Discussion They are saying the Z Fold 8 will be $0 with eligible device trade in at AT&T. I wonder what devices will be considered eligible.

Has anyone else been having connectivity issues? WiFi going in and out? Frequent outages?

I’m in west Texas if that helps.

This "altafiber" website ended up leading me to an ATT preferred dealer? I did not realize until it was too late and gave them DOB and SS for a credit check but all my credit is frozen luckily. Wanted to know if anyone here knew anything about this. Thank you!

Wireless Unlocking phone on Next up ANYTIME

Hi folks,

Considering getting the Fold 8 Ultra, but I might need to unlock the phone at some point during the year.

I generally upgrade my phone via Samsung each year, but I'm considering the Next Up Anytime option. If I pay to unlock the device (I know it's a chunk of money), what happens when I trade it in after 12 months?

Other Trade in boxes?

So we recently switched from T-Mobile, activated in 7/13. I got an email saying our trade in boxes would arrive separately. Today is business day number 7 and I still have not gotten a shipping notification of our trade in boxes. Now I know I technically have until the 12th to return our devices. Should I continue waiting? Or is it okay to reach out? I'm not trying to be an annoying customer this early on 😅.

Wireless iPhone on AT&T Getting Delayed Notifications

My iPhone 16 on iOS 18.7.8 using AT&T just recently suddenly started getting very delayed notifications from all of my apps. If someone were to send me a text for example, the notification sometimes wouldn't appear on my phone until several minutes later or it wouldn't show up at all. If the notifications do eventually pop up, the time stamp would say something like "7m ago" instead of "now." The texts also wont even show up if I open the text chats until several minutes after they've been sent. This happens on both WiFi and cellular and also happens when the phone is off and when I'm actively using it. This is not happening all the time, but every day the last week plus for a few hours this happens.

I've tried restarting my phone several times as well as playing around with every setting I can think of to try and fix it to no avail.

I figured at first this was a bug on Apples part, but after doing some research, I noticed a lot of people with this same issue in the past are AT&T customers and have been able to fix the problem by switching providers entirely. This makes me think that this problem is at least partially on AT&T's part rather than an iOS bug through and through. I'll also note that while I am aware that I'm not on the newest iOS, others have reported the same problem on the newest iOS as well.

I would like to avoid going through the pain of switching providers, so I'm coming on here to see if others are experiencing anything similar and to gain any insight as to whats causing this and possible ways to fix it.

Billing How to get out of my office@hand contract

TLDR: how can I find an ATT business manager in person in the USA to talk with directly and shut down my account?

I’m at a total loss and don’t know where to turn. I tried using AT&T business office@hand phones for my office building, and it’s been a total nightmare. Tech support issues and all, it just isn’t the right fit for us. I switched back to Comcast and a local VOIP company, and now I’m tryin to get out of my contract. Every time I call the billing and account support phone numbers that are on my statement, I keep getting rerouted and stonewalled. I don’t use the service anymore and our budget can’t afford it. I’m so fed up with this company that I’ll never use ATT again.

Wireless Voice Messages from entire week only arrive on Saturday!

As the title says. Last Sat I woke up and checked my Galaxy S20 5G Ultra phone , it said I have voicemails. Checked voicemails - 15 new ones. They were all from various days earlier in the week. They hadn't showed up before! The only other odd symptom is that only the phone number was read, not the name, from voice messages from friends.

This has happened only for the last 2 weeks.

What's this all about?

Other How to block numbers

I'm a caregiver and the woman I care for has been getting phonecalls all night. Literally every few seconds after hanging up.

Its a landline phone/home phone, not sure what to call it. It shows up as an unknown caller with no number to be seen. The man on the other end sounds like he's saying inappropriate things.

I want to block this number, but the website isn't detailed in the steps to do so. It just says *60, do I hang up first? Pick up then do it? I just want this number blocked so my client can get some sleep.

Just give me the steps, she's 89 and I don't want her worrying about buying a new phone, changing her number, or upgrading her plan. Thank you for any advice you can give.

Internet Internet air connection problem

For some reason, around 3 pm ish yesterday, my device just stopped working. It refused to connect to the internet for the rest of the day; the power LED would be on red while the top 2 bars were blinking amber. I've tried resetting it multiple times, I've tried hard resetting, and I made sure that I restarted the broadband connection. It said that there weren't any outages in my area. I recently got this last week, and it has been working fine so far till today. I'm not really a tech person; any help would be appreciated.

Other Employee trying to take my trade in

So I went to turn in my trade in. I have a S25 and the employee had an S24. He said that he always wanted the S25 and asked me if I would mind if he took my trade in and traded in his S24 for my S25. He said it wouldn't affect my promotional credits at all and he asked me could I come back tomorrow to complete everything. Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't know if that would be okay to do.

Wireless Understanding the difference between blocking spam/fraud calls in the AT&T app vs ActiveArmor app?

Hi all,

Hoping someone with a lot more knowledge than I can help me figure this out. I am finally setting up ActiveArmor in hopes of (maybe) blocking some of the many, many spam calls I get everyday.

I have noticed that there seems to be two ways/mechanisms of blocking spam/fraud calls and activating filtering. One in the AT&T app under Controls>Security and then toggling Fraud/Spam allow/voicemail/block there, and the other being in the ActiveArmor app.

