There is something wrong with it, every time I turn it on it says formatting error, when I try to upload mp3 files into the file manager it won’t let me. It also says the storage is almost full even though there aren’t any songs on it. I think the person who had it before me messed with the internal files or something I had to reinstall the file manager because it wasn’t there in the first place. I have no idea what I’m doing I can’t find anything on YouTube, I might just be broken idk. 😵‍💫

I'm looking to purchase a new motor for my Walkman (WM-31) and the motor model installed is NBL22. Unfortunately on Sparesforsony it is listed as £80. However the website also states that the NBL12R can fit and is at a much more reasonable price of £26. My question is what are the differences between the 2 as i cant find any documentation about the NBL12R

put battery in this ex674, the motor was spinning for awhile then stopped. but no sign of movement when i pressed playback, FW and RWD. but the red light ON for function.

Any clue or input? cleaned and lubed the capstan, new belt and pinch rollers. no idea what’s going wrong with it. please advise 😞

Hello. I have a vintage Sony Walkman WM-EX500. Whenever I press play, fast-forward or rewind, it beeps and switches off. I have tested it with a new AA alkaline battery and several cassettes.

I understand that it is an older, out-of-warranty product, but I cannot currently afford a commercial repair here in London as they cost over £60.

Really cannot afford a repair, but the walkman itself is quite precious to me and I'd love to hear it once again as it belonged to someone that has now passed away.

as the title says, my EX511 is struggling with FFW and REW altogether, it grinds the gears and just cant get into motion. What can i do to fix it? Oddly enough the playback speed or playback overall isnt affected by it

As the title might suggest, my walkman is stuck on HOLD mode even though I have the shuttle switch on NORMAL or GROUP. I was wondering if any else has had this issue before and if it was able to be resolved. Another thing about it is that I have tried using the RESET button on the back and that didn't fix it so I'm wondering if it's an internal/mechanical issue. Please let me know! Thanks.

Hi bought one of these last year with a large micro sd card and working my way through my cd collection and itunes library and adding them to the sony music centre. I have a few questions hopefully someone can help with.

1 is it best to only use the sony music centre software to transfer a small number of files because when you have thousands it seems to take a huge amount of time to move? ie just drag and drop

2 when i connect the walkman to the pc after adding a new cd for some reason it seems to add loads of other tracks back onto the walkman that are already there. It doesnt just add the new cd tracks as itunes would with an ipod etc. is there some setting i am not aware of that refreshes a lot more than the newly added cd tracks?

3 i assumed that if i imported music files from say itunes it would add them to the music centre folder. Doesnt look like its doing that as far as i can tell. Almost as if its just using a link to the original file location ie itunes in this case.

Sorry for so many newbie questions but sony music centre seems to be less user friendly than itunes and i seem to be spending more time trying to get my music on the walkman than actually using it . Are people using some other software instead?

Picked up a couple of Minerva cases on EBay and they just arrived yesterday. Well built and far more fitting in my opinion than the Fatbear option

Wanted to upgrade my nw-a27 and got this eBay for 300 flat. Was gonna choose the zx100 for the buttons and proprietary os but saw this had a balanced port and dac/wireless receiver mode and folded immediately. I like how it’s also not android so I only missed out on the center buttons, but they are still placed on the side so it’s not bad on that aspect either. You can also make playlists on here unlike the old model I had so HUGE plus for me. 10/10 I still gotta stress test battery

This is actually just really disappointing, the cable just completely tore off on one side. Please help me, I really want to fix this player.

Has anyone managed to get android auto installed on their Sony Walkman ? Specially I have a NW ZX707. Wouldn’t mind trying android auto in my car instead of using Apple CarPlay with my iPhone.

hi, i am using the adaptor that is mentioned in the manual. when play is pressed, the backlight turns on for a split sec and shows this error code which seems strange since it is the correct voltage, and it works normally with aa batteries too.

any ideas on whats causing this?

I've noticed an issue where whenever I use a new aux cord or wired pair of earbuds with my A55 the cord eventually messes up where the sound will distort (either becoming quiet or only coming out of one ear) unless I mess with the cord itself at the port, this only happens if I use the wired item with the walkman, after some period of time, none of my other devices have caused this issue. Does anyone know of what may be causing this and how I could fix it? My A55 does have the Wampy firmware installed.

I've had my NWZ-X1050 MP3 player since 2010, really enjoyed using it all these years and it's still going strong. It's sound quality trumped the IPhone and Samsung Galaxy flagship phones I've owned until I got the S24 a year and a half ago.

I was thinking of picking up an NW-A307 but would only do so if the sound quality is better than the S24's or at least as good.

So how would you say it rates for sound quality? Better than flagship Samsung phones?

I won't be listening to FLAC, it will be MP3 and YouTube music. Is it still worth picking up? Or shall I just stick with the S24?

...what makes this Walkman worth the money? I'm relatively sure it uses the same application (on Windows, I mean), is still Android based, and has the same functions as my NW A-300. The specs are impressive but I don't think I could notice some of the audio improvements without years of training or something.

At that point you could just buy the better home stereo and be done, controlling it from a tablet (like a Crestron)
