Scan-Battle Respect Thread Rumble: Killers (Exquisite Corpses) vs Killers
Several killers from the 2025 Oak Valley death game are pitted against several other assassins recently posted to r/respectthreads. Standard equipment for all fighters.
Respect the Killers (Exquisite Corpses)
The Lone Gunman vs Cassian (John Wick 2)
Lone Gunman
- Rolls to evade a crashing ambulance
- Knocks the blade out of Fox Mask Killer’s hand with a knife
- Brawls with Fox Mask Killer, throwing a knife into her hand and cracking her mask with a punch
- Blows Leopold Strong’s head apart with a handgun
- Handgun fire leaves holes in tombstones
Cassian
- Throws Wick through a window
- His suit is bulletproof, and he gets up seconds after being shot a few times by Wick’s Glock
- John kicks the shit out of him for a bit yet he keeps going
- Matches Wick in a quickdraw
- Parries an attack from John Wick then disarms him of his knife
Verdict
With how strong the Lone Gunman’s bullets are, I feel like Cassian’s bulletproof suit might not withstand shots as well as it typically does. His handgun shots alone create massive exit wounds and blow golf ball-sized holes in stone, and he’s seen carrying larger pieces of ordinance into Oak Valley. I feel like even if the Gunman’s shots aren’t fatal, they’d be leaving welts or breaking bones on direct hits. We also know for sure that Cassian's suit can be impaled with a knife. Of course, the Lone Gunman’s only protections are worn as a mask on his face, so either combatant would be about equal in terms of how much damage can be dealt per gunshot.
As for melee range, I also feel like both combatants are around the same level. Cassian has feats for tangling with John Wick, executing great feats of blocking, redirection and takedowns, while Lone Gunman has feats of taking a knife to a swordfight against the Fox Mask Killer. Of course, neither gunman actually gets a clean win on their opponent and they eventually end up with knives in their chests, but still, the close range combat skill is there.
An extremely close matchup, where I think the needle moves slightly closer to Cassian in melee combat and slightly towards the Lone Gunman at range. I’d give the barest nod to the Lone Gunman if only on account of his wider arsenal and him being handier with a knife.
Winner: Lone Gunman
Rascal Randy vs the Russian (The Punisher, 2004)
Rascal Randy
- Lifts a teenager while choking him
- Crushes a man’s head with a soda dispenser
- Gets up after being stabbed in the face with a pencil
- He's seemingly killed after he's shoved out a second-story window and is impaled through the chest on the handle of Leopold Strong's mallet but he manages to survive and escapes Oak Valley before clean-up crews can recover him
- He killed seven people in a play place via strangulation, a choke hold and with various sharp kitchen implements
The Russian
- Punches through a door, then floors Frank with a punch
- Hits Frank through a wooden door
- Throws Frank through an apartment wall
- Gets stabbed with a knife and is fine
- Only briefly stunned and then pissed off after he's hit in the face with a crowbar
- Hits a thrown grenade like a baseball, sending it back through a hole in a door
Verdict
In terms of strength, the Russian beats Randy handily. His feats of strangulation and lifting a teenager pale in comparison to the collateral damage generated by the Russian. The fact that he's capable of tossing around Frank Castle with punches or throws means he'd dominate whether in striking or grappling ranges.
The Russian also seems to have better endurance. Rabbit Randy does survive impalement and gets up before the credits roll like a true slasher villain, but his in-the-moment pain resistance is kind of bad. Compare the pencil stab scene to the Russian's knife stab scene and you can clearly see which killer can shrug off more damage mid-fight.
With no notable acts of speed for Randy, the Russian takes the stat triangle handily. The only thing going for the bunny mascot is better use of improvised weapons, but against a physical monster who laughs off stab wounds or crowbars to the face, he'd need to get really lucky to have a chance of finding something that could drop the Russian.
Winner: the Russian
Lady Carolina vs the Green Arrow Killer (Absolute DC)
Lady Carolina
- Blocks a thrown kunai with her crossbow
- Fights with the Fox Mask Killer, getting pounced on before kicking her enemy off of her. Lady Carolina then gets thrown to the floor but manages to bite the Fox Mask’s lower lip to recover.
