Landlord got us a "new" A/C and wondering if anyone can help identify even the decade it is from

I am in a small townhouse. About 800sq feet. I'm the only heat producing body in the unit. I am in Texas and the heat is 100 degrees this week but my ac has been struggling for over a month now. The maintenance guy comes out and checks the temp of the vents and the air inside is about 50 degrees but only half of the vents feel like they're pushing air out. I want 75 degrees. Ive put the system to 75, 74, 73, even 65 on different days and same result. By 3pm it's 79 degrees and doesn't go down until maybe 10 at night where it will be 77 degrees until a little after 1am where it starts to cool. 3am to 6am it will reach the temp then immediately start climbing up. My neighbors with families said they get 74 in the day. I keep asking them to call in a professional to figure out the issue. They say there is no issue that it's just too hot. I feel like that argument is moot by the fact that after midnight it's still 77 degrees inside. I don't know a thing about a.c.s but I feel like I'm being gaslit. Please give advice. Thank you

Was looking at the little 6000 btu ones on sale at Walmart and was curious if I put one in my garage if it would be worth it just for when I'm working out there in the summer

My renter neighbors got a part replaced in the ac unit and ever since my house is vibrating and making a dull sound every time it clicks on. I have talked to them about getting it fixed but wondering if that is even possible since it’s so close to the property line. Isn’t the ac unit supposed to be 3 feet from the property line? My driveway is on the other side of the teal wall and my house is about 8 feet away from this block fence.

I purchased a used unit off FB, it didnt come with a remote. All the manuals say I need to press display on the remote to put it in paring mode. Is there a way to do it without the remote?

With my relatively new solar setup I plan on upgrading the cooling/heating in my house, which currently has no AC (which is really only needed maybe 2-3 weeks out of the year in Custer, SD BUT we need HEAT at least 3 months out of the year) and I heat primarily with wood but we have baseboard heat and my wife cannot control herself not to use it.

I've been holding off buying mini splits and/or a portable AC/heat unit because of recent model releases such as pre-vacuumed mini splits, and portable mini splits, and hopefully the market jumping on these 2 bandwagons.

You think your crystal balls will predict cheaper prices and more manufacturers jumping on the pre-vacuumed and portable mini split bandwagon by Fall? Is it possible the aftermarket will make hoses to convert conventional mini splits into portable ones?

Will portable dual-hose AC/heat units come down in price and/or approach mini split efficiency?

While I'll still heat primarily with wood, it would be nice to laze-out some days and simply turn on the mini-split and/or portable AC as my solar generation should be able to support it. I plan on buying 2 units with at least one unit being portable.

Im in Europe, we rent and can’t get proper AC but the heatwave is killing us. They are double barn style doors, very beautiful, wow amazing, but .. not good for portable AC. The photo is taken on 0.5x, so they’re taller than they look.

Been having this issue with my main AC unit at home. This sound only seems to happen early in the morning when the unit has been on for a while throughout the night. Unfortunately the unit is right outside my bedroom so it’ll wake me up when it starts happening. I had one tech come out to look at it and he had no idea what could be causing the sound. He ended up replacing a dead capacitor and told me to call if it happens again. Which it did last night but he didn’t seem to confident in being able to identify the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I purchased the GE AWCS08WWB 8000 btu AC unit at the end of last summer and opened it up to use it in my bedroom this June. My bedroom is relatively small and I find that the unit doesnt get my room as cold as id like. I tend to wake up in the morning and my room doesnt feel cold at all, borderline cool.

I clean the filter as often as the manual instructed and I also check that the coils aren't freezing (they are not).

Im not sure if the unit is faulty or maybe im expecting more than what the unite is capable of. Any recommendations or advice on what I could do to improve the unit, would grisly be appreciated.

Hello! Got a question, I am about to move into a new apartment soon and currently need to decide do I need another AC installed so my office/gaming room can be cooled.

Rn there is one unit in the living room (1) and there is one pre drilled hole in the bedroom (2). Which leds me to 3 options:

1. The main AC will be enough 2. Add the 2nd ac in bedroom with easier installation since the hole is predrilled (Could be a problem if gf wants to sleep while I work in the office, needing to shut off the AC or close the doors. 3. If both previous options are not enough then opt for drilling a hole in the office for the 2nd Ac there which would solve the problem but require more work

Apt is 63m2, east west oriented, in Serbia so summers can get hot up to 40c and the PC gets pretty hot while gaming.

I just bought a house with a little connected unit. The previous owner installed a AC into the wall with what I believe is called a through the wall sleeve.

When you run it it runs super inefficient, looking on the back the whole unit was in a sleeve with a metal backing so literally no way to vent and it was super hot.

I’m a new homeowner, and this unit is a bit of a DIY feel to it. But help me - you’re supposed to remove the back plate (says “REAR” in pics) so it can actually work right? Then put it back when it’s out of service to protect it?

I took the rear plate off and now the unit works perfectly. But feels weird to have it exposed?

What am I missing here?

[Backstory: I had this same unit and only used it for cooling. I didn't realize I needed to drain it and mold built up. We got rid of it since it was pretty bad and couldn't clean it. We bought a new one and my question is re: the new unit]

I have a Gasbye Dual Hose Portable unit (CoolPrime 10000) and only use it for Cooling and our humidity hovers around 50% in the summer. I want to prevent mold so I'd love to know your thoughts on how to best do this.

Currently I have the continuous draining hose attached that drains into a bucket, but I don't know if I should be doing this (the instructions don't mention to do it, but does mention there will likely be extra condensation that is not evaporated in the dual hose unit).

After running the AC I run the fan for about 1 hour.

I don't know if having the draining hose attached is causing more water to build up in the bottom of the unit or if I should drain the bottom drainage plug as well.

I don't know if I'm making things worse by running it this way, since the unit is not evaporating the condensation when I have the drainage hose attached.

What is the correct way to using this unit and caring for it so mold doesn't build up?

I've been using this ac for 1-2 weeks. I wanted to move it somewhere higher but since makes a knock sound and shakes a bit when compressor shuts off. I thought the wheels under it eventually would make it fall. So I removed them but I tilted the machine 90 degrees while doing it so.

Process took like 10 minutes at max. Then I realized water was flooding somewhere.. so I asked few people. they told me that "its fine its just the drainage water moving up because I tilted the machine and I have to wait 1-2 hours"

so I did. Then I started the machine and started listening the compressor. I've never did that before because who does.. that's why I don't know if its normal for it to sound like this or i've messed something up.

the cooling is fine so idk.

Iv searched page after page but almost every unit I find that says its dual hose has showcases showing it isn't, has horrible reviews, or is 8-1200 dollars. I don't need anything massive I just need something that wont break in the span of 2 years, can run continuously, dehumidifies, and works for my bedroom. preferably with a shorter/adjustable window hose mount so I don't have to worry about cutting or tapping stuff to make it fit.

So far the only option I did manage to find was a TCL rapidcomfort sold only by bestbuy [T10PQ5SD model number] however iv been informed TCL is horrible. So any assistance with finding something would be appreciated.
