Was planning on staying at the Guyot Campsite this weekend and was wondering when I should plan on getting there in order to get a platform. It will be my first real overnight and want to make sure that I can get a platform for the best experience. I am just worried what happend if its all filled up and where to go if that were to happen. Any tips would be greatly appreciated for the best experience possible. Planning on starting at the Zealand Trail head up to the Guyot Campsite. Then waking up around sunrise to hit west bond and bond, and maybe bondcliff. Then heading back down to the zealand trail head. Does that sound like the best way to stay at Guyot and hit the bonds? Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

So I’ve done Modonoack Mountain via parker white arrow pumpelly white dot and cascade 4 (?) times now, and think I’m ready to go to something a bit more challenging?? I asked Google and it said to go Cardigan via Holt but from what I’ve seen that’s a bit much for me. I have MS and have had 3x back surgeries (one this year lol) and a knee surgery. I would like /am willing to do something more risky than what I’ve been doing without potentially falling off the top of Holt/ Cardigan if I have an issue climbing that last half mile, which Google said is super difficult??

At the end of the day.. I need humans to ask.. here I am.. please help me out. Willing to answer any questions…

I am planning an overnight at Guyot this weekend via North Twin trailhead. I want to start Saturday before sunrise. I live 3+ hours away so my plan is to sleep overnight Friday already up there. I see “Site 10 Haystack Rd” and it appears to be dispersed camping, but can’t find much more info online.

Does anyone know about that location or any alternatives nearby they have experience using?

Did the traverse yesterday and it was a blast. Had the peaks all to myself and didn't see anyone till I was 95% done.

I was shocked there weren't more out given it's proximity to North Conway. Views were great and the hike up north got the heart pumping.

I was running at the end of the hike to meet the car that was picking me up, passed a bunch of kids and then promptly ate shit. I was fine, just a bruised ego but the timing was excellent

My girlfriend and I are doing a trip through the white mountains, we will be staying just outside of Littleton and are looking to do a hike then drive over to bar harbor for our next stop later in the day.

We’re both in great shape and I’ve backpacked the pemi loop before and loved the views and the challenge it presented.

I’m looking for a hike that can be completed in 4-8 hours

- Franconia Ridge
- Caps Ridge to Jefferson

But I know it’s going to be a Sunday morning so I’m concerned about parking.

If you have any insight on if parking will be readily available to either of those as well as some alternative suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!

Trying to plan a Mt Adams loop right now and looking at using Lowe's Path as the descent. Looking for something different as I've already done airline and valleyway. Looking planning on going out King ravine and looping back out Lowe's path. Just interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on Lowe's. Thanks

I was so impressed with the bang for your buck on this hike! I just want to recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a little climb for a captivating view.

I’ve done the 4,000 footers and am now loving my journey through the 52 with a view. So many gems that weren’t on my radar!

This hike is wonderful for bringing along newer hikers.

Last summer I did the Pemigewasset loop in three nights and had a great time, so I've been wanting to come back and do something bigger in WMNF. I hear the presidentials are cool but I'm also pretty interested in this Huntington Ravine which I hear is challenging.

Does anybody who's more familiar with the area have any 30-40 mile recommendations, and is it possible to do Huntington Ravine AND a good portion of the peaks around there?

hi, I’m hoping to do the Franconia Ridge Loop trail for the first time this summer. I’ve hiked other white mountains and know this is a difficult trail (mainly due to length???) , but I’m wondering about the extent of the rock scrambles. For me, the most difficult part are those completely flat, but steep slabs of rock. I’ve looked at numerous videos and pictures, but I haven’t seen any of those. For context, I did the Welch-Dickey loop about a month ago, and felt comfortable with the slab sections, even when they were damp and slippery. However, I probably wouldn’t want to climb slabs much steeper than that. Does this trail include a lot of that? from what I’ve seen, it looks like a lot of smaller rocks but a very well marked trail. thanks in advance!

Heading to the Dry River wilderness area this weekend. Curious to know how much water is flowing in the river right now. Not worried about crossings, more concerned about getting drinking water to filter. If anyone has been up there very recently, please let me know. Thanks!

This adventure has left such an impact on me. It was a precious glimpse into what felt like a different planet. So worth every step, and left me hoping that those close to me get to experience it one day too.

Hi all! Looking to formulate a good plan to tackle Washington in a couple weeks. I’ve completed 4 single day presidential traverses and finished one in just under 7 hours so please skip the usual warning about how tough it is and the need for preparation ect. I know. I’m getting a little bored with the standard presidential traverse route and wanna tackle some different routes. Was thinking of doing the Tuckerman ravine route up but I want a little more than just an up and down. Ideally looking for 15-20 miles with unique views around the mountain above tree line. Anyone got trail recommendations? Must see stops? Tackled similar routes? Anything helps, thanks!

Is it true if you ride a bike to the trailhead and back that the hike to summit and back won’t be counted towards the 48? This doesn’t seem fair as anyone else doing the 48’s previously didn’t have the extra 4 mile road walk.

Not gonna lie this one kicked my arse a little. Got a wicked late (12:30) start but gorgeous weather.

Right now I'm torn between getting a -20f bag or a -40 bag. I like the flexibility of the -20, but back in January there were multiple days I would get into the car, and the thermometer would be -15f and I worry that would be pushing it for a -20 bag (I definitely run cold). I'm looking at Marmot for the CWM -40 bag or the Col -20f and honestly, the weight, price, and size difference is so small I'm wondering if it would just be worth getting the CWM. Also, at what temperature does a -40 become "too warm"? I've heard you can use them as high as single digits/teens.
