Guide Start here if you're looking for tutorials on everything volleyball. This is the most informative volleyball YouTube channel that I've seen. Definitely the best place to learn volleyball if you are just starting out and don't have a coach.

Question I need advice from the setters

I apologise for my bad English, I wrote through a translator.

Now I'm playing the position of a setter. But I have one problem: I can't pass from the forehead. My hands are about 15 centimetres away from him and because of this I can't give strong and high gears. I also really ask for advice on how to make soft passes so that my fingers don't stick into the ball.

How can I improve?

Ive been working on my volleyball skills since last year November I’ve learnt all the other basics except spiking I’m unsure how to get a good form and when I practice spiking it’s the jumping part that’s making me nervous I’m unsure how to aim when it comes to spiking.

Any tips or routines I should try?

Question Training tips needed for Libero

I am giving a girl a private lesson on Monday. She is going into her sophomore year of high school and should make the JV team. She is a libero.
This will be our first private lesson together. I need advice on what drills I should focus on for her position specifically. She mentioned she wanted to work on serve receive help, defense against hitters and how to read where the hitter is hitting, and just overall help with passing.
I have another lesson with her the following week, so for sure two sessions scheduled now. I want to write a lesson plan that I can could off of for the next private lesson. What would you recommend I do as drills and advice/coaching tips for her?

Question Spiking Form

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Does anyone have any pointers on my spiking form? I am just getting back into volleyball and I’m hoping to become a more well rounded player. My passing is great, my setting is okay but my hitting has always been rough. Can someone help me figure out how to fix my timing?

Question Hitting Help. How to I stop dropping my elbow

I am aware that in my approach I drop my elbow and bring it around backwards instead of keeping it up. What are some drills or exercises I can do to break this habit?

Point Celebrations

My friend recently came to the Philippines to play volleyball. She loves the sport and everything but after every point the team celebrates as if they won a gold medal. The cheers are really exaggerated and high energy, and my friend isn’t used to it, and they told her she needs to get with it and be like the team. What are some good celebration ideas that she could have?

I built a free, simple scouting app because my friend was tired of Excel sheets

My friend coaches a volleyball team and has been struggling to find a scouting app that was actually useful, user-friendly, and completely free. Most options out there are either way too complex or behind a paywall, so she ended up sticking to Excel sheets for the longest time.

I decided to help her out by building a lightweight scouting tool from scratch. It’s designed to be simple, fast, and completely free to use. No subscription, no hidden costs.

I don't want this to look like spam, so I won't put the link in the main post, but if you're interested in checking out the code or trying the live app, let me know and I'll drop the links in the comments!

I’d love to hear what you guys think—if you're a coach, would this help with your workflow? Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions!

Should i try volley ?

For context im searching for something that requires a strong mindset bc im kinda bored about me giving up when i cant do smt but also im not sure if i truly wanna play a sport that is too team dependant. idk if im expressing myself right but im also going to the gym and i fell great about it no doubts but i tried soccer, basket and many other things (including videogames) but i still get overwhelmed easily when i play with a team. Maybe my problem is mental but maybe sports that requires a team or just other persons to play it are not my thing especially volleyball bc firts i cant even do a receipt correctly or just even keep the ball on the air when others can do it without any problem even without any training fck it even my hole grade can do it without any problems. Second im not even able to understand the rules of soccer im gonna understand the rules of volley and third im just scared to try one more time and not being able to even play correctly or just that my team treats me with leam when i cant even maintein the ball on the air without even moving :b

I want a Volleyball Team/group to join

I’m 21 years old, and I’ve never been on a volleyball team or even practiced enough, I know the basics mostly because my father didn't like it but it’s something I’ve enjoyed since I was a kid. I’m curious about finding people to play with; I currently live in NJ.

Guys pls help here

so basically. I just finished eighth grade now I’m in the summer between eighth grade and ninth grade. so I (13f) am gonna try volleyball next year as a freshman. I love playing vb with my friends and I’m always very excited and even sleep dreams of playing it. The only problem is that even though I’ve watched a ton of videos, on the different positions and all the rules and stuff, I still have never played competitively and I have to do tryouts to get on the team and I really want to be like good. my plan is to get a volleyball, practice every day and do drills every day until tryouts. And ofc keep doing drills even after tryouts and the week of tryouts, but I’m still super nervous. anyone who has tried out and maybe even made the team for vb, or hasn’t but just has some tips for me to prepare for tryouts in a month, that would be sooooo helpful. THANKS FOR READINGGGGGG

Anybody’s knee ever pop out while playing?

Sometimes my knees pop out and then go back in quickly. It’s not extremely painful but is very uncomfortable. Does anybody else have this and if so what do you do to stop it? Thanks!

Question Need advice

Just a bit of backstory, I tried training for volleyball for the first time couple months ago, landed incorrectly after jumping then twisted my ankle (first time getting a sprained ankle). After that I stopped training for almost a year, it took awhile and tbh, my foot still doesn’t feel like it’s back to normal 100%. I can go to the gym etc with no issues. It’s just the fear now of getting injured and having twice the time to recover, doctor told me everything should be fine I just need to do some foot exercises. I barely trained few months ago and basically spent more time healing than training (got injured at my second month). I got back again recently but there’s that fear, I’m not so sure if I should continue the sport, it’s fun but the risk is so high. I want to become amazing at the sport because it looks fun but what if I get injured again? I’ve only ever played badminton and I didn’t really consider this side of sports. Do people who play volleyball just play even when they’re still injured? Is it common for them to just play anyway or am I just being overly cautious
