It's time! The votes have been counted, double checked, and...yep, that's an absolute blowout. Two themes only got one vote apiece outside of the mod that picked them, with everyone else going for our winner. Sci-Fi vs Fantasy

That's right, it's time to put on your cloak and wizard's hat before arguing it still counts for sci-fi because they're on some alien planet. We're pretty lose with our interpretations on this, counting characters both if their series is sci-fi / fantasy or if they fall into the genre themselves (for example, characters like Iron Man counting for sci-fi despite his universe also having the likes of Thor and Doctor Strange), so use your best judgement. If it feels like it's pushing a line, it probably is.

Now, for some key points:

  • The creation period starts right now! If you go on the official RT Discord server you can ask to join either Team Sci-Fi or Team Fantasy and you'll get access to an exclusive channel where you can discuss, collaborate, and featpost. We're going to be trialling a shorter creation period this time and making the official posting period August 16th through to August 22nd. Any threads posted before or after this period will not count.
  • As a reminder, OutbuRsTs are contests where the entire request list (active and cold storage) will be available for a short period, with every thread posted for your team earning points based on their base point total, with the team with the highest combined score being the winner. The intent of this contest is to get people to make threads for the event, so please try and avoid posting any threads you've got 90% completed and have just been putting off formatting until now.
  • Following Team Robbers literally stealing the show last time, we're implementing a 30 Point per Franchise Limit. This is to ensure treasure troves where the theme and number of requests line up perfectly can only do so much to push the scores in one side's favour and help cultivate more of a competition.
  • Dragons are so much cooler in space than in yet another generic western middle ages-inspired setting so you should totally join Team Sci-Fi