My question is, given that you can set either/all of these and none of them seem to have a bearing on the other, which of these takes precedence and which is the correct way to set it up? Are they the same thing just with a different interface, or are they different levels of blocking? I.e. app vs network?

I am relatively tech savvy but am perplexed as to why these two options to do supposedly the same thing exist. Apologies if this has been asked before, a Google/Reddit search didn't yield a definitive answer.

Thanks!

Other Any experience in selling broken iPhone for credit?

I have a broken 16 iPhone PM that is shattered and won’t turn on. If the any condition trade in returns, it would most likely be worth the top trade in value. It has since been paid off and iCloud lock removed.

I am planning to switch to a different provider come September, has anyone had experience selling a broken iPhone online that someone could use for AT&T trade in credit? If so how much did you charge?

Other AT&T Phone Advanced AP-A question

A bridge across a nearby river is being replaced and three weeks ago someone involved in that cut AT&T's cable there, effecting copper line over a fairly wide area. The technician that came out today said it was still unresolved and won't be for a long time.

I'm not a cell phone user so that's not an option. (I don't make many calls at all, as you might imagine, but do have a doctor and a dentist that need to reach me. I have a t-mobile device for internet.) I'm being pushed toward the AP-A system. I doubt I'd hook it into the house wiring, so my question is: can I daisy-chain devices on the single jack on the ATT device I'd be using (as I did on my copper wire connection)?

Any other issues you can think of that I might need to be aware of?

Thank you.

Wireless Best way to cancel

Ok I have a iPhone 17 pro max with next up anytime and I am wanting to cancel service. I am thinking the best way to do this is trade in my device for cheap device and then pay it off. Can this be done ? If so what would be the best device to buy for this purpose? If this would not work please advise on the best possible solution thanks!

Other No service at my house

I've only ever had at&t. For the last few years, I have had zero service at my house. I would think it is because of my house kinda being surrounded by trees, but my father has always had great service and we are on the same plan. It makes it impossible for me to call, text, or do anything when our wifi is out (which is frequently).

Is there something I need to ask At&t specifically or am I just doing something wrong?

Wireless AT&T Fiber 1G: Clean light levels, 1Gbps down, but 1,500ms+ Upload Bufferbloat. What are my options?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice or insight from anyone who has run into this with AT&T Fiber or has experience with AT&T's ONTs/OLTs.

The Setup:

  • ISP: AT&T Fiber (1Gbps / 1Gbps)
  • Gateway: BGW320 replaced with (two) BGW620
  • Devices Tested: Custom PC (Ethernet), iPhone (Wi-Fi 6)

The Problem: Downloads are completely fine and sustaining ~980–1,050 Mbps with a flat 30–35 ms ping.

However, whenever upload load is introduced (testing via Cloudflare Speed Test, Twitch ingest, or large file pushes), latency immediately collapses.

  • Wired Ethernet: Upload latency spikes to 900 ms – 1,700 ms, and upload throughput dips/fluctuates between 130 Mbps and 500 Mbps.
  • Wi-Fi: Upload latency spikes to 1,900+ ms.

What Has Been Done So Far:

  1. Tech came out and verified optical light levels at the drop and confirmed clean.
  2. Replaced the AT&T Gateway 3 times.
  3. Tested with multiple Cat6 Ethernet cables and directly connected to the BGW gateway ports.

Because this happens across multiple devices, wired and Wi-Fi, and across 3 different physical gateways, it feels like the upload queue in the BGW's IP Passthrough NAT stack is choking, or there's an OLT port profile/queue scheduler issue at the central office/PFP.

My Questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully gotten Tier 2 / NOC to re-provision or move their port at the PFP for this specific upload queue behavior?
  2. Is this simply an inherent flaw in how the BGW handles IP Passthrough buffers, and is a full True Bypass (EAP Proxy / WAS-110 SFP bypass) the only real solution?
  3. Any specific phrasing I should use with AT&T support to get this escalated past standard gateway reboots?

Appreciate any guidance!

Wireless iPad Unlimited Day Pass Not Working

I travel quite a bit for work. Usually i have my iPhone to hotspot, but some days are busier where I need to preserve battery. So I loved the idea of the iPad unlimited day pass. The first time i did it, it worked great. Downloaded eSIM and everything smoothly.

Well I deleted the eSIM well after the first day pass expired. And yesterday went to sign up again. Never got pushed the eSIM. So I paid $3 for nothing.

AT&T support is CLUELESS. Pre-Paid support sends me to post-paid support who sends me back to pre-paid support. They all ask for a mobile number. Problem is, I don’t have that information. the Confirmation emails don’t contain that and the online order lookup only shows the last 4 digits.

None of them have been trained how to help and refuse to escalate the ticket.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you fix it?

Billing Why is my Apple Watch monthly cost so high?

Me and my family have recently switched to AT&T phone plans. I also purchased an Apple Watch with a cellular plan. I originally thought it was going to be $10.99 but I have found that I am being charged $75.99 for “unlimited for wearables” plan? There is no option to switch plans. Does anyone know what’s going on or how I can switch to the 10.99$ plan?
