There has been a noticable increase in homeless people on campus lately. They ask for money, stare, mumble to themselves, pace back and forth. Can be a little uncomfortable.

Anything we can do about it as students? I'm okay with them so long as they don't bother the community. But asking for money, staring, being stinky, sleeping in plain sight and doing drugs on campus shouldn't be acceptable.

If they are asking for change and staring, pacing back and forth staring at students and their belongings, is calling security effective?

So, I’m going to be a Law & Society student in the fall this year at York. Since I will be a heavy reading and writing major, I just wanted to get my insights on like academics, specifically citations. I know high school cititing a little different and considering they’re a lot more chill when it comes to citing your sources. I was wondering if there’s any tips or suggestions on how I can start adapting to university level citations and putting sources in my assignments? I wanna be able to keep good grades and all cause I’ve heard without proper citation, you can go from an A to a B….

is there anyone here who is currently in or has gone this route? Not much information about this online, and the reddit posts related to accelerated nursing are about the 2 year program only. I would love to know if there are any specific requirements for this or just your general experience, really thinking about applying.

If anyone is taking this course, i am really struggling and need help

We get access to Criterion and Kanopy through our York accounts, but some of the films on Kanopy require a request to York in order to access them. Has anyone tried and did your request get approved? I’m wondering if they only grant requests for academic purposes and I just want to watch them for fun.

Im going into my first year at York nursing and i am commuting like 1h 40 everyday, can someone let me know if this is a good schedule or if i should change a couple things

I’m part of a co op program, still looking for a job, but need to get my enrolment confirmation form to receive my education assistance plan, which is due on August 1. I submitted a request for the form a week ago but still haven’t gotten access to the form and kinda worried I won’t be able to receive it on time. How long would it take to get that form?

my younger brother has gotten into Engineering. His degree just says engineering so I'm assuming after first year he'll choose a specialization or whatever it is(I'm a humanities kid, don't come at me rn). - I have both bio 1 and 2 ofc

- I also have Biochem 1 (SC/BIOL 2020 3.00), which would fulfill the biochem requirement

For the other 2 required Bio courses, I have a few possible courses that I have taken that could fulfill the requirement:

- HH/KINE 2031 3.00 (Human Anatomy)

- HH/KINE 3710 3.00 (Immune System in Health and Disease)

- HH/KINE 3650 3.00 (Functional Neuroanatomy)

Hey everyone, I built a web application to help eliminate the manual task of copy pasting highlights from PDFs into a word document for easy review later. 

The application automatically extracts highlighted text passages from PDFs as the reader highlights them and allows him/her to download the collected notes from the PDF into a text file.
 
There are five note taking methods that help the reader structure their notes as they are reading. 

I built the application because I was spending a lot of time collecting highlighted notes from PDF files to help with reviewing later.

I’m looking for people to test the web application and give me their feedback. I’m also giving people who try it and leave their email lifetime access for the application. The web application is https://studyeasehaven.ca. 

I noticed for example that there’s an Econometrics course and then a Topics in Econometrics course, and the same goes for Corporate Finance. What are they actually and is there a benefit to taking both versions? Thank you in advance!

Any one had an interview for IT assistant -Information Technology Assistant work study position? How was the interview? What questions to expect? Best way to prepare?

i did work-study before, but since it was a time-consuming position, I wasn’t able to get a second job and the pay + hours were pretty low compared to what i need for bills and stuff. i’m set to have another job outside of york from september going, but I don’t know the details yet, and it’s still part time.

I'm just looking into this course as an elective so I can finally graduate. So I already took Statistical Methods 2 for extra credits. The past syllabus for stats 1 mentions they used Jamori instead of R Studio, I just wanted to know if that was still the case. I don't want to learn a whole new software especially since I already did the second part of the course. Also can someone tell me if the quizzes and tests are acsynchronous for the fully online section, or at least the quizzes? I'm starting a full-time job and it's going to interfere if I have to keep taking off time for the tests.

Hi everyone. I'm currently a student in EECS 3221 (Operating System Fundamentals) and we have a lab exam coming up soon. I'm not original a York student (on a letter of permission from my home university) and this is the first time im doing an lab exam with Habib ur Rehman.
