But honeslty i think there should be heavy fines for those who start a fire out and about while camping and they fail to extinguish it properly.

Once this year and twoce last year i went to a campground and i had to finish the job just before the fire was starting to reignite due to winds.

Visiting Whitehorse in early October (1-4) and wondering if there’s any tours or hiking that will still be accessible at that time?

I’m visiting from BC and have experience in Northern BC during that time, I’m generally aware of what the weather might be like.

I’m assuming no rafting by then, but are there any good hikes that would still be accessible without risk of a ton of snow?

We would rent a car. Up for anything, just want to enjoy the great outdoors in the Yukon :)

Hi, I'm planning a backpacking trip in Canada for this September and I wanted to put Yukon on my list. There's a lot of stuff in and around Whitehorse that I want to see, but I don't have acess to a vehicle/drivers licence. Would it be worth coming all the way to Yukon without a car? How good is public transit in the city/surrounding area? Does anyone know of cheap tours or guides ect? Thanks

Hello! I have recently moved to Whitehorse for the summer for a job, and was looking to get a tattoo while I’m here. My job has inconsistent hours (sometimes I get off at 4pm, sometimes 7pm, depending on the job), and I am required to work most weekends. Because of this, it would be difficult for me to book an appointment time in advanced that I could be sure I would make it to. I was wondering if there are any tattoo artists in the city that take walk ins? It would only be a small piece. I understand there is a dam just downstream of the blue bridge (Lewes River Bridge) and the boat lock is out of service until it can be repaired.

Where is the portage route to bypass the dam? From looking at aerial imagery I assume it's on the left hand side when paddling downstream by hopping out on Lewes Dam Road. The right hand side looks quite steep by the dam and didn't appear to be as easy of a portage route.

I am thinking of visiting Yukon as I’ve always wanted to. I will be coming from the US, and wanted to ask the following:

1) whether visiting Whitehorse, going to Kathleen Lake, and/or driving to Skagway, AK be doable in early October, or do the roads close?

2) When is fall season?

3) Any must knows that outsiders often miss?

I am driving from Edmonton to White horse leaving on September 4th. I plan to take three nights and 4 days to make the trip and was planning to stay past Dawson Creek on the first night, hopefully at Kiskitinaw Park. I have since realized that I will be traveling on the long weekend and most of the places I had planned to stop along the way do not allow reservations.

Does anyone have advice on excellent places to stop along the way that will actually have availability? I could always just pull over to the side of the road but I don't think my dog would enjoy that.

I have to be at Kewanee National park by September 8th. Other than that my travel ​schedule is completely flexible.

What’s the best month to hike tombstone territorial park if I want to see the fall colours in full effect?

As scenic as it would be, ideally before it starts snowing too much and getting super cold or slippery, as I don’t have the gear or experience for that yet

Edit: planning on doing one or two multi day hikes including grizzly lake trail along with any other points of interest recommended (time allowing)

We're hoping to manage this trip in early September. We are well aware that once we pass Prince George we'd have to go charge at non-Tesla chargers and have all of the adapters.

Has anyone on here done this trip (or the opposite)? Any advice you can give? How many apps did you have to add to your phone? How many days did the trip take you? Are there any areas where we definitely should have some range anxiety?

Yes, I know lots of people don't like Teslas (we bought it before we knew what an absolute a**hole Musk is) but it's the only car we have.
