I have a question about the buffer. I'm considering a KVP 10oz + AR15 tube + carbine tube and the GRS configuration. I want it for self-defense, shooting range, and competition. Which one would you recommend?

Hey there! I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a couple of setups. This is my first time dipping my toes into the world of AR9's

A little preliminary info, barrel is a 16" Faxon, bolt is a Faxon. Starting out with ExoMags to see if it runs before investing in a dedicated lower or tinkering with any mag adapters.

One buffer system I am thinking of trying is the Kynshot RB5015HD in a standard carbine tube with a standard carbine spring. This would be for a quick swap out in a standard carbine lower that's normally used for a 5.56. Has anyone tried this? Does it work okay?

The next one is building a dedicated lower, but since it's hard to find the JRC extended tube to use the classic GRS, I was thinking of the Tubbs 300BO flat spring, the Kynshot RB5015HD and only one Kynshot spacer weight in an A5 tube. Has anyone tried this? The only similar setup I saw to this on Blowback9's blog had the KAK buffer, I believe.

My Spike’s Tactical ST9 Colt mag lower has been fantastic since I adjusted my ejector properly. It has been running smooth for a while with two different uppers (4.5” BA EPC barrel w/DA Wolfman on Atlas mount tucked and a 5.5” BA EPC barrel with and the DA Wolfman about half the time).

The buffers I have used have been a Maxim RDB carbine length with a Law folder and anarchy outdoors bolt extension, the GRS with Law folder and a KAK heavy carrier extension, and now a KAK mini milspec buffer tube with a Maxim RDB CQB. It’s installed correctly, no preload or slop.

The other day I started to get bolt lock back on the last round and the Bolt catch became very hard to depress (empty mag, full mag or no mag). I use Duramags

The bolt catch appears to be canted. I reached out to Spikes Tactical Monday morning via phone call and email. I haven’t heard anything yet.

Anyone else experience this?

So I got my hands on a Hoffman trigger kicker. Arrives on Monday. My total mass is 21.3oz. So damn close to 22. I know I might have to up the mass a little. But my real question is the bolt that I have. Looks like the picture on the trigger kicker guide from Hoffman tactical site, kind of. The bottom of the bolt is not “demilled” as it describes on the site for the ones that do not work. What do you guys think? Top bolt on the photo from the site is the one that works. Bottom bolt is the one that is incorrect. I’ve also included photos of my bolt carrier group. Any advice would be awesome! Thank you ar9 fam!!

I’ve had this PCC sitting in a closet a few years now. Had never put more than 20 though the barrel. The other night I got it out to shoot and confirm zero and come up with some plans. Then I took one more shot. I am u familiar with bolts/BCGS like this. But like I said. This is my first PCC and I’m finding confusing details about it. Can anyone point out to me what’s wrong. It randomly just started double feeding every round and won’t even attempt to eject. Any help here would be appreciated. Trying to get this thing back to start running and building around it.

Upper is a Wolfpack AR45 with an 8 inch barrel
Lower is a New Frontier AR45 lower

Playing with optics on it now and just had a random Vortex and magnifier on it.

I have a PCC 9mm that I built a few years ago and it runs great and never had a issue. I did the Anderson because accepted Glock mags, I have the G26 Gen 5. I purchased a Staccato HD P4 about two months ago, my first one. Unbeknown to me the LGS owner said it takes Glock mags so when I went to our local range I informed the RSO and he pulled his mag out of his Glock and ran out his Glock 17 mag in my Staccato

It never occurred to me before until today so I tired the Staccato HD P4 mag in my Anderson PCC build and it was a no go. The mag catch-release does nothing. Then I tried the Staccato mag in the G26 and it works perfectly. Anyone know the reason why the Anderson lower won't accept the Staccato mag? The Staccato accepts Glock mags and the Glock accepts Staccato HD P4 mags but the Anderson only accepts Glock mags. Thank for looking

I think this is literally the best possible fit. Not touching the handguard, wrench flats are still exposed, but its still minimal gap.

The UTG *PRO* line have always seemed underrepresented to me IMO.

I am new to the platform and noticed after 30 shots or so, the adapter was backing off the threads a little at the barrel end. So, what non permanent solutions are you guys using to keep your BRT adapters from backing off while shooting?

