Did I make a mistake by leaving my job?

I know Abraham says that is your own perception that is reflecting at you, but then again there are actual toxic workplaces.

I left mine because it was getting too much to handle. And my gut kept telling me that I only have one life

Seeking Advice on How to Approach Lack of Purpose and Anxiety Around it

Hi, everyone!
I would really appreciate some tips and suggestions on how to better orientate myself.
I've experienced severe lack of a sense of purpose for many years and from time to time I end up in a dark place where I can't help but feel like I've wasted (and I keep wasting) my life entirely.

When it happens, I feel a tremendous sentiment of urgency and anxiety to do something, but even though I have a vague sense of what I would like to do, not knowing what exactly to do and how to go about starting to do it, makes me feel paralyzed and even worse than before.

I understand and deeply feel how this creates intense resistence, but I find myself thinking that since things haven't changed all these years up to now, there's no point in expecting or hoping for something different to happen just by trying to drop resistance, avoid efforting and focusing on feeling a little better whenever I recognize I'm not feeling good.

So I guess in a way I'm afraid to pause, relax and focus on feeling better; I'm afraid to let go because I'm scared it might not only not help me change my life, but it will make it worse by leading me to waste even more time.
I hope what I wrote makes some sense to you, and maybe someone here even experienced something similar in the past. I would really appreciate some guiding words that may sort of help me.

In any case, I wish you all a lovely day or night!

Perpetual Worry/identity crisis

I am thinking there must be people out there who relate, and I’d love to hear from anyone who has found a helpful tool to change this thinking.

Internally I’m optimistic and am a dreamer, but my mind fights against me.

I think I’ve been stuck in a state of disallowing joy and peace for myself for decades, lying to myself and convincing myself it was protecting me, or that I’ve been being “responsible”.

For instance, saving money instead of allowing joyful experiences that cost money once I already had enough saved. Or, being stuck in a constant rumination (I do mean near-constant,) like there’s a little person on my shoulder telling myself I’m running out of time, asking me questions like, “who are you? Why aren’t you further? Are you spending your time wisely? What do you want? Are you being selfish? What job are you supposed to have? Where should you live?”

Also, in instances, doing the “wiser/smarter” thing in an effort to “create safety”, such as rather than spending the extra money to live alone, convincing myself it’s better to get a roommate so that I can allocate those funds to “being happy”, traveling, living elsewhere etc.

I’ve been doing it for so long, and I don’t know where I got that mode from, that I have a really hard time getting out of it. I’ve done remarkable things in my life and had a lot of experiences but still beat myself up on a daily basis with worry and judgement and fear, and even did so during these remarkable experiences. How does one stop this? What’s up with this?

I also don’t fit the 9-5p life, and I know I’m a creative person who thrives having new experiences. However, if you ask me what I want to do for a living, I can’t exactly tell you. I feel like even if I did know, I suffer from pretty intense ADHD and several autoimmune/physical pain disorders, and have a lack of follow through, so it makes me feel caught in an endless loop.

I do believe in thought processes and meditations and manifestations and occasionally am able to temporarily tap into a higher vibe, attracting things. I believe it’s when I let go of control, which is what we are taught exactly not to do. So, my mind goes back to that mode of operating.

I thought I’d reach out and see if anyone feels inspired to respond, thank you!

feeling disconnected and lost

hi everyone. (delete if not appropriate) Basically i'm feeling extremely stuck and lost in life. I used to be a huge believer in LOA and Abraham's teachings but this past year none of the processes have worked from me. i feel disconnected from the universe and can't hold a positive thought to save my life. Pessimism and doubt are at an all time high. meditation attempts lead to intense rapid disturbing images in my head. i wake up tired and am tired all day so its hard to start off on the right foot. the point of this is not to complain but to ask for advice and stories from those who have maybe experienced this and have come out the other side. i think i've suffered so many disappointments that my hope is gone? my life is good - better than 95% of the population i'm sure. and yet i can't seem to feel happy? can't get my chest to not feel tight with anxiety. i have nightmares every night also. i clench my teeth and hands so hard while sleeping i wake up with pain. what would you suggest i do? feeling like a ghost disconnected from life

Eckhart Tolle was in the vortex on a park bench homeless for years - why?

This is probably my biggest spiritual question. If tolle has no resistance, why didn't he manifest miracles constantly in terms of massive abundance.

You could say he didn't want it, but he said he went in job interviews but got passed up because they could see his heart wasn't in it.

What gives?

Exercise seems to make me more positive... Does that count?

I'd like to think it's because I'm taking control and being proactive but the truth is it feels like a drug. If I exercise, I get good brain chemicals, and things seem better. Is this somehow bypassing learning how to think positively?

Should we have a daily or weekly appreciation thread sticky?

Hi guys,

I'm suggesting a daily or weekly appreciation thread sticky.

As an example, the Neville Goddard subreddit has a Community Highlights section where they have weekly FAQ threads, success stories threads.

Maybe we can do the same.

