So I'm a beginner. When I start making any project, I'm very confused about what I should use and what I should not; also, some languages are outdated to use today. If I learn them, then there won't be much use of it, i started learning web dev, but then, in recent times, mostly AI can make a basic website so easily. So I get very confused about where I start. I have watched many videos on yt and they say stick to one language until you have mastered it. I feel like everything that's happening in the tech field- everyone is going behind that single thing like AI; now everyone is learning AI, and till I get a job, maybe something else would trend in the market...I have asked my teachers and my guides, but I don't think I'm getting anywhere.

I've been teaching myself web development, and I recently finished my first website. Since it's my first project, I'm trying to understand whether the traffic it's getting is decent or if I should be doing something differently.

Right now, it's had about 485 real visitors in around 20 days.

For those of you who've built websites before:

• Is that a good start, or is it considered low?
• What are the biggest things you did to increase traffic?
• Any mistakes beginners usually make?

A little while back I posted here about reworking my company's website. We do enterprise AI engineering, things like custom AI agents etc.

In my earlier posts I put up the current site along with a first conceptual version, and the responses I got were genuinely useful. It helped me see what was landing and what was not.

I took all of that and put together a new version that builds on the earlier concept. That newer one is what I would really like people to look at this time.

Let me know what still comes across as generic, what you would cut, and what looks off to you. I am after feedback on the content itself, whether it makes it clear what we actually do, and the theme too. Does it feel right for a B2B AI company or does it come off like it is trying too hard?

I need to work on a new project and planning to build a monorepo from scratch. I’ve never worked with tRPC or a full monorepo setup before, so I’d love some feedback on setup, architecture, and developer workflow.

The Tech Stack

• Backend: NestJS with tRPC
• Web Frontend: React
• Mobile App: Expo (React Native)

Why I'm Choosing a Monorepo + tRPC

The main goal is end-to-end type safety and code reusability:

1. tRPC Type Sharing: To share backend API router types with both Web and Mobile without manual code generation or OpenAPI schemas.
2. Shared Styling: To share Tailwind CSS / NativeWind configurations across web and mobile.
3. Shared Packages: To share utility packages.
4. Shared React Hooks: To share custom hooks and business logic across both frontend platforms.

My Questions

• What is the recommended folder structure for a setup like this?
• Which package manager should I use (pnpm, Bun, or Yarn v4)?
• We have a team of 3 developers (1 on Backend, 1 on Web, 1 on Mobile).
• Is there a way to restrict Git operations or limit code visibility so developers only work on/clone their respective apps, while still gaining the full benefits of tRPC type sharing and shared packages?
• Or does attempting this access restriction defeat the purpose of a monorepo?
• How do we share common packages cleanly across the workspace without duplicating installations or causing version mismatch conflicts in node_modules?
• (Suppose we know both frontend will be using tanstack query, how to share it without double installation but with frontend only visibility, also suppose a package is uncommon now but becomes common later, maybe only backend uses zod when project starts, it's installed in backend workspace only for now, but later even frontend requires it, how would we manage without double installation?)
• How can we structure shared custom hooks and packages so they remain modular and encapsulated rather than globally exposed to everything in the repo?

Hello I am a 15-year-old "entrepreneur" trying to make my own money. I am attending college, but I started to feel that simply going to college wouldn't be enough for me to build a good future, so I quickly started to work this summer. I thought that freelancing by creating websites and selling them would be a great idea to make my first money. So now I am trying to learn HTML, CSS, JS and BOOTSTRAP. Can anyone please help and suggest me what to do? What are the necessary things required to learn to crack a job. I want to do an internship after the end of 2nd year. I want to know what skills are required and i will be able to polish them by the end of my 2nd year so that I can crack an internship. Idk it keeps on going in my mind that everything ai can do which inturns like I make projects using ai even though I don't have knowledge about what I'm using although I get to know about various new things through it. So as on campus placements would be arriving soon and in my college most companies are services based and after that there comes product based companies, which recently demands like DSA which is a necessity and after that comes the part of projects reviewed by the hr or any other team member, so what kind of projects would help me to showcase my knowledge of web development in the sense like Ai , technologies , creative ways to solve a particular problem

I've been working on a new kind of multiplayer library called PlaySocket that abstracts away the complexity of optimistic updates, handles robust synchronization with custom CRDTs, and works beautifully with reactive frameworks like React, Svelte or Vue.

This has been used in production for my game OpenGuessr, powering around a million rounds of gameplay every month. I've been iterating on this for around two years, refining the shape of the API, making it more powerful and performant, and so on. I can definitely say that it has helped me make changes to the game's multiplayer much faster.

This is mainly interesting for collaborative apps, quizzes, turn-based games etc., but not ideal for e.g. synchronizing the physics of a complex multiplayer game. While I think the concept is cool, I'm still unsure whether this implementation of it is the "right" one...

Made a terminal Tamagotchi that corresponds to your GitHub activity. It's all deterministic from your profile, so no state is saved anywhere. Had fun building this one, there are some fun animation easter eggs in it too. It's also kind of fun to see where you rank against people you follow or work with.

Install should just be brew install wjames111/gitagotchi/gitagotchi and then run gh-pet.

I was going to use the World Cup as the main marketing event to try get more eyes on my indie football game....

I started streaming, posting on YouTube, TikTok etc. Slowly I started seeing a few players jump in a play a couple of games. Nothing crazy, but I could see how doing this constantly can bring players over time.

So naturally instead of focusing on things I'm supposed to do (streaming, Clipping, posting), I wanted to see if removing texture images will actually have a big impact on mobile perf. Because VRAM is massive issue with mobile phones and Browser games...

Well... It did 😅

So here I am in the middle the biggest re-write of the project so far... But I like where it's heading. I am now at less than 4MB size:

I've also tested the game on a potato PC with these specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 (3.10 GHz)

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Integrated)

RAM: DDR3

Ran the game pretty well at 40-45 fps on Ultra settings 😎 (up from 30-35 fps)

My mid-tier mobile now is feeling so much smoother as well (some fps drops here and there, but overall around 55-60 on Ultra settings)

So now I'm onto re-writing the entire customization section, so instead of using textures I'll be creating different customizable shaders.

But I still wish sometimes I could just focus on things I'm supposed to be doing 😅

Has anyone here implemented this on their server? My client is not running their website in the cloud, but on a co-located Windows server running IIS. I'm concerned about having to open ports and being out of compliance with PCI.

I’ve been looking at Shopify stores that slowly become harder to manage as more apps get added over time. In a lot of cases, the store still functions fine on the surface, but the backend becomes messy, page speed starts dropping, and small changes turn into a maintenance headache.

The biggest issues I usually notice are duplicate functionality, heavy scripts loading on mobile, and leftover code after apps are removed. Sometimes one app is doing the same thing as two others, or a feature that should be simple ends up being handled through multiple tools. That’s when the store starts feeling bloated.

I’m curious how other people approach this in real Shopify builds.

How do you decide which apps are actually worth keeping?

Do you check performance first, or functionality first?

How do you deal with apps that leave behind code even after uninstalling?

At what point do you replace an app with custom code instead?

I feel like simplifying the stack can make a big difference, especially when the goal is long-term maintainability and better conversion performance. But I’d like to hear how others handle this in practice, because every store seems to have a slightly different setup.
