I run the disc golf course at Apex Nature Park 3 to 4 times a week, combining trail running and disc golf into one workout. I’ve been doing this for a couple of years and have never seen anyone else running the course the same way, so I figured I’d see if anyone else is interested in joining me for a weekly “disc run.”

I keep it casual: one disc, quick throws, mostly just enjoying the trail and the movement. I’m not competitive or keeping strict score. If you’re into trail running and disc golf and want a relaxed, active hang, come join me!

Flexible on day and time, just let me know what works for you. Beginners to experienced runners welcome as long as you’re cool with a jogging pace between baskets.

You are invited to participate in a research study conducted through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The purpose of this study is to better understand arts participation, social connection, and community engagement among adults ages 25–40 in the Triangle area.

Participation involves completing a brief online survey that takes approximately 7–10 minutes. At the end of the survey, participants may voluntarily indicate their interest in a follow-up interview. Participation is completely voluntary.

Participants who complete the survey may voluntarily provide their contact information to be entered into a chance drawing for one of five $50 gift cards. Entry into the drawing is optional and is not required to participate in the study.

To be eligible, you must:

• Be between the ages of 25 and 40
• Live, work, or regularly spend time in the Triangle area

For those who go to OneLife Fitness in Beaver Creek, how are the crowds and equipment currently? I go after work at 5pm. I honestly don’t mind a crowd as long as it’s not huge wait lines for lifting equipment. Is the membership a one year contract too? I read the thread posted when it opened, but want to know what it is like now.

I hope the link works. Lufkin Road Middle had a massive drop in its 2025 state report card, dropping from a 74 to 63...which is a "C" on their scale. Their performance in Math and Science was well below the Wake County average performance, and the reading was barely average. Maybe even worse than their performance scores, they did not meet expectations for Academic Growth, dropping from a score of 93 (exceeded) to 67 (Not Met). So, current scores are poor and their growth is not meeting expectations...not a successful combination.

I know there are fluctuations in scores from year to year, but this is a very big shift, and a shift that was not reflected on report cards for other local schools.

This seems like a real issue that should be addressed, what say you?

Hey everyone! Curious to know if anyone is a part of a Romantasy book club? Currently on the last book of the fourth wing series and would love to connect with others who are into this genre!

I’ve been taking my two sons to the rink just about every other day for the past month or so. We absolutely love the complex, but, I’m baffled at why there isn’t a roof. I emailed the mayor of Apex and a few other individuals in the parks and recs division and asked what it would take to get a roof over the rinks. I took my flir out there today, the benches were 176° and the playing surface was 131°. Having a roof, lights and a couple “big ass fans” would be so awesome out there. I don’t expect anyone from the town will respond to my email, any ideas on how to make this happen?

We recently moved into a townhouse in Apex on June 1. The same day, our utilities were turned on.
Oddly, we haven’t received any sort of bill or communication from Apex Utilities. Nothing in the mail and nothing in the portal. I’ve also reached out with no response. I basically audited their website to find any FAQs addressing new residents billing, but I couldn’t find anything that.

Has anyone else had this issue after activating services? I’ve set up my account properly, and I worry about getting slammed with a 2-month bill at once and a late fee for not receiving a bill….

Any insights would be appreciated!