I think a lot of folks could benefit from having a place to express and practice appreciation.

Talking to my friend about my problems feels great, there has to be another way 🙃

So Abraham says very emphatically in the tapes: don't vent!

But they also say: trust that if it felt better, it was better!

And telling my close friend about my problems feels better! So there has to be a nunace to this, I think, maybe I should complain about what I want when I talk about my problems, instead of listing all the negatives, so, for instance, saying: I wish I got a better job, I wish I got along with this person, I wish I had people around I got along with! Instead of: my job sucks my friend sucks people around me suck- if you get what I mean.

How do you guys do it?

It just feels inauthentic, not telling her about my problems, and when it comes to talking about lovely things, unfortunately most people don't really care about if the plant in front of my house was lovely, if I really want to visit this place by the sea which is gorgeous, or if my cat is a cutie.

Still manifesting an Abraham friend I can tell: hey, let's purposefully talk about things we like for a while! 😄 Until that day, I have a bunch of people I love surrounding me, how do you guys talk to your loved ones who aren't LOA people? How do you talk, in general? Do you worry about the words you say, because I do, and I know I gotta ease up on that but I also want the way I talk to benefit me and everyone...

notes from my first live abraham event yesterday

7 years ago (to the month!) a series of fun unexplainable timings and synchronicities led me to telling a cashier at a store in LA, “these good things just keep happening to me.” and she said, “that’s funny my roommate is going thru the same thing and she’s been reading a book called ask & it is given.”

i had never heard of it, never heard of abe, never even watched the secret. i had no idea what manifesting even was at the time (i was 33). but my interest was so piqued that i bought the audiobook and started listening in the car.

the message of following my heart, allowing myself to do what made me happy, understanding who o really am, and shifting my thoughts to align with myself resonated INSTANTLY. my perspective on life changed, and so did everything else…

years of daily anxiety and panic attacks disappeared within a few days of adopting this approach. since then i’ve manifested countless awesome things… closer friendships, complete freedom to live the way i want, a change in career doing the most fun thing i could ever see myself doing, financial security, a house, a car just being given to me, endless synchronicities, and most importantly, super consistent and regular happiness and peace and enjoyment of life.

i have such a love and appreciation for esther and the work she and abraham does for this world and how she’s inspired me to help others with a similar message. so when i got the impulse a couple months ago to see if she still travels for shows and saw that she was gonna be in my home state, i immediately bought a ticket.

here are the notes i took from the insight shared…

—you’re always manifesting things that can help you even if you don’t realize it. sometimes it’s something that you don’t want but brings CLARITY on what you do want. sometimes it brings something to your attention that you want to change so that you consciously do that.

—there’s no way to avoid all negative emotions and not a single human on the planet doesn’t feel bad sometimes bc that’s the essence of what we’re here to do (evaluate what we like/don’t like and create based on that). but don’t let it dominate. lots of times ppl have a chronic negative emotion/mood (feel unseen, unappreciated, overwhelmed, blamed and criticized), and you want to change that and have the ability to do it.

—any emotion/state (even a positive one) gets boring when stayed in too long (this was interesting to me and points to how its natural to want variety and how there’s value in getting bumped by things in life so we can experience the pleasure of re-entering a good emotional state… it goes back to the idea that negative emotions are an important part of the process too)

—satisfaction only comes from moving towards what you want (classic abe)

—what bothers you the most is that you’re bothered (meaning, not the thing/ppl you think you’re bothered by but the fact that you’re not in line with your heart that’s most bothering you)

—defending why you don’t feel good keeps you not feeling good even more. (they kept pointing out that we’re “not wrong” to feel bad about what we feel bad about… we’re justified… BUT harping on the reasons isn’t helping us)

—“take it easy on your way to happy”

—if you want positive momentum on something, pay attention and catch yourself when you dip in thought (into negative territory)

—when describing the EMOTION of something (like a relationship you want), don’t just use words like “it feels loving, joyful, etc”… use descriptive language with emotional energy like “i’m on my way home and excited to walk in the door and feel the warmth of cuddling with the love of my life”

—instead of focusing on PHYSICAL OUTCOMES focus on EMOTIONAL OUTCOMES you want. “there’s no resistance to positive EMOTIONAL outcomes.” (i’ll do a separate post of this sometime to go more in detail bc it was one of my biggest takeaways)

—don’t take action without accomplishing the emotional outcome first.

—emotional stability is the best part of a relationship. what’s stability feel like? walk around your world seeing harmony and stability in things to accomplish that vibration.

—(my biggest takeaway personally was this…) when you feel interested, always go. do it. (again i’ll post a lot more on this one later) …when you feel overwhelmed/fear/worry, don’t go, don’t do it.

—(about not-great things & situations) “it is what it is but it doesn’t have to stay how it is”

—“you’re tired of being out of control but you are not out of control. your point of attraction is within your control.”

—“just BE it and let law of attraction manage the rest.”

—don’t plan so much that it tangles you in resistance. accomplish the emotional state you want and let the universe arrange the plans.

