Hi everyone. I wanted to post an update about my situation.
Unfortunately, the filler I had placed in my nose wasn’t enough. It also migrated toward the sides of my nose, while the indentation itself is still there. The scar is only 47 days old, so I’m trying not to panic or rush into anything, but mentally I’m really struggling. I cry a lot and I can barely bring myself to go outside.
The area has also developed post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I’m trying to reassure myself that this is a normal part of the healing process, especially since I rarely go outside and, when I do, I always wear sunscreen.
I’ve spoken with several doctors in my country, and every single one of them has told me to wait at least another six months. I honestly don’t know how I’m supposed to be patient. There is still a very noticeable indentation. The good news is that the donut-shaped swelling around it has finally gone down, but the center is still depressed, which makes me worry that it’s becoming atrophic.
One thing I found interesting is that about 10–15 days ago, when I pressed on the area, it felt like there was only a very thin layer of tissue over it. Now it actually feels thicker, so I’m hoping that means some healing is still taking place.
In another 2–3 months, once the sun is less intense, I’m planning to find a highly experienced doctor and try fractional laser treatment. Several doctors mentioned that it’s one of the treatment options. One of them told me that if it’s going to help, I should start seeing results by the second or third session. If there’s no improvement by then, there’s probably no point in continuing, and it would make more sense to start considering surgical options instead. I think it’s worth giving the laser a chance before moving on to anything more invasive.
That’s where I am right now. I don’t really know what else to do. I guess all I can do is wait and hope that time helps.
Is there anything you would recommend for me during this process?