- She receives a large gash across her torso from the Fox Mask Killer’s sword
- She killed four men in a bar, lodging a broken bottle in the chest of one victim
Green Arrow Killer
- Beheads two men with swung machetes
- Wears body armor that allows them to take two shots from a revolver
- Off-panel, they killed Jubal Slade’s six-man security detail, mostly with headshots
- From cover, they ricochet an arrow off three surfaces to shoot a target in the back
- Their arrows are coated in a poison that induces boils, hemorrhaging and death, with glancing shots delivering lethal doses
Verdict
The Green Arrow’s shots are massively more dangerous than Lady Carolina’s bolts thanks to their poison, which makes even a glancing blow fatal in seconds. They’re also much handier with their bow than Lady Carolina, with feats of ricocheting arrows off the environment or scoring headshots on groups of targets. Comparatively, Lady Carolina has only really grazed a moving target with her very expensive crossbow.
Close range combat is also kind of a wash. Green Arrow’s got machetes on cords while Lady Carolina doesn’t really have anything aside from her crossbow. In all fairness, she has trained with every form of weapon found in the murder games, but they’re also not part of her standard equipment and she’d need to get lucky and find an improvised weapon. Which would be challenging to pull off while being pursued by the Green Arrow Killer.
Overall, feeding the Green Arrow Killer another member of the billionaire elite could only really go one way.
Winner: the Green Arrow Killer
Pretty Boy vs Bullseye (Marvel MAX)
Pretty Boy
- Counters a stab from the Congregation and breaks his arm, then does the same to his neck
- Kicks a door off its hinges
- He’s kicked towards an exploding van7 , which burns and mangles half of his face and leaves his body full of glass shards. Despite the injuries, Pretty Boy isn’t impeded and massacres a group of people right after.
- Ducks under three handgun shots
- Disembowels one person with a chop, then throws his hatchet into another person’s head
Bullseye
- Fights off numerous men while barely moving and monologuing to himself, including utilizing a belt to choke someone out
- Breaks the Kingpin’s finger and manages to overwhelm him
- Takes a shot to the back
- Dodges a punch from the Kingpin then strikes him
- Swallows a small pistol, and shits it out, using it to kill 6 people who thought he was unarmed
Verdict
Strength and hand-to-hand skill goes to Bullseye, mostly because his on-panel fights are against more skilled opponents. He beats the crap out of mobsters and has survived a fight with the Punisher, while Pretty Boy directs his violence towards civilians and dies when he tries fighting someone like the Fox Mask Killer. Pretty boy does have an advantage in his hatchets, which he always has with him, while Bullseye has very little in terms of “standard arsenal” and wings most of his fights or assassinations.
In terms of endurance, Bullseye has shrugged off non-fatal gunshots and Pretty Boy has responded the same to non-lethal lacerations. Pretty Boy takes the edge for recovering shortly after the van explosion and fighting on despite his heavily burned and cut up state.
Although Bullseye is said to never miss a target, Pretty Boy's feat of ducking handgun bullets should grant him a degree of safety. His skill in tossing hatchets also means he isn't completely helpless against a foe who favors ranged combat.
Ultimately, I think the fight should favor Pretty Boy. Seeing as how he can duck bullets, the fight should move to close ranges pretty quickly, and he's handier with hatchets than Shelton is with his melee weapons or fists.
Winner: Pretty Boy
Fox Mask Killer vs Foolkiller (Marvel MAX)
Fox Mask Killer
- Brawls with Lone Gunman, sweeping his legs with a kick and striking his elbow with a palm strike
- Breaks Pretty Boy’s forearm with an elbow strike
- Kicks Pretty Boy in the face and follows up by decapitating him
- Fights with Lady Carolina, taking a crossbow bolt to her shoulder and leaping on her enemy before flooring her with a throw
- Cartwheels to avoid an overhead strike from Pretty Boy, then throws a bottle at his head
- She slices clean through Lady Carolina’s very expensive crossbow and leaves a large gash across her torso
Foolkiller
- Cuts a man in half at the waist
- Slices a mans head in half
- Swings from a rope and holds his sword out, decapitating several enemies
- Punched through the nose and shoved through glass
- Slashes a man's fingers off before he could reach his gun, then does so again on the other hand, then takes off his hand, then his arm
- Sneaks up on a man and kills him with his sword
Verdict
Both swordfighters are capable of slashing heads off with relative ease. Slight points for Foolkiller, who mixes it up with showings for cutting skulls in half or decapitating several combatants in a single slash. In terms of skill, they’re both scourges of the underworld known for massacring groups of criminals, it’s just that the Fox Mask Killer’s gang fights all happen before the death game and are implied rather than shown. For one-on-one fights, I give the slight edge to Fox Mask. Sure, Foolkiller has tangled with big names like the Punisher, but Fox Mask has personally spanked around her world’s top killers, whittling them down until they’re in pieces. Foolkiller mostly dominates no-names, but for more skilled foes like Sickle Moon or the Punisher, the fights are much harder fought or don’t result in fatalities.
