Discussion Uncharted territory: Dott is at eleven tracks and is still unreleased
The Vulf album release pattern has never been entirely constant, but one thing that we have been able to count on up to this point is that when the tenth single drops, the album is complete. Now that Dott has exceeded that number with no signs of stopping, what surprises are in store?

Video I meet a surprising amount of fans who are unaware of Stuff, considering Vulfpeck is practically a Stuff tribute band. Here's Stuff live at Montreux in 1976

Meta If you didn't get to watch Montreux before it was taken down...
I believe I'm not the only person who planned to watch the Montreux live stream after it happened, only to open the link later and see it was taken down.
Hopefully it'll be reposted again somewhere soon, but in the meantime...
I'm not gonna risk posting any links in case that's against reddit or the subreddit's rules but there's a Russian video streaming site like YouTube called VK, and the whole thing was reuploaded there in HD.
If you Google this exact query:
VK "Vulfpeck - Montreux Jazz Festival 2026"
You should find it.

Video MJF 2026 Jam Session - Boogie On Reggae Woman
Found this randomly suggested on YouTube. Check out that bass + vocals solo by Louis Cato, what a multi-talent!
FYI I'm not the creator of the video.

Question Looking for (phone) recording of 3 on E at Montreux Jazz Festival.
I saw the full concert on YouTube yesterday on the official channel of the festival and I wanted to do a cover with my band but the video was deleted and I can't find anything on Insta or Tiktok. Does anyone who attended maybe have a video they can share?
I really like the intro. Normally they do the whole "songs that start with 3 on E" show but this time they just had a nice buildup with bass, guitar and sax.

Question Montreux setlist ?
I’m a very new Vulfpeck listener and had a chance to see them in Montreux last Friday. Blown away not just by the music but by the show as a whole as well.
Does anyone know the list of songs that were played that night ?

Discussion 20-Year Disco Ulysses Release Theory
So, the general consensus is that Disco Ulysses (with lyrics) won't get released anytime soon, maybe ever. But I still always hold out hope, just cause I love that song.
A silly idea I had recently was that Jack would release Disco Ulysses concurrently with Nolan's Odyssey. Like I said, a silly idea. But it got me thinking: what if Jack is waiting for a special time to release the song? What if he releases Disco Ulysses in 2038? Twenty years after the instrumental release? It would be a tongue-in-cheek nod to the 20 years that Odysseus (Ulysses) spends away from home between the Iliad and Odyssey.
I wouldn't put it past the same guys who came up with Sleepify, Vulf Sans, and selling "album real estate" with the song Off and Away. These guys embed their humour into everything, including their business model, and I guess I can see a world where Disco Ulysses has to wait twenty years before it gets released.
Bottom line is, I hope that song gets released someday. Maybe we'll get to 2038 and it'll pass by with no release, Disco Ulysses long forgotten. But a man can dream. 🙏

Video Yes. Montreaux is decent.
For any of us having O2 withdrawal symptoms this is a delicious echo with some added extras - even five minutes of the Montreaux start sequence repeating and repeating.
The sound mix is terrific as well.

Vulfverse First Vulfpeck Show
I went to my first ever Vulfpeck Show in Montreux yesterday (after years of never being able to attend a show) and holy crap was it good!
A few things that stood out to someone who went to a ton of concerts:
- one of those groups where the live version of the music is just as good if not better than the studio version. Gave me the vibe of a good old open-mic jam session.
- the musicians looked like they were delighted to be there and having a ton of fun, which was contagious (opposite to some megastar bands/musicians where you could tell they were very done with touring)
- the fan base is absolutely amazing, people dancing, cheering, clapping and overall being incredibly invested - absolute conoisseurs and lovers of music and the band
Joe Dart is exceptionnal and criminally underrated

Discussion Jerry smiling down on the boys?
Just saw the new Jazz at Montreux upload. Holy crap.
Honestly this show is blowing my mind. Just listened to it twice through at full volume lol.
This is the absolute tightest the boys have sounded in years. I don't normally go online and gas up bands a lot.
Louis Cato is no poor man's Theo. He's bringing his own thing and absolutely nailing it. Incredible performances all around. The mix is great and crisp. (I would pay $$ for a blu-ray with multiple lossless mixes)
This may sound crazy but I've listened to a lot of Grateful Dead all my life (I'm old) but a lot of Phish, and in the last decade or so, mainly Vulfpeck + Fearless Flyers + Cory Wong related stuff.
Watching this performance in particular, I really think Jerry Garcia would have dug this band hard if he could have seen this performance or have been there. They have that incredible free-form group energy that he was into, where they're almost like a musical collective more than an ego band. With a great respect for both song form and composition and incredible performance skill, improvisation and interpersonal dynamics and live crowd energy. This band consistently puts a true smile on my face while also melting that face which is not something I can say about many other groups in a long time. Well done, boys.
Anyone else out there in Vulf nation that vibes with the Dead? Think Phil is smiling down from heaven at Joe Dart?
EDIT: it appears the video was taken private. It wasn't on the Vulf channel, it was on the festival's.

Louis Cato
Just want to set this up as a Louis Cato appreciation post.
Saw Vulfpeck in London and now watching on live stream for the Montreaux gig.
The people in Vulfpeck knocked it out of the park to get him to replace Theo Katzman. From watching both gigs I noticed that Cory Wong and Joe dart are so happy having Cato behind drums. He’s absolutely killing it.
I think as well antwan Stanley really enjoys having him there from a vocal perspective. He just hits harmonies different to Theo.
I think this is why he’s the perfect replacement for Theo. He’s not copying Theo in any way. He brings his own vibe and I just think it works.
What do you guys think? Have a drink too much of the Louis Cato cool aide? Hahaha
