I've been using 5g wifi and want to switch to cable wifi, but my apartment doesn't have a cable connection. Every other unit in my building has one through Xfinity and Im wondering how much it'd cost to get it installed, and if its something that a landlord would have any reason to not let them install it.

I have my gaming set up in my room next the the WiFi in the living room but I struggle to get any WiFi I’ve tried literally everything you can think of it’s been about a week and even my phone bugs in my room it’s been on and off like this for two months but never this bad

That's the *translated* message that displays on my wifi admin panel in my browser when I am about to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. I'm considering doing this b/c apparently only the 5 GHz bands are available for my devices currently, and there's an HP printer that needs the 2.4 GHz in order to work. . . .

Could somebody please explain what the above message means? The caveats? And what is entailed for me to "re-pair" the "Repeater?" I'm not even sure if that means *fix* or more *re-couple*. . . .

P.S. The Wifi hardware is a bbox sensation fast5330B. . . . But since this is w/ an ISP in France and all their help guides are of course in French, I'm struggling. Some things are getting lost in the technical web translations, and the best guide I think I located is a scanned PDF which is problematic for most translation apps.

I don't know why, but it's literally walking through the door and just poof, the connection drops instantly.

Of course I can't use internet for calls, videos, fast downloads or online games, and I've been using my laptop in the living room, where the router is, because of that. I tried to buy a WiFi repeater/extender (I don't know how it's called in English) so it could reach my room, but it's even worse because it messes with the connection of other devices when it's turned on and doesn't even work or the upgrade is barely noticeable.

My father refuses to use an ethernet cable because it's too much work. He's telling me to buy one of the things in the picture above, but I'm afraid it will be just as useless as the repeater/extender. None of my parents want me to use the computer in the living room, specially because they're either watching the TV or trying to rest/sleep and they don't want me to be noisy if I'm in call with friends for example.

What should I do?

Had issues with Airties 4920, traded in for 4960, this one comes with an app. Self care scan says "Poor Link Quality Detected" with the message "wi-fi link capacity is low for <device>" for all my devices. It says contact my ISP provider, but wondering if anyone here has any quick insight on what I can do to remedy this error. Thanks.

I'm having a problem with SteamOs that wifi disconnects when I'm using 5g, I turn off all the save power management, but its still disconnecting and reconnecting, is really annoying
If I use the 2.4 version is stable.

Does anyone have the same problem? knows how to fix it?

Hi. I am looking to get a Wi-Fi signal to a place with no power outlet. Ideally, I would want the hotspot to work a week at a time before changing/charging the battery.

Any ideas on how this would be possible or a product you recommend?

Hi i have a tmobile router (g5ar-1) and its not the best for gaming, especially in my room, I just kinda would like help to better it, most of my games say its latency issues to just full on lagging me out

Hello Techsupporters! Thanks for helping me out! So i use google chrome and ocasionally opera GX on my 2023 [i think] lenovo laptop. Now, randomly my wifi will cut out and it can range from a few seconds to a whole minute, its really random. HOWEVER, i ONLY experience this when i'm using my browser. When i'm playing a game it just doesn't disconect. i know its not a router thing since i live with other people who use laptops and their wifi is perfectly fine. I tried most of the usual fixes, preventing the wifi driver from being turned off in battery saver, flushing DNS and restarting my computer, clearing out saved google data, and its helping but not solving the issue. is there something i'm missing here?

I am looking for a device that you can connect to wifi and then plug an Ethernet cable directly in, but I do not want to use a "wifi extender" that repeats the current signal or creates a second wifi network. The signal throughout the house is great and I don't want to complicate things.

I have a 15 year-old device that is struggling to connect to wifi these days. It only has 2.4ghz band, and even though the signal strength is 100% it just struggles to stay connected. The Ethernet port works fine, has no connection issues, and it runs much faster when plugged in anyways.

The house it is located in is a rental, so running a cable drop isn't an option at this time.

I don't want to spend $100 or program my own mini router. LOL