—“when you know that everything is working out for you [if you can carry that mentality], then you’re cued for what you’re ready for.”

tldr: it was fun lol

Do you want to share lovely things you attracted this past week? 😊 I'll start!

-i saw the female fox who lives close to here, I always give her water at nights and she didn't run away from me very far, maybe she knew and was waiting! It was very dark, but I could see her lovely white tip of her tail 😊

-two very nice men immediately offered to drive me to the nearest other town when I missed my bus, they literally showed up within a minute of me being sad that the bus had left right in front of my eyes without me being able to do anything! The men were friends of a neighbour, and they even made sure they dropped me off at a stop where people were around so it looked safe! They were friendly and apologetic that their car was messy, it was very nice and endearing interaction. I didn't even feel much social anxiety at all!

-i asked for cooler wind a couple of times and got gusts of cooler wind several times!

-theres a plant, I don't know how to call it, in my front yard, looks similar to bamboo, it's so beautiful! The birds sit on it.

-my cat was a bit under the weather but he's fine again! I used to have cats that didn't live long, to this one I always tell that he's healthy, gorgeous, the best cat in the world and the smartest (i exaggerate as much as possible because it's fun), and every single time something little is up with him he very quickly recovers, now he's completely fine, going about his business to take a long nap! 😊

-went to see the waterfront a couple of times, that was cool!

-got creative ideas

-cool melon 🍈 😄

-my friends contacted me a lot! I felt loved and special 😄

-someone amazing shared their experience and notes from an Abraham workshop (check out the subs recent posts, it was sooo inspiring!)

I'll leave it here for now! Do you want to share any? 🌟

How liberating it feels to let go of bad throughs

How liberating it feels to go like, when getting a painful thought that doesn't need to be here now, to go like: nope, and place attention elsewhere! It's instant relief!

Is that’s just a coincidence?

Over the last three weeks, I’ve been visualizing my owing a Porsche 911 and a specific number plate. Then, this Sunday, while I was out randomly, I came across a Porsche 911 GTS with the exact same number plate, suffixed with a number near and dear to me, I had been visualizing from a different city.

What could this potentially mean? If this is a sign from the Universe, how can I best align with it and make the most of it?

Close to manifestation and getting back on track

I manifested the provider I wanted but hé left instead of providing. It is for sure feeling of insecurity. How to get back on track after being discouraged? I was very closed of doing it. But it did not felt good. I felt dominated. I feel unseen most of the time due to colors or beauty. I feel behind also about life anxious and chill when I'm in my space and feel accepted with people I love but pick on anxiety of those angry who are close to me. I'm a very intuitive person I start following fun inspiring action and leaving responsible feeling.... Would love people to join on the chat and rampage

How do you deal with partners you love that doesnt manifest and is negative?

I have been extremely successful with manifesting for 10 years. Yes, some of the things i wanted took that long to come into my vortex, but i saw the plan and the time it took and it always works out. But i deal with a negative partner who doesn’t seem to understand that his energy is very hard to deal with, with I am so positive. we had some major moments lately that there was no question that it worked and he did admit that it was crazy and so happy it turned out for us and our future. He got his retirement the way he wanted, the house on the ocean, money…all things he said would never happened as i cried and did my best to stay positive and made happen. now that he has it all according to my manifesting for us both, i want things too that he doesn’t. he wants to stop trying or moving, but I want to keep going with change. i want a house in the woods, always my dream, and to make him happy, it can be on the ocean too or near water. but he doesn’t want to budge. he has what he wanted. i want to be clear that whenever an opportunity came that advanced our dream, I had to push him kicking and screaming. I know not the best idea, but those things ended up making his dreams come true. now i am tired and wanting what i want. I know i have to do it alone, which i can! and I have! but how does everyone deal with a partner who is negative but enjoys the rewards of good manifesting.

How to finally integrate rejection?

So, one big thing that I still struggle with- and it's basically my whole "trauma" backbone of my life.

I've been always EXTREMELY self aware, self analytical and introspective. Since I was incredibly small I knew that I was different.

I don't want to infuse too much low vibe stuff but I need for context. Be careful.

Growing up gay has been hell for me. I don't want to beat the drum of the old story, but you get the idea: why whole life has been somewhat linked to shame. And I even had long years of bullying.

This and just a bit of a narcissist mother that gave me an inner critic stronger than steel.

Mind you, I'm a wealthy and lucky person. And only now thanks to Abraham and my spiritual work I truly value that.

I still have social anxiety and the constant sensations that others want to bully me or that are actively trying to get hostile. Which is absolutely untrue, I manifested amazing colleagues thanks to metta meditations and robotic affirmations+ feeling good. It's truly amazing. BUT (I know that Abraham always hates the but BUT :)) my body doesn't register it.

I'm so proud that I'm slowly catching and distancing myself from these thoughts and little by little trying to replace them with more favorable imaginary scenarios and feelings.

What are some tips that you have found helpful? Have you ever felt or resolved something akin to that?
