I started listening to ween a few years ago and I fell deeply in love. I’ve recently been exploring Frank Zappa but I took a detour and listened to this Duck Stab album! I wasn’t previously familiar with the Residents but holy fuck does this album have some ween energy. This album feels like evil ween or like a darker creepier side of a ween coin. This album had me giggling maniacallyyyy.

The gener copypasta from earlier made me recollect on my actual encounters with Ween members in the wild

Deaner and Glenn were playing a show near the town I live in with a band called Brothers Keeper. Concert-wise there usually isn’t much going on there, and I totally missed the announcement to the sold out show. I was bummed but was fully committed to finding tickets for me and my lady.

I showed up super early to the venue and checked in at the door to confirm that there weren’t tickets. After being denied, I walked out of the theater and looked across the parking lot and saw Dean sitting on a milk crate, smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. I approached him to say a quick hello, “Mickey, just wanted to say what’s up”, and gave him a handshake. He greeted me with a big grin and asked if I was excited about the show. I told him it was sold out and I was in desperate for a ticket. He then said, “aww man, I don’t know anyone in this town…. I can put you on the guest list” I was so stoked, thanked him and said goodbye. I approached the door fully anticipating that he had forgotten, but sure enough, we were on the list. The show fucking rocked and i went home with a very memorable experience

I met Claude at Whole Foods. He was confused to be recognized until he saw my ween hoody. He was super chill and friendly and seemed unbothered to chat. It was rad
