A lot of people have brought up recently that ironically for a series that has made fun of basically the MCU and comic book book media in the last 5 to 10 years.
It is almost become what it try to make fun of
I mean we’re getting a prequel series with Vpught rising, and possibly a spinoff sequel with boys: Mexico.
And I almost find this really really ironic.
Considering in the last three years, we’ve been seeing a rise of superhero films after the “superhero fatigue”
We saw James Gunn rejuvenate Superman, and starting a new cinematic universe.
The MCU is get it back in on its feed with fantastic for first steps and the upcoming doomsday films
(but obviously that has a can of worms of problems)
I’m just saying, superhero media is kind of coming back and even invincible is not really superhero deconstruction anymore instead it’s more like a sci-fi series about alien conquerors and a child of one of them were fighting against his father’s people.
And even the father who is openly admitted to commit genocide
Is trying to reconcile on what he did, but still, no one will forgive him.
I’m just saying
I feel like we’re entering a new age of superhero media
And how the boys ended definitely reflected that
(and that’s just me avoiding the modern day politics and them making Homelander a Trump analog)
