I see a lot of guides on how to set up single player, but is there a way to host this on a VPS? Trying to find fun projects to work on to learn more about server management.

I've been having alot of fun playing the game but for some reason the Ancient Staff requires the completion of Desert Treasure to use while the rest of the Ancient Magic can be accessed via the backdoor in the pyramid. Is there another weapon I can use in the meantime while the Ancient Staff gets fixed?

I'm having a hard time finding players to connect with. Most, if not all of the characters I see walking around are bots and not players and I can't easily keep them separate.

Does anyone have a trick for this? Like a plugin or maybe at least a count of how many REAL players are online?

I'm trying to speak to King Narnode Shareen to start The Grand Tree quest and no dialogue is happening, I also can't read the journal for The Grand Tree quest in my quest log.

I'm playing singleplayer on the latest release.

edit: In fact going through the quest log now there's a load of quests I can't read the journals for.

I'm trying to get plugins to work in singleplayer but can't find a way. Singleplayer doesn't work through the Saradomin launcher, it just gets stuck on connecting to update server. I just want the BasicInputQoL plugin for singleplayer.

I've been trying to get the GE working on my 2009scape singleplayer for a little while now and thought I would make a post to see if I could find some help.

I started by enabling the cheat in the config "i_want_to_cheat" which claims to allow the buying/selling of items at any price on the GE. This does allow me to buy any item at any price, albeit it is quite buggy. Search for an item, select it, get an error message saying I can't buy it. But if you set a quantity and price it still sets the order and it will be fulfilled with time.

I'm having trouble selling items though. Trying to select anything in my inventory gives me the "You can not sell this item..." error. I thought maybe trying to set a quantity and price would still set a sell order anyway, just like the buy orders? This was not the case, as it will set to a buy order instead when placed. I also tried running the command in game, ::allowge, but it doesn't seem to do anything as far as I can tell.

I've had some people tell me to just use other alternatives such as selling to vendor + giving yourself the difference in coin, just playing w/o it, etc. but I honestly would prefer the convenience of the ge interface.

I am playing the 2009scape singleplayer version and am enjoying it a lot! There is one flaw though: all the NPCs (even the ones in GWD) are not aggressive, independent of my combat level. Do you guys know a fix for this?

I’ve got the server up and running on local host, but I’ve got a few questions regarding the database.

1) Where is player data stored other than the data/players folder? The json file seems to only contain a certain amount of data (no username or rights).

2) How can I connect my server to my database? I’ve got XAMPP and the global database set up, but it doesn’t seem to interact at all (creating an account doesn’t insert into the db)

My goal was to give my account admin rights without using dev mode or having everyone with admin, but I’m also interested in where this is all stored so I can dabble in the future. Probably silly questions but I’ve rooted around for hours and come up with very little.

FOUND OUT HOW!

If you'd like to have the G.E work as as if players were with you in singleplayer follow these steps!

Head to the file where you installed 2009scape

2009scape install > game > worldprops > default.conf

Now open default.conf and locate these lines:

#enable auto-buy/auto-sell on the GE.

i_want_to_cheat = false | You're going to go ahead and change this value "false" to "true".

Then save the file and launch your singleplayer, boom head to the Grand Exchange and you can buy or sell any item listed as their G.E price. This is actually insanely amazing for us SP players and just found this out myself. Only thing is you're going to have to run on the "honor system" meaning you wont sell a bucket for 1M because I'm sure it will sell.

Every time I log out I have to start over again. I am closing the game by using option 4 in the command prompt. What else could it be?
