specific post or type of user reaction like reposts.
I plan on potentially having a map tab here of the world, similar to snapmap. This would be a friend oriented thing, I know I enjoy seeing what my friends are up to on snapmap so this would be cool.
-
Profile
Profile will be way more customizable than any other social media. You will have a profile picture, profile background, follower cluster, all customizable. Im debating whether to add custom fonts for users to choose, im not sure yet. You can customize who see what profile tabs, like one guy can see your saves while another cant see it if you want.
You will be able to pin videos like normal, im also debating whether to make it 6 pinned videos as opposed to 3. For the user operating their own profile it will have: Posts, saved, likes, reposts, tagged, privated, maybe comments.
You may ask why so many post tabs, and how do you plan density. To solve this, you simply add an expander arrow below the first row. The user can also choose where these things belong. It will have a default assortment but also allow the user to have the posts on the far right or saved in the middle, etc.
You will also be able to have what tabs show to public, likes, comments, and saved could be disabled for them. By default, Post, repost, and tagged will appear to outsiders.
Outside social connections will be lined up on the left side of the screen, it may be an expandable menu for them instead of line up if you have a certain amount like 3 or above, but it will be organized. YouTube, Twitch, X, TikTok, etc. will be available to link.
I may add a store tab that is a separate section than profile, it will let people have a tiktok shop sort of thing going on but keep it seperate than your main profile, this will definitely be future
Again 3rd time being said Im sure I forget some things I have as ideas/have already been implemented.
-
Customize Tabs
Customize will be a big blue button the size of an iphone oval hole punch at the top of the screen that says ‘customize’.
“What if I don’t want it in the way?” Simply swipe it to the right and it will be a little meter adjustment icon on the top right of your screen. I will probably add a universal toggle for all of them so you dont manually have to swipe every page. It serves as the main feature of the app, so making it visually accessible at every main page in the app is essential. Hiding it in settings or in a sub menu is not an option.
Individual messages even have this button for each chat to customize, except by default it is the small meter adjustment icon to allow for density.
Universally they will all have settings icon that sends you to the app settings (profile will have this in the corner but you can also access this via customize menu for ease of access.)
Universally they will also have a feedback panel at the bottom that allows you to select what tab you the user have an idea, experience (negative, mixed or, positive), or issue. It will default to the section you are in but if you want you can select another tab of feedback.
The customize menus are heavily custom to the tab you’re in and I try not to intertwine things and try to keep them clean and organized.
They have expandable accordian sections for cleanliness with icons for better visibility.
-
Settings
Settings you will have the same look as customize but will be able to do more serious things like deleting accounts, viewing list of blocked people, pending reports, etc.
It will also have a feedback section at the bottom.
Here will be app themes such as default (dark blue), light mode, dark mode. I plan on adding a fun “eco” mode that makes everything fruitger aero theme, this will be future though. Also i plan on adding other things like dark red background, green, yellow, etc.
Also I currently have accent colors, which can be customizable. For example if you are on the feed tab in home it has a small blue dot, this will be able to be changed to green or other colors, same with bottom nav icons, home could be highlighted green or blue depending on what you want.
Settings will have to be very organized compared to other apps because this is also a place where people can get stressed out due to important things happening here being mixed up.
-
Monetization
This is a soft spot for alot of people, it can make the user annoyed but also make the app unscalable.
I plan on monetizing on ads with an ad being show AT MAXIMUM 1 out of every 10 videos and minimum 1 out of every 16 videos. I will have that permanently marked somewhere. It’s disgusting what TikTok has done with its app in terms of ads and I fully plan on not having 1/4 of feed being ads. I plan on potentially having a paid no ad option most likely a one time purchase.
Speaking of one time purchase, certain themes and
Convenient customization may be behind a one time purchase for the user.
Advanced themes like photo background or certain colors may be behind a one time permanent app wide purchase. This would be one payment and be applied app wide. This most likely would be after a beta, and every beta user would have access to these things as a privilege for using the app. I also may make it a beta feedback reward instead.
Convenient customization behind a paywall would be something like adding more presets as far as I can think and this would be grouped with the themes people can choose.
I never want people to be at a genuine disadvantage because of money, as well as slowly being drained of money for eternity via subscription.
Future store feature is also something else. Like tiktok shop, there would be a store feature. This would be entirely optional for the user and if completely suppressed by user entirely, would only show up in the aforementioned 1/10- 1/16 feed ads. The app would take around 10% of all transactions probably no more than 15%
Physically, the store would most likely reside in the explore page having its own tab.
People would have a store profile in the store tab and could operate an account entirely doing that and it wouldn’t get mixed with normal everyday content.
Lastly as far as I can think right now, I plan on adding a tip system in comments and messages. The app at first would take 30% but as scale goes up would be lowered to 10% of all transactions due to other opportunities in ads and one time purchase.
To be fully self sustaining, realistically, all of these things would happen. I’m very rooted in morals, I think it’s disgusting heavily exploiting people for money, again I hate subscription models and think they somewhat exploit people alot. They could be done in moderation for a few dollars but paying 30 dollars for something that costs probably 5 to operate is ludicrous.
-
Overall
I know everything may be all over the place, I have been busy and the reddit interface is not the best on mobile, so I have been detailed in some areas and quick in others, but I hope you have received the gist of everything.
—
This app is being made to show that modern social media can cater to the user but decides not to for absolute monetary gain. Something as simple as deleting your account becomes impossible because of overlook from the giants, but I see their mistakes and plan to use that entirely to my benefit. I know almost nothing about coding, when I scale up enough to Alpha versions soon, I will need a developer that can entirely fit my needs to replace ai. Right now I would say 45% of the features I have mentioned are in unpolished/completed stages, the other 55% are in planning. This app will need help to make it possible but I am willing to put myself out there to ask for advice and potential recruitment. It wouldn’t be money for a build but it would be freelance work or a stake of the company.
Also speaking of company, I have name and logo for this already done, as well as a domain. I fully plan for this to work. Let me know your thoughts.

Blue Checkmark Coding Agents, Simulated DoorDash Orders, and a Cyberpunk Wizard of Oz
Hey Community,
We explore Grok Build, the new terminal-based TUI coding agent from x.ai. We also look at Appless, an experiment from the creators of OpenUI that bypasses chat bubbles to stream live native UI components using openui-lang.
Finally, we dive into Maestro MCP, a new tool context protocol server that lets AI agents automatically build and run YAML test flows from plain English instructions.
If the Rewind made you nod, smile, or think "oh… that's actually cool" — a share or reply genuinely helps ❤️

How many testers should I have?
Hi everyone, I have been working on an entertainment based app for a considerable amount of time now to the point I am happy to try and push it out a bit. My question is however: How many testers should I have and who should I choose. I want this group of testers to be able to interact with each other, and I am planning for this testing period to be around 2 weeks then shut it down, and see what bugs/problems need to be fixed. I am very happy to be at this point, but also a bit nervous and stressed. For those who have done something like this, please give me a hand a lend some advice. Thanks!
