I am a fully undocumented law student. AMA!

Upvotes

Please be civil. My goal with this post is to provide some perspective on what I know is a highly controversial issue, not to start a debate. I'm happy to answer questions about my experience living in the United States or my experience as a law student with different prospects than my peers.

Background:

I arrived in the US in December of 2007 at the age of 7 with a tourist visa. Because of my entry date, I did not qualify for DACA which required an entry before June 15, 2007. For the past 18.5 years, I have been living in the US fully undocumented. Today, I am a full-time law student in Chicago, having completed the majority of my education in the United States.

I'm an American who's lived in Korea, Oman, and 9 U.S. States, and traveled through 49 states and over 20 countries! AMA!

Upvotes

I grew up on the West coast of the US, lived in Korea in the US Army, but lived in Oman as a grad student. The vast majority of my travels were as a civilian rather than while I was in the military.

I've also managed to live in every region of the US(West Coast, South, Midwest, and NorthEast) as well as multiple major cities and incredibly small towns. Ask away!

I've been a male model for 6 years. AMA

Upvotes

I'm 20 at the moment. I started shortly after my 14th birthday. When I was younger, I did shoots for youth clothing. Now I model leather jackets and denim. I honestly enjoy the work, but there are weird things that go on behind the scenes.

Law student dreading going back to school in 6 weeks. AMA!

I (23m) finished my first year of law school in May. I got to school pretty far from home, and where I went to college, and honestly, being back home for the summer has really made me realize how much I was missing out on during school. I've felt so much happier in summer and it's to the point I'm kinda dreading going back... anyway, ask me anything about law school, the law, life, or anything else!

I'm 27 with a net worth of around €65M. Ask me anything

A bit of context:

  1. I'm 27 years old, from a relatively poor European country, and my net worth is around €65 million. At 24, I joined a company as a co-founder and founding product designer. At 26, I sold my 28% equity stake for about €52 million. Over the following year, I grew that to roughly €65 million.
  2. I don’t come from a wealthy family, as many people might assume. I come from a family that struggles even to be considered middle class.
  3. That isn't all liquid. If I wanted to buy something worth €65 million tomorrow, I couldn't. I estimate that I have immediate access to around €25~ million in cash and liquid assets.
  4. Money hasn't had any noticeable effect on my overall happiness, but I never expected it to. I've always believed that lasting happiness can't be obtained through possessions or external circumstances. The biggest difference is that I can take care of my family and I know I'll never have to work for money again. That gives me a great sense of peace. It doesn't stop me from working though. I genuinely enjoy what I do, and most days it feels more like playing than doing a job.
  5. I don't feel "wealthy" in the true sense of the word because I've had the opportunity to meet people who are truly wealthy. I just feel privileged.

Ask me anything.

I survived a tornado AMA

It started as a normal rainy day at my uncle’s house. My uncle, my grandma, my mom, my little brother, and my brother’s friend were all there. I was relaxing in the living room, watching TV while the rain fell outside. At first, it just seemed like another storm.

Then everything changed.

Without warning, the TV blasted a loud emergency alert.

“BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!”

The sound echoed through the house, instantly grabbing everyone’s attention. The alert warned us about dangerous weather in the area. Before we could even process everything, the electricity suddenly went out.

The house went completely dark.

The only sounds left were the wind and the heavy rain outside. It was a scary moment because we didn’t know exactly what was happening or how bad the storm was going to get.

I grabbed my phone and called my dad. Hearing his voice helped me stay calm while everyone waited for the storm to pass. We stayed together, listened for updates, and hoped for the best.

Thankfully, the tornado passed, and everyone in the house was safe. Although it was one of the scariest moments I’ve ever experienced, we all survived without being hurt.

That day taught me that weather can change in an instant, and that staying calm and staying together during an emergency can make all the difference.

AMA my aunt survived being targeted by a serial killer

During the late 90s my mother's older sister was a 21 year old woman who lived in New Mexico. She had made friends with an older man named Robert Fry who had befriended my aunt and tried to get her to go into the woods with him. Thankfully, she refused and eventually Fry was arrested for the deaths of several women. My aunt is still alive and now has 7 children.

I have lived in a tier 5 city and a tier 3 city. (Tier 1 cities are the most developed/rich, tier 5s are the least developed/rich.) It’s quite different to how I and my family members imagined it to be. I really enjoy my job here (English teaching) and recommend this profession to people often.

AMA--4th Singaporean in Lithuania. Previously lived in the US, UK. Working on political campaign management tech in my own startup.

Hi! I'm Luke. I live in Vilnius, Lithuania. I lived as a foreign student in the US and UK (Columbia/Oxford) and now live in Vilnius with my wife and our 2 cats (one of which was a rescue from NYC). I'm an introvert, ADHD, chronic insomniac. Have a bunch of really fun experiences and licenses that I don't use--sailing, coxing, PPL, diving, motorcycle but am now in my "super risk averse phase". Always wanted to become a sociology professor in a small women's liberal arts college but alas life has weird plans. Big time computer gamer. Christian.

Thought this would be fun, always wanted to do an AMA.

I'm having my 5th miscarriage, AMA

I've had 5 miscarriages (one actively happening) and one healthy living toddler. Order as follows: missed miscarriage at 13 wks (measuring 11); two "chemicals" (4-6 weeks); 7 weeks; healthy pregnancy; and now a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks (measuring 9). All within the past 5 years or maybe less.

My heart is hurting but I thought this might somehow feel therapeutic or help someone going through something similar. AMA.

Currently 26 and delivering in Idaho. I’m actively changing careers so this is my “send off” for myself I guess?

I tried to make it a priority to cater to the residents on my route, and I took pride in my work. It’s just time for me to take a different path now :)

Spanning from June 11th to July 19th I watched every game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. There were 104 games in the tournament, each game lasting 90 minutes, so that means there were 9360 scheduled minutes of game time which equates to nearly one week of nonstop football watching, all covered within 38 days. I grew up in extremely hypochondriac environment. AMA

Title basically. Some people think hypochondriacs are funny or nice to be around because they know what to do in emergencies / what advice to give but my experience is different. I now suffer from OCD, usually health oriented and in therapy I realised I was literally traumatised as a kid and lived through many irrational fears thanks to my hypochondriac grandparents.