I just ordered the Atrius Super Selektor and then went ham with my Dremel. How's my handiwork? Also, I know my lower is low shelf but what the heck is that other cutout on the left side?

Has anyone ran any of the expo arms upper? They got a sale right now and I'm tempted to buy the 8.3" but don't see much info on them or the feed cone in particular. Seeing if anyone has had any experience with them.

I didnt think I was going to have issues but here we are. First time poster, long time lurker. Through reading a lot that is here(AR9) and extensively following blowback9s advice I built what I thought would have a fully functioning FRT.

problem is light strikes, most I think I have gone through is about 4-5 rounds.

ICRW pin with stock spring and Uxcell spring

I know the length and the protrusion length appears different for these two pins

the Stock FM spring and Uxcell springs were very similar in strength, the Uxcell spring is a touch longer and thinner

I have seen Delta Tactical pins recommended, So I figured that I would go that way first, but just curious if anyone with this or very similar setup would have a success story to share first before I bought

Update: I was too impatient so I’ve bought the recoil system that is on sale from foxtrot, I’ll try a couple combinations of buffers/springs and see if they solve the problem.

Recently purchased a wraithworks warscorp9. Bought a kynshot RB5015HD, and 2 kynshot spacer weights, and tubbs flat spring. My issue is I can’t find an 8.5 buffer tube in stock (JRC is out of stock) to make this combination work. Any suggestions? The described setup works with one spacer but worried issues with the LRBHO.

Over the weekend i went to the local indoor range with my BIL. Goal was to function test a few project builds. I was only able to put ~120 through this one since I was testing\tuning two other guns. Shot about ~75 unsuppressed using 115gr Academy\Monarch headstamp (magtech) branded ammo with no issues. Also ran ~45 147gr subsonic HSL remans, and had two issues.

While shooting this suppressed, I was disappointed with the amount of particulates hitting me in the face. My BIL noted he wasnt getting any shooting right handed (just a little gas). But, I shoot left handed and was constantly getting peppered. Consdiering my parts list, feel like the bulk of the particulates are coming out the ejection port?

Seeing if the community has other recommendations for particulate reduction? Some things I can try next:

- My first thought is perhaps "dirty\weak ammo". I have some 147gr FM Hush ammo and 147gr Lawman clean fire i can try. Whenever syntech comes back in stock in bulk ill see about getting some of that.
- Second thought was, test my other flow through cans (flow 9kti, b&t sqd m 9, cat mob).
-Lastly, I did some quick search and saw a guy named zentradi on ar15 fitted a colt smg gas deflector to his FE upper. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediafiles/14200/zflection1_jpg-3756824.JPG i need to sign up there to get some more info from him on that.

This is my first AR9, i run a integrally suppressed (novox) cz scorpion and dont get any noticeable gas\particulates, Then also my smg, a mac11a1 with a Lage Versa-12 upper (running scorpion mags). Again no noticeable gas\particulates to the face.

Besides the suppression issue, the RDB system shot extremely soft! To the point where when running subs, once in awhile i would get FTF\FTE with the HSL subs.

Shoutout to u/amphibian-c3junkie in answering my many questions over the past month or so. Once he gets longer barrels in, i can complete my AR9 SBR build.

Built out a Colt mag 9mm a few months ago with Magpul furniture. Decided to reskin it and literally just got this done yesterday.
I made the change to be able to use a colt GI side sling mount, which the Magpul SL handguard precludes. I just never trusted putting a sling mount into un-reinforced polymer. I also think the classic carbine furniture looks better with the CAR brace.
It will probably get a FSB light mount, but holding off on that for a bit.

Furniture is B5 OD green. Quality stuff, not cheap crap. The addition of a hinged grip compartment was a nice touch.

So I have an Aero Precision EPC-9 builders kit and I am wondering how they run with an FRT setup and if I could build an SD setup? Just gimme some ideas, I have been putting together rifles, but not these 9mm AR9 setups.. Lets hear like a nice SD setup, other gucci builds, just whatever you recommend?

Stuck in the middle of a build Model 635 or mk18 lookalike? Which route would you take?