Fox Mask's fighting style is also more agile and shows her exercising more verticality, whether that's by jumping off car hoods to attack from above or getting low to sweep legs. Mike is more of a straightforward, both feet on the ground kind of fighter. Still effective, but easier to read and respond to for an equal fighter.
In terms of durability, both are capable of ignoring injuries that would take the fight out of lesser combatants. Mike takes bullets while Fox Mask takes bolts, and neither seem to impede them from swinging their swords. I'd give the tiniest edge to Fox Mask, as she has a feat of fighting through a chopped up hand, which could prove very relevant against a guy who loves amputating pieces like Foolkiller.
Foolkiller definitely has advantages in equipment and stealth. The fact that he carries two handguns and his opponent only carries a kunai means that he's much more comfortable at long and mid-range. I don't think it's an automatic win, since Fox Mask is experienced in decimating gun-toting groups, but it would help. If he were to play it smart, he could disengage from direct combat and attack from stealth, maybe with a gunshot from behind that'd be tougher to evade for Fox Mask.
Overall, I'm leaning towards the Fox Mask Killer on account of her more dynamic, unorthodox fighting style and experience fighting equals, although the Foolkiller could potentially earn a win by getting creative with stealth or firearms.
Winner: Fox Mask Killer

Very nicely done! I can't imagine it was easy finding opponents for each of the killers. Not to mention keeping each fighter's feats organized. Good work!
That being said, I think I do have a rebuttal for one of your matchups. That match being Fox Mask Killer (Exquisite Killers) versus Foolkiller (Marvel MAX). I'm inclined to believe the winner would actually be Foolkiller.
To start with, I think Foolkiller's advantage in strength deserves more credit. You stated:
Both swordfighters are capable of slashing heads off with relative ease. Slight points for Foolkiller, who mixes it up with showings for cutting skulls in half or decapitating several combatants in a single slash.
I think Foolkiller has some even more notable strength feats than decapitating several combatants in a single slash though. He's also able to cut people in half too despite taking a beating. I'd say that's far better than Fox Mask Killer's strength—even accounting for her slicing through an obstruction, her feat of slashing someone across the stomach doesn't strike me as being anywhere near as good. I know she says she wasn't trying to kill Lady Carolina, but that doesn't necessarily imply she has to strength to perform such a feat.
Why the emphasis on strength though? I think it lends itself well to what would otherwise be a niche win condition for Foolkiller—disarming Fox Mask Killer. During her brawl with Lone Gunman she winds up being disarmed by him. Specifically, it looks like he overpowered her. If you look at Fox Mask Killer's hands when he's disarming her it looks like she loses her grip from the force of Lone Gunman's attack. Given that Foolkiller's unarmed strikes are capable of smashing through the windshield of a car and kicking a door down, I imagine he should be fully capable of matching Lone Gunman's. Breaking someone's arm in six places and breaking a mask of indeterminate material seem like things Foolkiller could do even more easily than Lone Gunman did.
Another point you bring up is that Fox Mask's agility gives her an advantage against Foolkiller. I don't think that's as big of an advantage as you make it out to be though. I won't deny that she's quick on her feet. She's able to make great use of her agility for both evading attacks and jumping in to attack. I think that Foolkiller's guns give him a great option for dealing with her agility though. Especially since he can quickly go from swinging his sword to firing his gun. This ensures he's always got the ability to threaten Fox Mask Killer at close and medium range.
I think that's sums up all the points I wanted to make. Between his ability to beat her in strength, having enough power to disarm her and having tools to threaten her at both close and medium range I'd say that Foolkiller would be more likely to win due to having more chances to land power hits. Fox Mask Killer might be able to outmanoeuvre Foolkiller and sweep him off his feet. But I think Foolkiller's more powerful hits would convert to landing attacks that have a chance of either debilitating Fox Mask Killer or outright ending the fight.
Hopefully you enjoyed my response to your post Benny! As I said, I really enjoyed all the fights you looked at here. It's a lot of effort to go over so many different fights, and I think you did a great job with it!
