The Golden State Warriors’ pursuit of Michael Porter Jr. advanced far enough at the February trade deadline that the front office considered surrendering a first-round pick. The deal never crossed the finish line because Steve Kerr did not want it, according to Yahoo Sports’ Kevin O’Connor.

“Michael Porter Jr.? Sources say that Steve Kerr didn’t want MPJ in February, and there is little reason to believe he would want him now,” O’Connor wrote Wednesday.

That revelation supplies an important missing piece to Golden State’s previously reported negotiations with the Brooklyn Nets*.*

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported June 10 that the Warriors considered parting with a first-round pick for Porter in the hours before the deadline. Terance Mann also surfaced in expanded discussions, Scotto reported, but including him would have required a third team and complicated the framework.

The front office explored the price. Kerr ultimately appears to have decided the basketball fit did not justify paying it.

News Anthony Slater: "The Warriors are pessimistic that [signing LeBron] will take place. Since the beginning, they've just really not thought they're at the top of the list. I talked to someone last night that basically said, 'They've given no sign or hint' that it's going to happen."

Discussion Stephen Curry question

Hey Warriors fans,

I am a fan from the UK and I’m looking at travelling to San Francisco. I have dates in mind and it covers Warriors preseason games.

Has Steph Curry ever played those games? Will he likely feature at any point? I was lucky enough to watch Curry and LeBron twice in London ahead of the 2024 Olympics, but it’s now on my bucket list to see him in a Warriors jersey.

I don’t want to wait around for the fixture list because normally prices of accommodation and flights inflate when the fixtures drop roughly.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Discussion Definitively, would you all be cool with DeMar being a Warrior this season?

Upvotes

With the Dubs pessimistic about Bron and unwilling to move off picks unless they have a Bron guarantee which makes it even less likely to obtain in, again...gotta be realistic and look to pivot. The FO has their contingency plans in place. DeMar will be one of them, surely. The Warriors have been loosely connected but the Bron ordeal has overshadowed a lot.

If the Warriors end up signing DeMar, would that be a signing you all were cool with? A signing you think that could aid this team? There's been a few posts about DeMar this off-season but none that laid this question on the line for Dubs fans.

I know a lot of people are very hesitant about front office pulling the trigger on the Anthony Davis trade. Trading for Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson might hypothetically be better than getting ad and with rumours that Kevin o Connor is spreading LeBron would be willing to accept a team to land either kyrie or Anthony. I like the kyrie package better.
