I miss the good old days of getting the XOM and getting absolutely hype over games that never actually came to fruition.

Couldn't fit the rest of the post on the title (200 character limit) but here's the rest of it here - Last June, Xbox Series was seeing impact of the May price increase and the Switch 2 launch. So, big % growth on a smaller base last year. Still, good month for Xbox Series.

Frustrated and sad. So im a dad that fell out of gaming a long time ago. I got this xbox 360 in 2008 and played it on and off for a few years but eventually put it away as I didn't have time to play. My kids are a little older now and they have a switch so I thought i would expose them to Xbox for the first time. Well I took it out and went to boot up a disc and it wouldn't read. Come to find out its likely a bad laser. So I bought a laser and replaced it (proudly!) and it worked! They got to play a few racing games and started a coop campaign on halo 3 which I had bought for them since my oldest son expressed interest in halo. Well I played with them a bit and it got me back into gaming. I thought this is great! I get to start on an old console and experience all those games I missed then! So I got on ebay and found all the best games I missed out on and purchased them too (second picture - Ace Combat 6 is still in the mail). We'll the kids just went to bed and I thought I would start with RDR and low and behold its the dreaded RROD. I thought after all these years it would be unlikely to happen.

Not sure what to do at this point. I have all these games now. Is this worth trying to fix? Do I buy another 360? Should I buy an Xbox one and can I play these games on it? I don't think i want to invest too much money to buy an Xbox series x and not sure what of these i can play in it. But then again I would like to maybe play gta 6. Maybe a used series x? Or do series s have a version with a disc drive? What would you do?

As I explained here a few months ago, for quite some time now, I've been trying to identify the weekly XBOX Free Play Days lineup before the official XBOX Wire announcement.

The goal is simply to give players a chance to start downloading and playing a little earlier (sometimes up to 16 hours before the XBOX Wire post). I also usually try to create a cover image similar to the official one to share the information 🙃

Note: XBOX Free Play Days events usually end on Mondays at 7 PM UTC. Some games are often playable starting on Wednesdays at 11 PM UTC.

Games identified so far (based on my findings)

From now until Monday, July 27, around 7 PM UTC:

• METAL GEAR SOLID - Master Collection Version
• METAL GEAR & METAL GEAR 2: Solid Snake
• Tides of Tomorrow

As always, additional games may still be revealed during the official XBOX announcement later today, as it can be difficult to identify all the selected titles (especially since games that are playable without a subscription are harder to spot)

If you have a Halo disc for Xbox or PlayStation 5 the evolved campaign works now. After downloading the preload/update, it started running great on my Xbox Series X. It’s also working great on PlayStation 5 Pro for those with discs. No NZ trick just discs are working now.

I bought this game on XBOX a while back, but despite that, it says I also own the PC version. If you were to download this game on PC from the Microsoft store however, you’d only download a small, unplayable file.

So recently, I have been gifted an Xbox One for helping a friend move. I haven’t been in the Xbox Community since Early Xbox 360, I experienced the Red Ring of Death & my brother ended getting the PS3, never looked back. I have always been a fan of the Xbox but now that I have been gifted this, I want to take advantage but Is it still good to use?
I guess the online or is it still being updated?

Any Suggestions?

With the news that backwards compatible games are going to get achievements and playable on PC, I’m looking to purchase more titles. Any games you are interested in picking up on the sale?

Also anyone know if there an easy way to search/filter on store or somewhere else? Google hasn’t been helpful and don’t see anything on store.
