discussion AIC has best 4 track run ever?
New to the sub so maybe this has been discussed before. But to me AIC has potentially the two best 4 track runs of all time kicking off Dirt and JoF. Which do we think is better?
Them Bones -> Dam That River -> Rain When I Die -> Down in a Hole
Rotten Apple -> Nutshell -> I Stay Away -> No Excuses

pictures Taylor xxv-dr guitar played by Jerry Cantrell
So I have this Taylor XXV-DR 25th anniversary guitar signed by Robert Taylor that Jerry actually played in a cameo role in a movie called Rock Slyde. (Video below) Does anyone know what it might be worth? https://youtu.be/W6f2WuHe0V8?is=TsJpzefJvBonjRH6

other Mike inezâs work in slashes snakepit
one of my favorite Mike inez (and all time bass solos) is his solo in slashes snakepit good to be alive. i cannot figure out how to play it on my bass for the life of me, does anyone here know how to play the solo on bass? theres a version on songsterr but its like a ai version that cost money to see aiâs way of playing it, so naturally i decided to come here and r/GunsNRoses to ask. thank you in advanceđ€

i made this Layne Staley pencil drawing from the video to âWould?â
Pencil sketch of Layneâs iconic scream in the music video from the last chorus of âWould?â Then superimposed onto the âDirtâ album cover with lyrics in the AIC font. A pic I drew/made back in 2022.

Layne Layne and his voice towards the end of his life
Sometimes I doom scroll on AiC and I think about how powerful his voice was and I think about his pictures toward the end of his life and how small and frail he looked and I can't believe that voice came out of him. Makes me sad.

discussion Can anyone listen to Nutshell without questioning everything and sobbing?
Iâm out here doing yard work and get an itch for nutshell. I canât help but stand here and question existence. Time speeds through my head watching the leaves go through the stages like a flip book. I see myself growing older as I continue to take care of my yard, my wife and my boys. Then I push past that to beyond me and what would become of everyone and everything.
The beat, their voices, the words⊠I believe that if this song doesnât induce any emotions, you canât be human.

Layne The epitome of a soul Layne completely bare đ©”
My gawd, this is absolutely AMAZING!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J_Vqs2KsIgc
His isolated voice sent full-on goosebumps that started at my hair follicles and radiated throughout my entire body, awakening different areas depending on the lyrics! Like so many others, his voice cracks open my soul, and I dearly miss his authenticity, his smile, and his quirky sense of humor.
He willingly bled his raw essence for the whole world to hear, and he did so without an ounce of pretention or hesitation. I hope he is somehow aware just how much we all still love him, and just how deeply his voice and AIC in general continue to be woven into the very fabric of the soundtrack of our lives. The void his absence leaves is profound and will never be filled by another. There will never, ever be another Layne Staley! đ

question Whatâs your favorite AIC Passage/Section?
Whatâs your favorite passage / section from an AIC song? It doesnât necessarily have to be from your favorite song overall.
For example, Iâm torn between Them Bones and God Am for best overall, but hands down my favorite section is the bridge of Sickman (those harmonies!!).
What do you think?

discussion Just heard the studio version of Over Now
Omg Iâm just stunned. Iâm so used to hearing the Unplugged version since that was the only version I had heard. Alice in Chains can make the same song have such unique vibes from each other when theyâre in the studio compared to when theyâre doing it unplugged. Iâve always been more of an unplugged lover but I think the studio version is really winning me over. So glad I found this band đ„

discussion Alice in Chains is one of the greatest bands ever
Last night it was finally storming and raining after two weeks of suffocating heat and I put some Alice In Chains while looking at the sky (Sap ep and some songs from Jar of flies) and oh my goddd I got so moved ! First this is a band that really was a big part of my teenagehood but the strength of the vocals and instruments stays the same ! I think that seeing them live would be a life changing experience and Iâm looking forward to, even if ofc Iâm a Layne enthusiast..!

question Anyone got the video for "Got me wrong" Live in 1993?
so basically, a few weeks ago i randomly had a video on my youtube pop up, it was of aic playing got me wrong live, before unplugged. i cant remember the exact date, but im guessing its 1993 because layne had blonde hair and was wearing a black leather jacket. the set was an open stage at daytime, they played the acoustic parts with an electric guitar. i cannot find this video now, in fact i cannot find a single video of them playing got me wrong live before unplugged, but from looking at old setlists, they definitely played it. am I going crazy? does anyone have a video of them playing the song in the early 90's?

question Does anybody know what version of âI stay awayâ this is?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I was scrolling on reels, and saw this video and I was thinking âhmmm, this sounds differentâ. I might be schizo but I swear you can hear more of the acoustic guitar and Jerryâs voice. Is this the regular version or is it something else?

discussion Off the Rails as a AIC single record
This could have been a perfect single for Alice, which coupled with the fact that Jerry has released multiple solo albums since Rainier Fog, makes me feel like another Alice in Chains record is not necessarily unlikely, but highly in doubt, for me
What are y'all thinking?

discussion The Filler Track On Facelift (1990)
In Your Opinion, Which Track On Facelift Is More On The 'Filler Side'
In My Opinion, I Will Go With Either I Can't Remember Or Put You Down, What Do You Guys Think?
