New, what is it? Found at work…
Any ideas guys, found in a bag of tools

thats a tubular impressioning tool. its used to pick open tubular locks if you dont have the key (i.e arcade cabinets, vending machines and some lock boxes use this kind of lock)

Exactly that, but not one of the good ones, this is one of the cheap sets you can get off Amazon.

They work ok on lower end tubular locks like tool boxes or padlocks with tubular key with some patience, they don't really work on decent quality locks like those you would see in a snack or drink machine.

SouthOrd and Covert Instruments both sell quality tools.
The Amazon lockpicking stuff is good for using on practice or cheap locks to understand the concepts and mechanics of picking but typically do not work well in real useage.
With these specific ones the issue is the individual fingers are very flimsy and like to bend out of position and you have to adjust the position of the rubber bands to adjust tension on the fingers, the higher quality ones use better metal that is less prone to bending and have a tension adjustment knob.

Lock picking tools for tubular locks.
If you have vending machines people probably using them to steal feom the vending machines.
About 30$ new

7-pin tubular lock pick set, used for cylindrical locks. This not super expensive about $30-$40

It's a lock pick for the tube locks like they have on coke machines and clothes washers

Hope I am not incriminating myself here. I had the same lockpicking set in college. The washing machine on campus would eat my quarters, and I learned you could pick the tubular locks. You can buy this set on Amazon. Still have the darn things in my desk, but I never really figured out how to use them well.
